170 ans après (jour pour jour), la poste de Hong Kong a commémoré cet anniversaire en émettant un très intéressant bloc-feuillet (10$) conçu par Bon Kwan.
C'est ce bloc, imprimé par le néerlandais Joh. Enschedé, qui figure sur le joli FDC officiel ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Trudy :-)
Le timbre inclus dans ce bloc a 3 particularités : les 2 boîtes aux lettres apparaissent en léger relief, la valeur nominale et la légende centrale sont imprimées en caractères dorés et 2 étoiles ont été incluses au milieu des dentelures verticales !

170 years later (to the day), the Post of Hong Kong has commemorated this anniversary by issuing a very interesting souvenir sheet ($ 10.00) designed by Bon Kwan.

The stamp included in this sheet has three characteristics : the two embossed mailboxes, the golden nominal value and the central words and the star-shaped perforations on each vertical !
Le timbre est divisé en 2 parties évoquant chacune le passé et le présent. Une boîte aux lettres rouge typiquement britannique (incluant le monogramme de la reine Victoria), utilisée à Hong Kong entre 1837 et 1901, figure ainsi à gauche alors qu'une version moderne d'une boîte aux lettres verte est représentée à droite.
L'ancien bureau de poste principal, ouvert en 1911 (à gauche) ainsi que l'actuel bureau postal, ouvert en 1976, sont également représentés dans le fond avec des exemples de timbres à date en vigueur en 1841 et aujourd'hui.
La marge à droite évoque l'innovation et le présent avec ce globe terrestre et les différents services proposés par la poste de Hong Kong au public, en particulier la vente de timbres-poste !
Un colibri, symbole de vitesse et de détermination, figure enfin dans cette marge. Cet oiseau est représenté de façon stylisée sur le logo de la poste de Hong Kong, inclus sur l'oblitération Premier Jour.
The stamp is divided into two parts each evoking the past and present. A typically British red mailbox (including the monogram of Queen Victoria), used in Hong Kong between 1837 and 1901, appears then to the left while a current version of a green mailbox is depicted on the right.
The old general post office, opened in 1911 (to the left) and the current main post office opened in 1976, are also featured in the background with two examples of postmarks used in 1841 and in force today.
The right margin refers to innovation and the present with this globe and the service brands of Hong Kong Post, particularly the sale of postage stamps !
A hummingbird, a symbol of speed and purpose, is finally also depicted in this margin. This stylized bird is featured on the logo of the Hong Kong Post, included on the FDC cancellation.
