Il s'agit sans doute d'une des séries de timbres les plus originales consacrées aux jeux olympiques d'été de Londres !
La petite république de Saint-Marin a en effet émis, le 13 juin 2012, une intéressante série de 4 timbres se-tenant évoquant ces jeux et la participation d'athlètes saint-marinais.
C'est cette série qui figure sur la lettre ci-dessous postée le 6 août 2012 de Dogana (commune de Serravalle), la ville la plus peuplée du pays, située à la frontière nord-est avec l'Italie. Merci beaucoup Matteo :-)
A noter l'oblitération mécanique rouge incluant encore l'ancien logo de l'administration postale de Saint-Marin.
This is probably one of the most original stamp series devoted to the Summer Olympics in London !
The tiny Republic of San Marino has indeed issued, on June 13, 2012, an interesting series of four se-tenant stamps evoking these games and the participation of the athletes of San Marino.
It is that series that appears on the cover below mailed on August 6, 2012 from Dogana (municipality of Serravalle), the most populated city in the country, located to the north-eastern border with Italy. Thank you very much Matteo :-)
To note the red mechanical cancellation yet including the old logo of the postal administration of San Marino. 
Ces 4 timbres (0,50€ chacun), émis en feuille de 12 timbres (3 bandes horizontales de 4 timbres) ont été conçus par Marco Ventura et imprimés en France par Cartor Security Printing.
Le 1er timbre ci-dessus à gauche évoque l'aspect historique de ces jeux olympiques avec la flamme (réintroduite pour la 1ère fois lors des jeux de 1928) et une femme portant la couronne de laurier remise aux vainqueurs des jeux antiques en Grèce.
Les 3 autres profils évoquent des sports (natation, athlétisme, tir) dans lesquels des athlètes de Saint-Marin ont concouru à Londres (Clelia Tini, Martina Pretelli, Alessandra Perilli). A noter qu'un 4ème athlète, Emanuele Guidi (tir à l'arc) faisait également partie de la délégation saint-marinaise.
Alessandra Perilli a failli remporté la 1ère médaille olympique de l'histoire pour Saint-Marin lors de ces jeux de Londres, finissant à la 4ème place de l'épreuve de trap (fosse olympique)...
A noter enfin les mentions en anglais ("Games of the XXX Olympiad"), et non en italien, sur ces 4 timbres et l'absence d'émission de timbres consacré à ces jeux de Londres en Italie voisine.
These four stamps (€ 0.50 each), issued in sheets of 12 stamps (three horizontal strips of 4 stamps) have been designed by Marco Ventura and printed in France by Cartor Security Printing.
The first stamp above to the left evokes the historical aspect of these Olympic Games with the flame (that was reintroduced for the first time at the 1928 Games) and a woman wearing the laurel wreath presented to winners of the ancient games in Greece.
The other three profiles evoke sports (swimming, athletics, shooting) in which athletes from San Marino have competed in London (Clelia Tini, Martina Pretelli, Alessandra Perilli). To note that a fourth athlete, Emanuele Guidi (archery) was also part of the delegation of San Marino.
Alessandra Perilli narrowly missed out on winning San Marino's first ever Olympic medal during these games in London, finishing in fourth place of the women's trap final...
Finally, to note the words in English ("Games of the XXX Olympiad"), and not in Italian, on these four stamps and to note also that neighboring Italia has not issued any stamp dedicated to these London Games.
