Sous l'apparence d'un conte pour enfants, "Le Petit Prince" se veut un conte poétique et philosophique avec une écriture simple et dépouillée mettant l'accent sur le comportement absurde des adultes.
Lorsque le Petit Prince quitte son astéroïde B 612, il découvre sur terre la solitude et l'absurdité de l'existence et raconte son histoire à un aviateur qui, à la suite d'une panne de moteur, a dû se poser en catastrophe dans le désert du Sahara.
Le timbre pré-imprimé (3,50 HRK), conçu par Hrvoje Šercar, est identique au timbre (3,80 HRK) émis le 20 septembre 1994 par la poste croate pour commémorer le 50ème anniversaire de la mort d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

When the Little Prince leaves his asteroid B-612, he discovers on Earth the loneliness and absurdity of life and tells his story to an aviator who, following an engine failure, had to crash-land in the Sahara Desert.
