"Philately and Liberty" Congress

Les 12 et 13 mars 2011, l'association philatélique de Boulogne-Billancourt organisait cette année le 29ème congrès régional du groupement des associations philatéliques de Paris - Ile-de-France (GAPHIL), dans les salons de la mairie de la ville.
Ce congrès avait pour thème "Philatélie et Liberté" avec la statue de la Liberté (la Liberté éclairant le monde) à l'honneur à l'occasion du 125ème anniversaire de son inauguration à New-York.
On March 12 and 13, 2011, the Philatelic Association of the city of Boulogne-Billancourt organized this year the 29th Regional Congress of the Parisian Region's Philatelic Associations (GAPHIL), in the salons of the town hall.
The theme of this congress was "Philately and Liberty" with the Statue of Liberty ("Liberty Enlightening the World") in the spotlight at the occasion of the 125th anniversary of its inauguration in New York.

Mais quel rapport entre cette statue et la ville de Boulogne-Billancourt ??
C'est en effet dans cette ville que le sculpteur Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi a conçu, entre autres, la tête de cette Liberté éclairant le monde !
Le moulage de cette tête fait d'ailleurs partie des collections du musée des années 30 de la ville.
Normal donc que l'oblitération spéciale émise lors de ce congrès reprenne la tête de cette statue !
C'est ce timbre à date qui figure sur la lettre ci-dessus postée lors de ce congrès. Merci beaucoup Pierre :-)
J'ai déjà évoqué dans un message précédent le timbre utilisé ci-dessus (Élise Deroche) faisant partie d'une série de 6 timbres "Pionniers de l'aviation" émis le 18 octobre 2010.
A noter aussi que l'association philatélique de Boulogne-Billancourt a aussi émis des timbres personnalisés (type MonTimbraMoi) représentant le moulage de cette même tête.
But what is the link between this statue and the town of Boulogne-Billancourt ??
It's indeed in this city that the French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi has designed, among others, the head of the "Liberty Enlightening the World" statue !
The molding of this head is moreover today part of the collections of the Museum of the 30's in this city.
Therefore normal that the special cancellation issued during this Congress was featuring the head of this statue !
It's this postmark that appears on the letter above mailed from this philatelic event. Thank you very much Pierre :-)
I've already mentioned in a previous post the stamp used above (Élise Deroche) part of a series of six "Pioneers of Aviation" stamps issued on October 18, 2010.
To note also that the Philatelic Association of Boulogne-Billancourt has also issued a personalized stamps ("MonTimbraMoi") depicting the molding of that same Liberty's head.
