EUROPA 2023 (Peace - the highest value of humanity) stamp on FDC from Germany

Sur proposition de la poste ukrainienne, le thème choisi par l'organisation PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA 2023 est "La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante" ("Frieden - höchstes Gut der Menschheit" en allemand), en écho à l'agression du pays par la Russie débutée il y a plus d'un an.
Ce choix sonne comme un rappel de la volonté qui avait présidé en 1950 à la création de l'Union européenne après la 2ème Guerre mondiale, résumée par Robert Schuman en une formule désormais célèbre : faire l'Europe pour faire la Paix.
Pour illustrer ce thème 2023, PostEurop a organisé un concours au sein des pays membres et c'est le projet "Nœud de la paix" de la poste luxembourgeoise (auteurs : Linda Bos et Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) qui a été choisi, parmi 29 propositions.
Ce projet représente des cœurs entrelacés, et des mains aux doigts entremêlés, inspirés des nœuds d'amour celtiques. Les différentes couleurs renvoient à tous les pays du monde, unis par ce nouveau symbole de paix, une sorte de société fondée sur la coopération, dans laquelle les individus sont solidaires.
On the proposal of the Ukrainian Post, the theme chosen by the PostEurop organization for the EUROPA 2023 stamps is "Peace - the highest value of humanity" ("Frieden - höchstes Gut der Menschheit" in German), echoing the aggression of the country by Russia which began more than one year ago.
This choice sounds like a reminder of the will that presided over the creation of the European Union in 1950 after the Second World War, summed up by Robert Schuman in a now famous formula: make Europe to make Peace.
To illustrate this 2023 theme, PostEurop organized a competition within the member countries and the Luxembourg Post's "Peace Knot" project (authors: Linda Bos and Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) was chosen from among 29 proposals.
This project represents intertwined hearts, and hands with intertwined fingers, inspired by Celtic love knots. The different colors refer to all the countries of the world, united by this new symbol of peace, a kind of society based on cooperation, in which individuals stand together.

Le 4 mai 2023, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique, reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun.
A noter que la Deutsche Post a participé à ce concours EUROPA organisé par PostEurop (avec un dessin représentant une colombe de la paix planant au-dessus des mains levées ouvertes sur un globe multicolore en arrière-plan) mais a choisi de ne pas émettre de 2ème timbre EUROPA le reproduisant...
Ce timbre (0,85€, avec code matriciel), mis en page par l'agence 2xGoldstein et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, figure sur cette lettre avec TAD Premier Jour de Berlin. Merci beaucoup Jens ! 
Selon le rapport du jury de PostEurop, ce motif "Nœud de la paix" est une métaphore visuelle d'une société pacifique dans laquelle la coopération dans le respect de la culture de chacun est centrale.
A noter ces timbres de complément afin d'atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (1,10€) jusqu'à 20g.
On May 4, 2023, the Deutsche Post released a unique EUROPA stamp, reproducing this common "Peace Knot".
To note that the Deutsche Post took part in this EUROPA competition organized by PostEurop (with a design representing a Dove of peace hovering over open raised hands on a multicolour globe as background) but chose not to issue a 2nd EUROPA stamp reproducing it...
This stamp (€0.85, with matrix code), laid out by the 2xGoldstein agency and printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is present on this cover with First Day cancellation from Berlin. Thank you very much Jens!
According to the PostEurop jury report, this "Peace Knot" motif is a visual metaphor for a peaceful society in which cooperation with respect for each other's culture is central.  
To note these additional stamps in order to reach the rate in force for a shipment in Europe (€1.10) up to 20g.

"Lakes and lagoons - 50 years of diplomatic relations" joint set with China, on cover from Spain

Série "Lacs et lagunes - 50 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec la Chine, sur lettre d'Espagne

