"David Bowie - 75th birth anniversary" stamp on FDC from Germany

Timbre "David Bowie - 75 ans de la naissance" sur FDC d'Allemagne

Le 3 janvier 2022, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation un timbre (0,85€) consacré au célèbre musicien, chanteur, auteur-compositeur-interprète et acteur britannique David Bowie (1947-2016) à l'occasion du 75ème anniversaire de sa naissance.
Conçu par Thomas Steinacker à partir d'une photographie de Bowie (par le photographe américain Greg Gorman) datant de 1984, ce timbre (en rupture de stock actuellement) incluant un code matriciel, imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, figure sur cette lettre avec TAD Premier Jour bleu de Berlin. David Bowie était l'un des musiciens pop les plus polyvalents et les plus influents du 20ème siècle. Entre la fin des années 1960 et le milieu des années 1970, il expérimente des formes d'expression multimédia et sort les albums "The Man Who Sold the World", "Space Oddity" et "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars". En 1976, il s'installe à Berlin et enregistre "Low" and "Heroes".
On January 3, 2022, the Deutsche Post put into circulation a stamp (€ 0.85) dedicated to the famous British musician, singer, singer-songwriter and actor David Bowie (1947-2016) on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his birth.
Designed by Thomas Steinacker from a photograph of Bowie (by American photographer Greg Gorman) dating from 1984, this stamp (currently out of stock) including a matrix code, printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is present on this letter with blue First Day cancellation from Berlin. David Bowie was one of the most versatile and influential pop musicians of the 20th century. Between the late 1960s and the mid-1970s, he experimented with forms of multimedia expression and released the albums "The Man Who Sold the World", "Space Oddity" and "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from March". In 1976 he moved to Berlin and recorded "Low" and "Heroes".

 

En 1992, Bowie a sorti l'un des premiers CD-ROM de l'histoire du rock, "Jump". En 1999, il a été nommé Commandeur de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres et en 2007, il a reçu le Webby Lifetime Achievement Award lors de la 11e édition des Webby Awards, considérés comme les « Oscars de l'Internet », pour son approche novatrice de l'art et la technologie.
En 2012, une exposition sur David Bowie, organisée par le célèbre Victoria and Albert Museum, a été présentée dans diverses villes du monde et a battu des records de fréquentation aux États-Unis, à Berlin et en France.
"Blackstar", le dernier album studio de David Bowie, sorti le jour de son 69ème anniversaire, a été son premier album à atteindre la 1ère place des charts aux États-Unis et dans de nombreux pays.
David Bowie est décédé le 10 janvier 2016 des suites d'une longue maladie. Son travail, son influence intergénérationnelle et son innovation sans faille vivront pour toujours.
A noter que la Royal Mail a déjà émis plusieurs timbres consacrés à Bowie, Saint-Marin ayant émis un bloc-feuillet (3 timbres) en 2017 (70 ans de sa naissance).

In 2012, an exhibition on David Bowie, organized by the famous Victoria and Albert Museum, was shown in various cities around the world and broke attendance records in the United States, Berlin and France.

"Blackstar", David Bowie's last studio album, released on his 69th birthday, was his first album to reach No. 1 on the charts in the United States and in many countries.

David Bowie died on January 10, 2016 after a long illness. His work, his intergenerational influence and his relentless innovation will live on forever.
