Mahir a affranchi sa lettre avec la série EUROPA complète (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet), conçue par Khasay Mirzoyev (il est l'auteur de la quasi-totalité des émissions du pays !), émise le 17 février 2014, consacrée cette année aux instruments de musique nationaux.
Sauf erreur de ma part, l'Azerbaïdjan émet des timbres EUROPA depuis 1998 alors que le pays n'est toujours pas officiellement membre de l'organisation postale européenne PostEurop...

Mahir has franked his letter with the complete EUROPA series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet), designed by Khasay Mirzoyev (he is the author of almost all of the country's stamps !), issued on February 17, 2014, dedicated this year to the national music instruments.
If I'm not wrong, Azerbaijan is issuing EUROPA stamps since 1998 whereas the country is not officially a member of the European postal organization PostEurop...
Les 2 timbres isolés (0,2 manat et 0,6 manat, tirage : 30000 chacun) représentent différent instruments de musique traditionnels encore largement utilisés actuellement dans ce pays : le daf ou qaval (grand tambour constitué d'un cadre en bois sur lequel est collée une peau animale), le kamânche (instrument à cordes frottées, joué avec un archet), le dilli kaval (une flute traditionnelle en Turquie et Azerbaïdjan), un balaban ou düdük (instrument à vent), une zurna (instrument à vent de la famille des hautbois) et un târ (luth à long manche avec un corps en forme de double cœur).
Le timbre (1 manat) du bloc-feuillet (tirage : 15000) représente un groupe folklorique jouant avec certains des instruments représentés sur les 2 timbres (le daf, le târ et le kamânche), illustrant le mugham, ce genre musical traditionnel azéri laissant une grande place à l'improvisation.
La pratique du târ et le mugham font partie du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l'humanité.
A noter les couleurs (vert, rouge, bleu) dans le fond de ce bloc, rappelant celles du drapeau national.
Les 2 timbres de cette série EUROPA ont également été émis en carnet de 8 timbres (4 de chaque) et des versions non dentelées de toute la série (carnet, bloc, timbres) ont également été mises en circulation.
The two single stamps (0.2 and 0.6 manat, print run : 30,000 each) feature different traditional musical instruments currently still widely used in this country : the daf or qaval (large drum consisting of a wooden frame on which is bonded a membrane, usually goatskin), a kamancheh (bowed string instrument), a dilli kaval (a traditional end-blown flute in Turkey and Azerbaijan), a balaban or düdük (wind instrument), a zurna (wind instrument of the oboe family) and a tar (long-necked lute with a double heart-shaped body).
The stamp (1 manat) of the souvenir sheet (print run : 15,000) depicts a folk group playing with some of the instruments shown in the 2 stamps (daf, tar and kamancheh), illustrating the Mugham, a folk musical composition from Azerbaijan, that weds classical poetry and musical improvisation.
Tar's practice as well as Mugham are part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
To note the colors (green, red, blue) in the background of this m/s, reminding the national flag's colors.
The two stamps in this EUROPA series have been also issued in a booklet of 8 stamps (4 of each) and some unperforated versions of the complete set (booklet, m/s, stamps) were also released.
