Pape et compositeur sur lettre slovaque

Le 1er mai 2011, le pape Benoît XVI a officiellement béatifié son prédécesseur, Jean-Paul II, seulement 6 ans après sa mort...
Un miracle lui a en effet été attribué : une nonne française a été guérie de la maladie de Parkinson.
Je ne suis pas catholique mais pour moi, cette béatification permet de rendre hommage au rôle déterminant de Jean-Paul II dans la libération des pays d'Europe de l'est, de la Pologne (son pays natal) en particulier.
Comme d'autres administrations postales (Vatican, Pologne, Italie, Philippines...), la poste de Slovaquie a émis, le 29 avril 2011, un timbre spécial (0,40€) consacré à cette béatification de Jean-Paul II.

His first miracle was indeed confirmed : a French nun was cured of Parkinson's disease.
I'm not Catholic but as to me, this beatification allows also to pay tribute to the important role of John Paul II in the liberation of the Eastern Europe countries, Poland (his home country) in particular.
Like other postal administrations (Vatican, Poland, Italy, Philippines...), the Post of Slovakia has issued on April 29, 2011, a special stamp (€ 0.40) devoted to the beatification of John Paul II.

Ce timbre gravé a été émis en feuillet de 4 timbres avec une marge centrale représentant le crucifix qui figurait au sommet de la crosse de Jean-Paul II (vignette à gauche sur l'enveloppe).
L'autre timbre, émis le 29 juillet 2011, commémore le 100ème anniversaire de la naissance du compositeur slovaque Ján Cikker (1911-1989).
L'oeuvre abondante de Ján Cikker (plusieurs symphonies, opéras...) est caractérisée par un style vigoureux et un sens dramatique naturel. Cikker est considéré comme le maître incontesté de l'école classique slovaque moderne.

This engraved stamp was issued in sheetlet of four stamps with a central margin featuring the crucifix that was on the top of the John Paul II's crosier (included to the left on the envelope).
The other stamp, issued on July 29, 2011, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Slovak composer Ján Cikker (1911-1989).
The abundant work of Ján Cikker (many symphonies, operas...) is characterized by a vigorous style and a natural sense of drama. Cikker is considered as the undisputed master of the modern Slovak classical music.
