Le 19 août 2011, l'USPS a mis en circulation 5 timbres (tarif permanent domestique "Forever" - 0,55$ actuellement) dans une série intitulée "Send a Hello" ("Envoyez un bonjour"), destinée à "connecter la famille et les amis grâce au pouvoir du courrier".
Ces 5 timbres sont consacrés à différents personnages de films d'animation créés par les studios Disney•Pixar : Buzz l'Éclair (Toy Story), Flash McQueen et Mater (Cars), Rémy le rat et Alfredo Linguini (Ratatouille), le robot Wall•E (Wall•E), Carl Fredricksen et Doug (Là-haut).
Il semble que l'USPS ait également mis en circulation (le même jour ?) des cartes pré-timbrées avec ces mêmes timbres mais à un tarif différent (29c).

These 5 stamps are dedicated to different characters of five popular movies created by Disney•Pixar Animation Studios: Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story), Lightning McQueen and Mater (Cars), Remy the rat and Alfredo Linguini (Ratatouille), the robot Wall•E (Wall•E) and Carl Fredricksen and Dug (Up).
It seems that the USPS also put into circulation (on the same day?) some prepaid cards with these same stamps but at a different postal rate (29c).

Buzz l'Éclair, accompagné ici par 2 aliens verts à 3 yeux, est à l'honneur sur cette carte consacré à Toy Story (1995), le premier long-métrage de Pixar et premier film d'animation créé en images de synthèse.
Buzz l'Éclair, et sa devise "Vers l'infini, et au-delà", est un des personnages principaux des Toy Story (4 films), un jouet anthropomorphe ultra perfectionné représentant un "ranger de l'espace" ("space ranger"), fabriqué en série et vendu dans les grands magasins. Sous les ordres de Star Command, il affronte le terrible Empereur Zurg pour la sauvegarde de l'humanité.
Igor a complété l'affranchissement avec 2 timbres dont un (tarif "Forever") émis le 13 octobre 2011 pour annoncer les festivités de Noël, reproduisant une madone peinte vers 1513 par Raphaël, "Vierge aux candélabres" (Walters Art Museum, Baltimore).
Le 3ème timbre ci-dessus (10c), émis le 24 janvier 2003 puis réémis en 2006, est le 2ème timbre de l'USPS consacré au Design américain, représentant ici une horloge créée vers 1805 (cadran en fer peint et caisse en acajou surmontée par un aigle en laiton).

Buzz Lightyear, and its motto "To infinity and beyond", is one of the main characters of Toy Story (4 films), an ultra-sophisticated anthropomorphic toy representing a "space ranger", mass produced and sold in department stores. Under the orders of Star Command, he confronts the terrible Emperor Zurg for the safeguard of humanity.
Igor completed the postage with 2 stamps, one of which ("Forever" rate) issued on October 13, 2011 to announce the Christmas festivities, reproducing a Madonna painted around 1513 by Raphael, "Madonna of the Candelabra" (Walters Art Museum, Baltimore).
The 3rd stamp above (10c), issued on January 24, 2003 then reissued in 2006, is the 2nd stamp of the USPS dedicated to American Design, here representing a clock designed around 1805 (dial in painted iron and case in mahogany crowned by a brass eagle).
L'autre côté de cette carte ci-dessus reprend le même visuel "Buzz l'Éclair" que sur le timbre.