Après 2004 (édifices urbains) et 2019 (nouvelle route de la soie), les administrations postales d'Espagne et de Chine ont mis en circulation, le 10 mai 2023, une 3ème série commune (2 timbres) à l'occasion du 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement des relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
Cette nouvelle série commune est en particulier consacrée à des lagunes naturelles, l'une en Espagne et l'autre en Chine, dans lesquelles les oiseaux sont les principaux protagonistes.
Actuellement, la Chine est le plus grand partenaire commercial de l'Espagne en dehors de l'Union européenne, et l'Espagne est le 5ème partenaire commercial de la Chine en son sein. Plus de 200000 chinois vivent dans les principales villes espagnoles.
La version espagnole de cette série commune (2 timbres se-tenant à 1,75€, tirage : 157000 chacun) a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le 22 mai 2023 depuis Madrid. Merci beaucoup Luis !
After 2004 (urban buildings) and 2019 (New Silk Road), the postal administrations of Spain and China put into circulation, on May 10, 2023, a 3rd joint series (2 stamps) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
This new joint series is particularly dedicated to natural lagoons, one in Spain and the other in China, in which birds are the main protagonists.
Currently, China is Spain's largest trading partner outside the European Union, and Spain is China's 5th largest trading partner within it. More than 200,000 Chinese live in the main Spanish cities.
The Spanish version of this joint series (2 se-tenant stamps at €1.75, print run: 157,000 each) was used on this cover sent on May 22, 2023 from Madrid. Thank you very much Luis!

La lagune Fuente de Piedra (timbre à gauche) est l'espace naturel le plus étendu d'Andalousie et offre un cadre privilégié pour la reproduction du flamant rose, en plus d'être une zone d'hivernage et de transit pour de nombreux autres oiseaux. Elle abrite la plus grande colonie de flamants de toute la péninsule Ibérique et la seconde d'Europe en importance après la Camargue française. Elle appartient à l'ensemble de lacs et lagunes de la région d'Antequera.
L'autre timbre représente une partie du lac Hengshui (province du Hebei), le 2ème plus grand lac d'eau douce du nord de la Chine, couvrant une superficie totale de 75 kilomètres carrés au sud de la ville de Hengshui. De nombreux oiseaux habitent ses eaux, notamment des grues à couronne rouge, des cygnes, des pélicans, des oies sauvages et des mouettes.
Ce lac est la seule réserve naturelle nationale de la plaine du nord de la Chine à conserver un écosystème complet de zones humides composé de marais, d'eau, de vasières, de prairies et de zones boisées.

The Fuente de Piedra lagoon (stamp on the left) is the most extensive natural space in Andalusia and offers a privileged setting for the reproduction of the pink flamingo, in addition to being a wintering and transit area for many others birds. It is home to the largest colony of flamingos in the entire Iberian Peninsula and the second largest in Europe after the French Camargue. It belongs to the set of lakes and lagoons of the Antequera region.
The other stamp depicts part of Hengshui Lake (Hebei Province), the 2nd largest freshwater lake in northern China, covering a total area of 75 square kilometers south of Hengshui City. Many birds inhabit its waters, including red-crowned cranes, swans, pelicans, wild geese and seagulls.
This lake is the only national nature reserve in the North China Plain to maintain a complete wetland ecosystem consisting of swamps, water, mudflats, grasslands and woodlands.

Le 9 mai 2023 (Journée de l'Europe), la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique, reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun.
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "E" pour un envoi jusqu'à 50g vers l'Europe - 39 CZK actuellement), mis en page par Kamil Knotek et imprimé en feuillet de 6 timbres, figure sur ce FDC officiel (tirage : 2400) avec TAD de Prague.
Sur cette enveloppe, la planète Terre est stylisée sous la forme d'un œuf couvé par une colombe dans son nid, symbole de paix. L'œuf symbolise aussi la fragilité et la vulnérabilité. C'est ce même œuf-Terre qui est reproduit sur le TAD.

On May 9, 2023 (the Europe Day), the Czech Post put into circulation a unique EUROPA stamp, reproducing this common "Peace Knot".
This stamp (permanent rate "E" for a shipment up to 50g to Europe - 39 CZK currently), laid out by Kamil Knotek and printed in a sheetlet of 6 stamps, is present on this official FDC (print run: 2,400) with cancellation from Prague.
On this envelope, the planet Earth is stylized in the form of an egg hatched by a dove in its nest, a symbol of peace. The egg also symbolizes fragility and vulnerability. It is this same egg-Earth which is reproduced on the postmark.

