L'info est passée un peu inaperçue mais la Serbie, en tant que pays indépendant depuis 2006 après sa séparation avec le Monténégro, a remporté sa 1ère médaille d'or olympique lors des derniers jeux de Londres, grâce à Milica Mandić en taekwondo (femme +67 kg).
La délégation serbe, composée de 115 athlètes engagés dans 15 sports, a également remporté une médaille d'argent (tir féminin) et 2 médailles de bronze (tir masculin, water-polo masculin) lors de ces mêmes jeux.

Ces 2 timbres, incluant le logo officiel de ces jeux de Londres, évoquent respectivement la flamme olympique (44 dinars) et des monuments emblématiques de la capitale britannique (77 dinars) : Big Ben, Westminster, Tower Bridge, London Eye.
Comme de coutume, ces 2 timbres ont été émis chacun dans un feuillet composé de 8 timbres + 1 vignette centrale. La mention "Londres 2012 - Jeux Olympiques" est également incluse dans 4 langues dans les marges supérieures (serbe et anglais) et inférieures (allemand et français).
On July 27, 2012 (the opening day), the Post of Serbia has issued the series of two stamps above devoted to this 30th Olympiad in London.

These two stamps, including the official logo of these London Games, feature respectively the Olympic flame (44 dinars) and some famous landmarks of the British capital (77 dinars) : Big Ben, Westminster, Tower Bridge, London Eye.
As usual, these two stamps have been each issued in a sheet consisting of 8 stamps + 1 central vignette. The words "London 2012 - Olympic Games" is also included in four languages in the higher margins (Serbian and English) and lower margins (German and French).
