Pour célébrer les bons résultats de l'équipe tchèque lors des derniers jeux olympiques de Londres (10 médailles : 4 or, 3 argent, 3 bronze), la poste tchèque a mis en circulation, du 20 au 24 août 2012, une oblitération très spéciale !
C'est cette oblitération, conçue par Miloslav Bláha, qui figure sur la lettre recommandée ci-dessous postée de Prague le 20 août 2012.

Mais pourquoi ce cachet, qui inclut la mention "Blahopřejeme medailistům z Londýna" ("Félicitation aux médaillés de Londres"), a cette curieuse forme de botte ?
To celebrate the good results of the Czech team at the last London Olympic Games (10 medals : 4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze), the Czech Post has put into circulation, from 20 to 24 August 2012, a very special postmark !
It is that cancellation, designed by Miloslav Bláha, that appears on the registered cover below mailed from Prague on August 20, 2012.

But do you know why this postmark, including the words "Blahopřejeme medailistům z Londýna" ("Congratulations to the medalists of London"), has this strange boot shape ?

Bret a judicieusement utilisé à nouveau le timbre (20 Kc), en 2 exemplaires, émis le 20 juin 2012 par la poste tchèque pour annoncer ces jeux de Londres (j'ai déjà évoqué ce timbre et ses vignettes attenantes dans un message précédent sur ce blog).
Ce timbre, évoquant l'épreuve du lancer du javelot a sans doute porter chance à Barbora Špotáková qui a conservé son titre olympique à Londres !
L'autre timbre ci-dessus à gauche, émis le 15 novembre 2000, reproduit une oeuvre intitulée "Saint-Luc l'évangéliste" (vers 1365, conservée au château de Karlštejn) peinte par Maître Théodoric, l'un des maîtres de la peinture gothique en Bohême.

Bret has wisely used once again the stamp (20 Kc), in two copies, issued on June 20, 2012 by the Czech Post to announce these London games (I've already written about this stamp and its attached coupons in a previous post on this blog).
This stamp, featuring a javelin throw event, has maybe brought luck to Barbora Špotáková who has won a 2nd Olympic title in London !
The other stamp above to the left, issued on November 15, 2000, reproduces a work entitled "St. Luke the Evangelist" (circa 1365, Karlštejn Castle) painted by Master Theodoric, one of the masters of Gothic painting in Bohemia. 
Mais revenons donc à cette oblitération qui évoque donc une partie de la tenue officielle des athlètes tchèques à Londres : les bottes en caoutchouc !
Sans doute un clin d'oeil humoristique au temps incertain du côté de la capitale britannique, les sportifs tchèques ont en effet défilé avec ces bottes mais aussi des parapluies, conçus à partir de couleurs bleu, rouge et noir.
Ces couleurs rappellent en effet celles de l'oeuvre "Amorpha - Fugue en deux couleurs", peinte il y a juste 100 ans par le célèbre peintre abstrait tchèque František Kupka (1871-1957).
Cette peinture avait d'ailleurs été reproduite sur un timbre de la série artistique émise le 17 juin 1998...
But let's speak again about this postmark thus evoking a part of the official uniform of the Czech athletes in London : rubber rain boots !
Probably a humorous reference to the uncertain weather of the British capital, the Czech athletes have indeed marched with these boots but also with umbrellas, designed from blue, red and black colors.
These colors were indeed chosen to remind the work "Amorpha - Fugue in Two Colors", painted just 100 years ago by the famous Czech abstract painter František Kupka (1871-1957).
This painting has already been reproduced on an Art series stamp issued on June 17, 1998... 
Bret a également eu la gentillesse de joindre à sa lettre le feuillet commémoratif numéroté ci-dessus comportant une autre oblitération spéciale, conçue également par Miloslav Bláha, mise en circulation dans la ville de Strakonice du 22 au 26 août 2012 à l'occasion de son 20ème festival international de cornemuse.
Je n'ai pas trouvé de lien direct entre ce festival ou cette ville et le timbre utilisé sur ce feuillet ?
Ce timbre, déjà évoqué également sur ce blog, émis le 9 novembre 2011, reproduit une oeuvre intitulée "Femme dans un champ de maïs" (1910) par Joža Uprka (1861-1940).
Bret has also been kind enough to join his letter the numbered commemorative sheet above with another special postmark, also designed by Miloslav Bláha, issued in the city of Strakonice from 22 to 26 August 2012 on the occasion of his 20th International Bagpipe Festival.
I've not found any direct link between this festival or this city and the stamp used on this sheet ?
This stamp, also already mentioned on this blog, issued on November 9, 2011, reproduces a work entitled "Woman in Maize Field" (1910) by Joža Uprka (1861-1940).