"200 years of post offices" stamp set on FDC from Portugal

Série "200 ans des bureaux de poste" sur FDC du Portugal

La création, en 1520, du rôle de Maître de la Poste du Royaume du Portugal par l'autorité centrale (à l'époque du roi Manuel Ier) marquait la reconnaissance de la nécessité d'acheminer le courrier au-delà des axes principaux qui étaient couverts, plus ou moins, par le réseau postal embryonnaire existant à l'époque.
Lisbonne, Porto et Coimbra faisaient partie de ce premier réseau, mais d'autres villes et lieux étaient à peine desservis par un service dédié. Et quand ils l'étaient, c'était au prix fort.
C'est pourquoi, à la fin du 16ème siècle, certaines villes ont créé leur propre système postal, le plus souvent sans consulter l'autorité centrale.
Cela a été le mieux illustré à Braga, où l'archidiocèse, certain de sa grande importance dans la péninsule ibérique en tant que primauté des Espagnes, a créé le poste de maître de poste de Braga en 1596, sans attendre l'autorisation. De nombreuses autres villes ont emboîté le pas au 17ème siècle comme Aveiro, Viseu, Guimarães, Tomar, Viana do Castelo.
Ces systèmes postaux fonctionnant en parallèle à ceux du maître de la poste royalement nommé (de 1520 à 1579) et de la famille Mata Coronel (à partir de 1606) étaient connus sous le nom de "Correios Assistentes" ("services postaux adjoints").
The creation, in 1520, of the role of Master of the Post of the Kingdom of Portugal by the central authority (at the time of King Manuel I) marked the recognition of the need to route mail beyond the main axes which were covered, more or less, by the embryonic postal network existing at the time.
Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra were part of this first network, but other cities and places were barely served by a dedicated service. And when they were, it was at high cost.
This is why, at the end of the 16th century, certain cities created their own postal system, generally without consulting the central authority.
This was best exemplified in Braga, where the Archdiocese, certain of its great importance in the Iberian Peninsula as the Primacy of the Spains, created the position of Postmaster of Braga in 1596, without waiting for permission. Many other cities followed suit in the 17th century like Aveiro, Viseu, Guimarães, Tomar, Viana do Castelo.
These postal systems operating in parallel to those of the royally appointed postmaster (from 1520 to 1579) and the Mata Coronel family (from 1606) were known as "Correios Assistentes" ("assistant postal services").

Lorsque la reine Marie Ière racheta le bureau pour la couronne, Diogo Mascarenhas Neto affirma à l'époque (1797-1799) qu'il y avait plus d'une centaine d'emplacements qui tenaient leurs propres "postes", avec un service postal très lent.
Les "Correios Assistentes" ont alors commencé à payer à la Couronne une redevance en échange de l'autorisation d'exercer leurs services.
L'embryon des bureaux de poste d'aujourd'hui doit être compris dans le contexte de ces "Correios Assistentes", qui au fil des ans se sont progressivement intégrés au service postal national.
Toute cette régulation de la prestation des services postaux par des "tiers" s'est déroulée au cours du 19ème siècle, c'est pourquoi on considère que la création des bureaux de poste a commencé il y a deux siècles, vers 1823.
Au 20ème siècle, l'image plus moderne du bureau postal apparaît, avec une boîte aux lettres sur la façade de l'établissement, qui reçoit les lettres au passage et se charge de les distribuer, en plus d'offrir des services postaux simples comme la vente de timbres.
CTT Correios de Portugal gère aujourd'hui environ 1800 bureaux de poste dans le cadre de son service, dont environ la moitié sont coordonnés par l'Association portugaise des paroisses (ANAFRE).
Le 28 avril 2023, CTT a mis en circulation une jolie série (4 timbres, tirage : 75000 chacun, conception : Unidesign / Hélder Soares) consacrée au 200ème anniversaire de la création de ces premiers bureaux de poste au Portugal.

