Le 11 mars 2020, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un joli timbre consacré au château de Kašperk, considéré comme le château royal le plus haut de Bohême (886 mètres d'altitude), construit sur les contreforts de l'actuel parc national de la Šumava, dans le sud-ouest du pays, non loin de la frontière allemande.
Merci beaucoup Bret pour l'envoi de ce FDC officiel (tirage : 3000) concernant ce timbre (27 CZK) conçu par Adolf Absolon, avec TAD de la ville de Kašperské Hory qui en a la propriété depuis 1616.
A noter cette jolie gravure sur l'enveloppe (par Martin Srb) montrant les 2 imposantes tours de ce château sous un autre angle.
On March 11, 2020, the Czech Post issued a nice stamp dedicated to the Kašperk Castle, considered the highest royal castle in Bohemia (886 meters above sea level), built on the foothills of the current National Park of Šumava, in the south-west of the country, not far from the German border.
Thank you very much Bret for sending this official FDC (print run: 3,000) concerning this stamp (27 CZK) designed by Adolf Absolon, with cancellations from the town of Kašperské Hory, having this castle in property since 1616.

Ce château de Kašperk est un édifice gothique construit en 1356 sur les ordres de Charles IV à la pointe nord-est de la ville actuelle de Kašperské Hory, sur le mont Zámecký vrch.
L'empereur du Saint-Empire le fait construire pour défendre la frontière avec la Bavière, les mines d'or et la nouvelle terminaison mise en place du "Sentier d'or", une voie commerciale très importante, réservée au transport du sel, depuis Passau.
Bien que Kašperk était un château royal, il était administré par des familles nobles plutôt que par le chambellan royal.
Ce site est abandonné et délabré à partir du 17ème siècle et tombe en ruine jusqu'au début du 20ème siècle. Sa reconstruction est entamée depuis le début des années 1970.
This Kašperk Castle is a Gothic building built in 1356 on the orders of Charles IV at the northeast tip of the present-day town of Kašperské Hory, on Mount Zámecký vrch.
The emperor of the Holy Empire built it to defend the border with Bavaria, the gold mines and the new termination of the "Golden Route", a very important trade route, reserved for transporting salt, from Passau.
Although Kašperk was a royal castle, it was administered by noble families rather than by the royal chamberlain.
This site was abandoned and dilapidated from the 17th century and fell into disrepair until the beginning of the 20th century. Its reconstruction has started since the early 1970s.
