Un grand merci Bret pour cette carte postale très spéciale, envoyée le 12 septembre 2014 depuis le plus haut bureau de poste de la République Tchèque, situé au sommet de la montagne Sněžka ("Śnieżka" en polonais) à 1602 mètres d'altitude :-)
Cette montagne, à la fois le point culminant de la chaîne des monts des Géants (appelée "Karkonosze" en polonais et "Krkonoše" en tchèque) et du pays, est situé à la frontière entre la Pologne et la République Tchèque, dans le nord du pays.
A noter le TAD spécial à droite, montrant le profil de ce mont Sněžka, ainsi que les 2 cachets verts à gauche, évoquant et montrant ce bureau postal et son altitude.
A big thank you Bret for this very special postcard, sent on September 12, 2014 from the highest post office in Czech Republic, located at the top of the Sněžka moutain (called "Śnieżka" in Polish) at an altitude of 1602 meters above sea level :-)
This mountain, both the highest point of the Giant Mountains (called "Karkonosze" in Polish and "Krkonoše" in Czech) and of the country, is located on the border between Poland and Czech Republic, in the north of the country.
To note the special hand cancellation to the right, showing the profile of this Sněžka mountain, as well as the two green cachets to the left, mentioning and showing this post office and its altitude.
Bret a utilisé 2 timbres identiques (13 Kč), émis le 31 juillet 2013 suite à un changement des tarifs postaux, représentant la statue équestre en bronze de Saint-Venceslas située à Prague sur la place Venceslas, oeuvre du sculpteur Josef Václav Myslbek (officiellement inaugurée en 1912).
Saint-Venceslas Ier de Bohême (né vers 907, mort en 929 ou 935) est considéré comme le saint patron du pays et un symbole de l'autonomie tchèque.
Bret used two identical stamps (13 Kč), issued on July 31, 2013 following a change in Czech postal rates, featuring the bronze equestrian statue of St. Wenceslas located in Prague on Wenceslas Square, a work by sculptor Josef Václav Myslbek (officially inaugurated in 1912).
Saint Wenceslas I of Bohemia (born about 907, died in 929 or 935) is considered as the patron saint of the country and a symbol of Czech independence.
Sur la face illustrée de cette carte postale ci-dessus, on peut voir les différents édifices construits au sommet de cette montagne Sněžka, dont le nouveau bureau de poste (le bâtiment le plus à gauche ici), inauguré en 2007 sur l'emplacement d'un ancien refuge.
A noter que l'ancien bureau de poste, mis en service au milieu du 19ème siècle, a été démonté en 2009 puis déplacé et remonté dans la commune de Sedlec-Prčice (Bohême centrale) !
On the illustrated side of this postcard above, we can see the different buildings built atop this Sněžka mountain, including the new post office (the leftmost building here), opened in 2007 on the site of a former refuge.
To note that the old post office, commissioned in the mid 19th century, was dismantled in 2009 and then moved and rebuilt in the town of Sedlec-Prčice (Central Bohemia) !