Conçus à partir de document de la Fondation portugaise des communications (FPC), ces 4 timbres illustrent l'évolution de ces bureaux de poste eu fil de ces 2 siècles, ainsi que l'évolution des moyens de transport et du logo CTT.
A noter que ces timbres ont été imprimés en Belgique par bpost Philately & Stamps Printing, dont le logo figure dans les marges inférieures de feuilles (exemples ci-dessus).
When Queen Maria I bought back the office for the Crown, Diogo Mascarenhas Neto claimed at the time (1797-1799) that there were more than a hundred locations that held their own "posts", with a very slow postal service.
The "Correios Assistentes" then began to pay the Crown a fee in return for permission to perform their services.
The embryo of today's post offices must be understood in the context of these "Correios Assistentes", which over the years gradually became integrated into the national postal service.
All this regulation of the provision of postal services by "third parties" took place during the 19th century, which is why the creation of post offices is considered to have begun two centuries ago, around 1823.
In the 20th century, the more modern image of the post office appeared, with a mailbox on the facade of the establishment, which received letters in passing and had the responsibility of distributing them, as well as offering simple postal services such as selling stamps.
CTT Correios de Portugal today runs around 1,800 post offices as part of its service, around half of which are coordinated by the Portuguese Association of Parishes (ANAFRE).

"Iurii Grecov - 85 years from his birth" postmark on prepaid envelope from Moldova

TAD "Iurii Grecov - 85 ans de sa naissance" sur enveloppe pré-timbrée de Moldavie

Le 14 avril 2023, la poste moldave a mis en circulation un TAD spécial consacré au 85ème anniversaire de la naissance de l'écrivain et traducteur de langue russe Iurii Grecov (1938-2010).
Ce TAD, conçu par Eugeniu Verebceanu, a été appliqué par le bureau principal de Chişinău (MD-2012) sur cette enveloppe pré-timbrée (1 L, tirage : 50000, conception : Vitalie Roșca), mise en circulation le 16 avril 2008 à l'occasion du 60ème anniversaire de la création du magazine littéraire "Codrî. Moldova Literaturnaia". Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
De 1988 jusqu'à la fin de sa vie, Iurii Grecov a été en effet rédacteur en chef de ce magazine, connu dans tout l'espace ex-soviétique.
Il a travaillé dans des journaux régionaux jusqu'en 1964, puis dans la presse républicaine moldave. À partir de 1975, il est membre de l'Union des écrivains de l'URSS. 
On April 14, 2023, the Post of Moldova released a special postmark dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Russian-language writer and translator Iurii Grecov (1938-2010).
This postmark, designed by Eugeniu Verebceanu, was applied by the main post office in Chişinău (MD-2012) on this prepaid envelope (1 L, print run: 50,000, design: VItalie Roșca), put into circulation on April 16, 2008 in the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the literary magazine "Codrî. Moldova Literaturnaia". Thank you very much Nicolae!
From 1988 until the end of his life, Iurii Grecov was indeed editor-in-chief of this magazine, known throughout the former Soviet space.
He worked in regional newspapers until 1964, then in the Moldovan republican press. From 1975 he was a member of the USSR Writers' Union.

Iurii Grecov était un écrivain à l'ouverture encyclopédique, à l'esprit vif et pénétrant, qui s'intéressait aux cultures de plusieurs peuples.
L'écrivain représente l'image d'un esprit interculturel. Écrivain russophone, il a fait découvrir la langue moldave et l'histoire de la Moldavie. Il a également édité un livre intitulé "Eminescu au miroir de la philatélie" en moldave et en russe. Il a participé activement au mouvement de renouveau et de libération nationale en Moldavie.
Il a reçu la médaille "Mihai Eminescu" (1996), "l'Ordre Gloria Muncii" (1998) et "l'Ordre de la République" (2010).
Nicolae a utilisé d'autres timbres, en particulier un des 2 timbres (8,15 L) d'une série émise le 5 avril 2023 consacrée aux pompiers et secouristes. 
Iurii Grecov was a writer with an encyclopaedic outlook, a lively and penetrating mind, who was interested in the cultures of several peoples.
The writer represents the image of an intercultural spirit. A Russian-speaking writer, he introduced the Moldovan language and the history of Moldova. He also edited a book entitled "Eminescu in the mirror of philately" in Moldovan and Russian. He actively participated in the revival and national liberation movement in Moldova.
He was awarded the "Mihai Eminescu" medal (1996), the "Gloria Muncii Order" (1998) and the "Order of the Republic" (2010).
Nicolae used other stamps, in particular one of the two stamps (8.15 L) of a series issued on April 5, 2023 dedicated to firefighters and rescuers.

