Le 12 mars 2014, la poste espagnole a mis en circulation les 2 premiers timbres (0,54€, tirage : 300000 chacun) d'une nouvelle série consacrée aux musées du pays, le musée de Guadalajara et le musée d'art abstrait espagnol de Cuenca ici.

Le Musée d'art abstrait espagnol de Cuenca, créé en 1966 par Fernando Zóbel, est situé dans les Casas Colgadas ("maisons suspendues"), le bâtiment le plus emblématique de cette ville.
Le musée expose plus de 100 œuvres de peinture et sculpture par des artistes espagnols ayant marqué les tendances abstraites des années 1950 et 1960 (Gustavo Torner, Gregorio Rueda, Saura, Chillida, Tapies, Feito, Sempere, Millares et Chirino, Zóbel...).
Le timbre montre ces "Casas Colgadas" à gauche ainsi qu'une peinture de Fernando Zóbel (1924-1984) intitulée "Jardín seco" (1969).

The Museum of Spanish Abstract Art of Cuenca, created in 1966 by Fernando Zóbel, is located in the "Casas Colgadas" ("Hanging Houses"), the most emblematic building of this city.
The museum displays more than 100 works of painting and sculpture by Spanish artists having marked the abstract tendencies of the 1950s and 1960s (Gustavo Torner, Gregorio Rueda, Saura, Chillida, Tapies, Feito, Sempere, Millares et Chirino, Zóbel...).
The stamp shows these "Hanging Houses" on the left as well as a painting by Fernando Zóbel (1924-1984) entitled "Jardín seco" (1969).

Le Musée de Guadalajara, créé en 1838 et installé dans le Palais de l'Infantado depuis 1973, est le plus ancien musée provincial d'Espagne.
Ses collections incluent des oeuvres de la peinture, la sculpture ainsi que des vestiges archéologiques et ethnographiques à travers trois sections : Beaux-Arts, Archéologie (objets issus de fouilles archéologiques dans cette région) et Ethnographie (coutumes populaires locales).
Ce timbre représente différentes pièces des collections de ce musée : une sculpture féminine d'époque romaine (2ème siècle après JC), un stuc et un vase décorés ainsi que la façade principale du musée à droite.
The Museum of Guadalajara, established in 1838 and installed in the Palacio del Infantado since 1973, is the oldest provincial museum in Spain.
Its collections include works of painting, sculpture and archaeological and ethnographic artefacts through three sections : Fine Arts, Archaeology (objects from archaeological excavations in this region) and Ethnography (local folk customs).
This stamp features different pieces of the collections of this museum : a female sculpture from the Roman era (2nd century AD), a decorated plasterwork and glass as well as the main facade of the museum to the right.
