Ramaswamy Venkataraman (1910-2009) (timbre émis le 18 avril 2012) fut ministre à plusieurs reprises à l'époque d'Indira Gandhi puis vice-président entre 1984 et 1987 et président de l'Inde entre 1987 et 1992.
Durga Prasad Chaudhary (timbre émis le 31 juillet 2012), un combattant de la liberté et de l'indépendance, fut le fondateur du quotidien "Dainik Navajyoti" il y a 75 ans (créé en 1936, l'année de naissance du Mahatma Gandhi). Publié dans la région de Rajasthan, ce journal dénonçait à l'époque l'occupation des troupes britanniques.

Published in the region of Rajasthan, this newspaper at the time denounced the occupation of British troops.
M.B. Kadadi, alias Appasaheb (1909-1992) (timbre émis le 17 mai 2012), a été inspiré par le Mahatma Gandhi et a voué une grande partie de sa vie à la santé et à l'éducation en contribuant à créer de nombreuses institutions dans sa région de Solapur en particulier.
Shyam Narayan Singh (1901-1968) (timbre émis le 24 janvier 2012), fut un combattant pour la liberté du pays, un législateur et éducateur, en particulier dans son état du Bihar (nord-est du pays).

Puran Chandra Gupta (1912-1986) (timbre émis le 2 janvier 2012), fut un des pionniers du journalisme Hindi et fondateur et éditeur du groupe de média "Dainik Jagran", juste après l'indépendance du pays en 1947.