A noter que la poste finlandaise a participé à ce concours EUROPA organisé par PostEurop (avec un dessin représentant une jeune femme assise sur un rocher et regardant avec confiance vers l'avenir) mais a choisi de ne pas émettre de 2ème timbre EUROPA le reproduisant...
Ce timbre autocollant (tarif domestique permanent jusqu'à 50g - 2,30€ actuellement), imprimé en carnet de 10 timbres, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 1er jour d'émission depuis la ville de Mikkeli. Merci beaucoup Liisa !

UPAEP 2017 (touristic places) and 2018 (pets) stamps on cover from Chile

Timbres UPAEP 2017 (sites touristiques) et 2018 (animaux de compagnie) sur lettre du Chili

Les thèmes choisis en 2017 et 2018 pour les émissions de timbres América-UPAEP étaient respectivement consacrés aux sites touristiques ("Lugares turísticos" en espagnol) et aux animaux de compagnie ("Animales domésticos").
Pour rappel, l'UPAEP (Union Postale des Amériques, de l'Espagne et du Portugal) est une union restreinte de l'UPU, créée en 1911, regroupant une trentaine de pays et territoires.
A l'image des timbres EUROPA, des timbres UPAEP sont émis chaque année depuis 1989, par une quinzaine de pays environ.  
La poste chilienne est une des rares administrations postales à avoir émis des timbres UPAEP chaque année depuis 1989, en particulier en 2017 et 2018 avec des timbres émis le 31 octobre.
Ces 2 timbres (360 pesos, tirage : 50000 chacun) incluant le logo UPAEP, ont été utilisés sur cette lettre envoyée le 28 mars 2023 depuis la ville de San Felipe (région de Valparaíso). Merci beaucoup Rosa !  
The themes chosen in 2017 and 2018 for the América-UPAEP stamp issues were respectively devoted to touristic places ("Lugares turísticos" in Spanish) and pets ("Animales domésticos").
As a reminder, UPAEP (Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal) is a restricted union of the UPU, established in 1911, bringing together about thirty countries and territories.  
Such as EUROPA stamps, UPAEP stamps are issued each year since 1989 by about a dozen countries. 
The Chilean Post is one of the few postal administrations to have issued UPAEP stamps every year since 1989, in particular in 2017 and 2018 with stamps issued on October 31.
These two stamps (360 pesos, print run: 50,000 each) including the UPAEP logo, were used on this cover sent on March 28, 2023 from the city of San Felipe (Valparaíso region). Thank you very much Rosa!

Le timbre UPAEP 2017 (ci-dessus à droite), conçu par Mauricio Navarro Gonzales, est consacré au parc national Vicente Pérez Rosales, situé dans la région des Lacs. Créé en 1926, c'est le plus ancien parc national du Chili, faisant partie aujourd'hui de la réserve de biosphère des forêts tempérées humides des Andes australes (créée en 2007).
Les chutes d'eau de Petrohué et le volcan Osorno, 2 sites naturels emblématiques de ce par, sont représentés sur ce timbre, à l'intérieur d'un globe terrestre stylisé, avec présence de la carte du Chili à gauche et la mention "tourisme durable".
L'autre timbre UPAEP ci-dessus (conception : Daniela Valentini Vergara) est consacré à une race de chien locale, le terrier chilien, un petit chien (5 à 8 kilos) caractérisé par sa robe blanche, sa tête avec pelage noir et feu, et sa courte queue.
Non reconnue par la Fédération cynologique internationale (FCI), cette race aurait pour origine l'époque de la colonie lorsque des immigrants européens s'établissent en Amérique du Sud, apportant avec eux des chiens comme le fox terrier Straight Hair et l'Andalousian Winemaker, qui ont croisé des chiens locaux sans race définie. Ils ont donné vie au terrier chilien. Aux 18ème et 19ème siècles, la race se développa dans les "domaines" du centre-sud du Chili.
Une grande partie de sa popularité au Chili est due au caractère de la bande dessinée Condorito (créée en 1949 par le dessinateur René Pepo Ríos), toujours accompagné de son fidèle Terrier chilien "Washington".
The UPAEP 2017 stamp (above right), designed by Mauricio Navarro Gonzales, is dedicated to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, located in the Los Lagos region. Created in 1926, it is Chile's oldest national park, now part of the Temperate Rainforests of the Southern Andes Biosphere Reserve (created in 2007).
The Petrohué waterfalls and the Osorno volcano, 2 emblematic natural sites of this region, are represented on this stamp, inside a stylized terrestrial globe, with the presence of the map of Chile on the left and the mention "sustainable tourism".
The other UPAEP stamp above (design: Daniela Valentini Vergara) is dedicated to a local breed of dog, the Chilean terrier, a small dog (5 to 8 kilos) characterized by its white dress, its head with black and tan fur, and its short tail.
Not recognized by the International Canine Federation (FCI), this breed is believed to have originated in colonial times when European immigrants settled in South America, bringing with them dogs like the Straight Hair Fox Terrier and Andalusian Winemaker, which crossed local dogs with no defined breed. They brought the Chilean terrier to life. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the breed developed in the "estates" of south-central Chile.
Much of its popularity in Chile is due to the cartoon character Condorito (created in 1949 by cartoonist René Pepo Ríos), always accompanied by his faithful Chilean Terrier "Washington". 

