Timbre local "Niamh" sur lettre de l'île de Pabay (Écosse)

Depuis 1962, la petite île de Pabay met en circulation des timbres locaux dont l'objectif initial est de couvrir les frais de transport entre cette île et le continent (Écosse).
Cette île inhabitée est située au large de l'île de Skye, l'île la plus vaste et la plus au nord de l'archipel des Hébrides intérieures en Écosse (dans les mers intérieures de la côte ouest de l'Écosse).
Parmi les thèmes représentés sur ces timbres émis depuis 1962 (avec mention "Isle of Pabay" ou "Island of Pabay", avec aussi "Local Mail to Skye" sur les premiers timbres) : des thèmes locaux (faune et flore), chats, chiens, jeux olympiques de Mexico 1968, famille royale britannique...
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir cette lettre spéciale envoyée le 23 mars 2021 depuis l'île de Pabay, incluant un de ces timbres locaux. Merci beaucoup Roland !
Since 1962, the small island of Pabay has put into circulation local stamps having for initial objective to cover transport costs between this island and the mainland (Scotland).
This uninhabited island is located off the Isle of Skye, the largest and northernmost island of the Inner Hebrides archipelago in Scotland (in the inland seas of the west coast of Scotland).
Among the themes represented on these stamps issued since 1962 (with mention "Isle of Pabay" or "Island of Pabay", with also "Local Mail to Skye" on the first stamps): local themes (fauna and flora), cats, dogs, Mexico City 1968 Olympics, British royal family ...
I was lucky enough to receive this special letter sent on March 23, 2021 from the Island of Pabay, including one of these local stamps. Thank you very much Roland!

 

Ce timbre local (1£), émis en mars 2004 semble-t-il, est consacré à la mythologie celtique irlandaise, en particulier au personnage de Niamh, la fille de Manannan Mac Lir, un dieu souverain d'un aspect de l'Autre Monde celtique, le Sidh. 
Niamh règne sur Tír na nÓg ("la Terre de l'éternelle jeunesse"), l'un des plus connus des "Autres mondes" de la mythologie celtique.
Un timbre officiel (1,70£) a été également appliqué sur cette lettre, avec une jolie oblitération de Glasgow, représentant la façade de l'hôtel de ville ("Glasgow City Chambers") et son architecture victorienne (édifice construit entre 1882 et 1889).
Ce petit timbre courant fait partie d'une nouvelle série de la Royal Mail (4 timbres) mise en circulation en 2021, consacrée à chacun des "pays" britanniques, le chardon ici (sculpté par Tim Chalk) pour l'Écosse (les 3 autres timbres évoquant l'Angleterre, le Pays de Galles et l'Irlande du nord).

This local stamp (£ 1.00), apparently issued in March 2004, is devoted to Irish Celtic mythology, in particular to the character of Niamh, the daughter of Manannan Mac Lir, a sovereign god of one aspect of the Celtic Otherworld, the Sidh.

Niamh reigns over Tír na nÓg ("Land of Eternal Youth"), one of the best known of the "Otherworlds" in Celtic mythology.

An official stamp (£ 1.70) has also been applied to this letter, with a nice cancellation from Glasgow, depicting the facade of the Town Hall ("Glasgow City Chambers") and its Victorian architecture (building built between 1882 and 1889).

This small definitive stamp is part of a new Royal Mail series (4 stamps) put into circulation in 2021, devoted to each of the British "countries", the thistle here (sculpted by Tim Chalk) for Scotland (the other 3 stamps evoking England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
