Le 27 septembre 2014, la poste de Moldavie a mis en circulation sa 11ème enveloppe pré-timbrée de l'année, consacrée cette fois à Interpol, l'organisation internationale de police criminelle (OIPC) créée en 1923 afin de promouvoir la coopération policière internationale et la lutte contre la criminalité.
Cette organisation internationale, dont le siège est situé dans ma ville de Lyon depuis 1989, regroupe aujourd'hui 190 pays (la Corée du Nord et plusieurs pays d'Océanie n'en font pas partie), dont la Moldavie qui en est membre depuis le 28 septembre 1994.

On September 27, 2014, the Post of Moldova has released its 11th pre-stamped envelope of the year, this time devoted to Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO), created in 1923 to promote international police cooperation and the fight against organized crime.
This international organization, which is headquartered in my hometown of Lyon since 1989, is today composed of 190 countries (North Korea and several countries of Oceania are not part of it), including Moldova, a member state since September 28, 1994.

Cette enveloppe est au tarif postal (4,50 L) correspondant à un envoi par voie terrestre d'une lettre jusqu'à 20g vers les pays de la Zone A (dont la France fait partie).
Avec ce document philatélique, la poste moldave a voulu célébrer deux anniversaires : 100 ans de coopération policière internationale et 20ème anniversaire de la création du bureau national central (NCB) d'Interpol à Chișinău.
A noter l'illustration à gauche sur cette enveloppe montrant le siège d'Interpol à Lyon.
Même si Interpol a été créé officiellement en 1923, ses prémices datent en effet de 1914 lorsque le 1er congrès international de police criminelle (réunissant alors 14 pays) eu lieu à Monaco. La 1ère guerre mondiale a alors interrompu ce processus de coopération internationale...
This envelope has a postage rate (L 4.50) corresponding to a dispatch by land of a letter up to 20g to the countries of the zone A (France is part of this zone).
With this philatelic item, the Post of Moldova wanted to celebrate two anniversaries : 100 years of international police cooperation and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) in Chişinău.

Even if Interpol was formally established in 1923, its beginnings actually date back to 1914 when the first International Criminal Police Congress (then gathering 14 countries) was held in Monaco. WW1 then interrupted this process of international cooperation...
Ce Congrès fut organisé en 1914 à Monaco à l'initiative du prince Albert Ier et 100 ans après, la 83ème assemblée générale d'Interpol aura lieu symboliquement à nouveau à Monaco du 3 au 7 novembre 2014.
Le timbre spécial ci-dessus sera émis à cette occasion par l'OETP de Monaco.
This Congress was organized in 1914 in Monaco at the initiative of Prince Albert I and 100 years later, the 83rd Interpol General Assembly will take place again symbolically in Monaco from 3 to 7 November 2014.
The special stamp above will be issued at this occasion by Monaco's OETP.