EUROPA 2023 (Peace - the highest value of humanity) stamp set on FDC from Latvia

Série EUROPA 2023 (La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante) sur FDC de Lettonie

Sur proposition de la poste ukrainienne, le thème choisi par l'organisation PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA 2023 est "La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante" ("Miers - cilvēces augstākā vērtība" en letton), en écho à l'agression du pays par la Russie débutée il y a plus d'un an.
Ce choix sonne comme un rappel de la volonté qui avait présidé en 1950 à la création de l'Union européenne après la 2ème Guerre mondiale, résumée par Robert Schuman en une formule désormais célèbre : faire l'Europe pour faire la Paix.
Pour illustrer ce thème 2023, PostEurop a organisé un concours au sein des pays membres et c'est le projet "Nœud de la paix" de la poste luxembourgeoise (auteurs : Linda Bos et Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) qui a été choisi, parmi 29 propositions.
Ce projet représente des cœurs entrelacés, et des mains aux doigts entremêlés, inspirés des nœuds d'amour celtiques. Les différentes couleurs renvoient à tous les pays du monde, unis par ce nouveau symbole de paix, une sorte de société fondée sur la coopération, dans laquelle les individus sont solidaires.
On the proposal of the Ukrainian Post, the theme chosen by the PostEurop organization for the EUROPA 2023 stamps is "Peace - the highest value of humanity" ("Miers - cilvēces augstākā vērtība" in Latvian), echoing the aggression of the country by Russia which began more than one year ago.
This choice sounds like a reminder of the will that presided over the creation of the European Union in 1950 after the Second World War, summed up by Robert Schuman in a now famous formula: make Europe to make Peace.
To illustrate this 2023 theme, PostEurop organized a competition within the member countries and the Luxembourg Post's "Peace Knot" project (authors: Linda Bos and Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) was chosen from among 29 proposals.
This project represents intertwined hearts, and hands with intertwined fingers, inspired by Celtic love knots. The different colors refer to all the countries of the world, united by this new symbol of peace, a kind of society based on cooperation, in which individuals stand together.

Le 9 mai 2023 (Journée de l'Europe), la poste de la Lettonie a mis en circulation sa série EUROPA, avec un timbre reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun et un timbre représentant une colombe de la paix multicolore (conçu par l'artiste estonien Indrek Ilves).

Ces 2 timbres correspondent respectivement à l'envoi d'une lettre jusqu'à 20g vers les pays de la zone 8 (1,63€, tirage : 62000) et à l'envoi d'une lettre jusqu'à 20g vers les pays de la zone 7 (1,82€, tirage : 50000), dont fait partie la France.
Comme cela est le cas depuis 2018, ces 2 timbres ont la particularité d'avoir été imprimés (par "Baltijas Banknote") chacun en feuillet de 10 timbres composé de 5 paires tête-bêche.
Selon le rapport du jury de PostEurop, ce motif "Nœud de la paix" est une métaphore visuelle d'une société pacifique dans laquelle la coopération dans le respect de la culture de chacun est centrale. 
On May 9, 2023 (the Europe Day), the Post of Latvia released its EUROPA series, with a stamp reproducing this common "Peace Knot" and a stamp depicting a multicolored peace dove (designed by Estonian artist Indrek Ilves).

"Customs treaty - 100th anniversary" joint stamp set with Liechtenstein, on FDC from Switzerland

Série "100 ans du traité douanier", commune avec le Liechtenstein, sur FDC de Suisse

La principauté du Liechtenstein et la Suisse fêtent cette année un anniversaire important: le traité d'union douanière entre les deux pays a été signé le 29 mars 1923, il y a 100 ans.
Les administrations postales des 2 pays ont célébré cet anniversaire en émettant, le 29 mars 2023, une série commune (2 timbres) consacrée aux 100 ans de ce traité douanier.
Ce traité concernant la réunion de la principauté du Liechtenstein au territoire douanier suisse est considéré comme un facteur essentiel de l'essor économique du Liechtenstein au 20ème siècle. Le petit état fait depuis partie du territoire douanier suisse et le franc suisse est sa devise officielle.
Ce traité international stipule qu'aucune taxe ne doit être imposée de part et d'autre de la frontière et qu'aucune interdiction d'importation et d'exportation ne doit être promulguée.
Dans les années 1990, le traité international a été adapté à l'évolution des besoins. Depuis, le Liechtenstein peut conclure des conventions internationales et devenir membre d'organisations internationales relevant du traité d'union douanière, que la Suisse en soit également membre ou pas. 
The Principality of Liechtenstein and Switzerland are celebrating an important anniversary this year: the customs union treaty between the two countries was signed on March 29, 1923, 100 years ago.
The postal administrations of the two countries celebrated this anniversary by issuing, on March 29, 2023, a joint series (2 stamps) dedicated to the 100th anniversary of this customs treaty.
This treaty concerning the reunion of the Principality of Liechtenstein with the Swiss customs territory is considered to be an essential factor in the economic development of Liechtenstein in the 20th century. The small state has since been part of the Swiss customs territory and the Swiss franc is its official currency.
This international treaty stipulates that no taxes should be imposed on either side of the border and that no import and export bans should be enacted.
In the 1990s, the state treaty was adapted to changing needs. Since then, Liechtenstein has been able to accede to international conventions and become a member of international organisations within the scope of the customs treaty, regardless of whether Switzerland is also a member of them.

La version suisse de cette série commune (chaque timbre a été imprimé en feuille de 16 timbres, imprimeur : Gutenberg AG au Liechtenstein) a été utilisée sur cette lettre, avec TAD Premier Jour de Berne. Merci beaucoup Jürgen !
Ce TAD a été conçu à partir de la fermeture éclair qui figure sur le timbre à gauche (1,10 CHF), conçu par Serap Bulut, intitulé "Relation".
La fermeture éclair dessinée sur ce timbre symbolise l'alliance des deux pays (drapeaux respectifs de chaque côté) et la proximité acquise grâce à elle au fil des ans. On y voit également le Rhin, une frontière naturelle abolie avec le traité douanier.
L'autre timbre (0,90 CHF), conçu par Isabella Gassner et intitulé "Amitié", souligne quant à lui l'importance historique de ces relations de longue date entre les 2 pays et reproduit des éléments du traité d'origine de 1923.
A noter sur ce timbre la mention "100 ans du traité douanier - 29.03.2023" en allemand, imprimée avec une encre spéciale avec effet doré.
La principauté du Liechtenstein a déjà émis plusieurs timbres dans le passé consacré à ce traité douanier, en 1998 et 2013 en particulier.
The Swiss version of this joint series (each stamp was printed in sheet of 16 stamps, printer: Gutenberg AG, Liechtenstein) was used on this cover, with First Day cancellation from Bern. Thank you very much Jürgen!
This postmark was designed from the zipper that appears on the stamp on the left (1.10 CHF), designed by Serap Bulut, entitled "Relationship".
The zip drawn on this stamp symbolizes the alliance of the two countries (respective flags on each side) and the closeness acquired thanks to it over the years. We also see the Rhine, a natural border abolished with the customs treaty.
The other stamp (0.90 CHF), designed by Isabella Gassner and entitled "Friendship", underlines the historical importance of these long-standing relations between the two countries and reproduces elements of the original treaty of 1923.
To note on this stamp the mention "100 years of the customs treaty - 29.03.2023" in German, printed with a special ink with golden effect.
The Principality of Liechtenstein has already issued several stamps in the past devoted to this customs treaty, in 1998 and 2013 in particular.
