Comme elle le fait chaque année, la poste moldave a émis, le 20 juillet 2013, une nouvelle série de 2 timbres consacrée à 2 personnalités illustres, originaires de la région historique de Bessarabie ("Basarabia").
Pour rappel et pour simplifier, cette région a été annexée par les russes à partir de 1812 puis rattachée à la Roumanie entre 1918 et 1944 puis à l'URSS jusqu'en 1991.
La Bessarabie est partagée depuis 1991 entre la Moldavie (2 tiers du territoire) et l'Ukraine (1 tiers du territoire).
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les 2 plis Premier Jour officiels ci-dessous (tirage : 300 chacun) concernant ces 2 timbres, avec TAD de Chisinau. Merci beaucoup Sergio :-)
As it's the case every year, the Post of Moldova has issued on July 20, 2013, a new set of two stamps dedicated to two famous personalities native from the historical region of Bessarabia ("Basarabia").
As a reminder and to make it simple, this region was annexed by Russia in 1812, then part of Romania between 1918 and 1944 and of USSR until 1991.
Bessarabia is shared since 1991 between Moldova (two thirds of the territory) and Ukraine (one third of the territory).
I was lucky enough to receive the two official First Day Covers below (print run : 300 only each) regarding these two stamps, with postmarks from Chisinau. Thank you very much Sergio :-)

Le 1er timbre ci-dessus commémore le 70ème anniversaire de la naissance d'Adrian Păunescu (1943-2010), poète, journaliste et homme politique dans la Roumanie voisine.
Adrian Păunescu a été un écrivain prolifique (plus de 50 ouvrages) et sa poésie est considérée comme sentimentale et mélancolique.
Păunescu, qui intervenait à la télévision roumaine plusieurs fois par semaine dans un style très populiste, est accusé par certains d'avoir fait partie du cercle rapproché des Ceaușescu et on lui reproche parfois son virage vers un nationalisme xénophobe à partir des années 1990...

The first stamp above commemorates the 70th anniversary of the birth of Adrian Păunescu (1943-2010), poet, journalist and politician in neighboring Romania.
Adrian Păunescu was a prolific writer (over 50 books) and his poetry is considered sentimental and melancholic.
Păunescu, who was speaking on Romanian television several times a week in a very populist style, is accused by some of having been part of the inner circle of Ceauşescu and sometimes criticized for his shift to a xenophobic nationalism from the 1990s...
Le 2ème timbre ci-dessus est consacré à Anton Crihan (1893-1993), homme politique (député et ministre) et professeur, à l'occasion du 120ème anniversaire de sa naissance.
Anton Crihan fut un fervent partisan du rapprochement de la Bessarabie avec la Roumanie voisine, ce qui fut fait à travers la proclamation de l'union de la République démocratique moldave (le nom pris par la Bessarabie autonome après la Révolution russe de 1917) et la Roumanie.
C'est cette déclaration d'union, signée en avril 1918, qui est représentée à gauche sur cette enveloppe ci-dessus.
Le palais du conseil, siège du Sfatul Țării (l'assemblée qui proclama l'indépendance de la République démocratique moldave) à Chisinau, est représenté dans le fond sur ce timbre.
The second stamp above is devoted to Anton Crihan (1893-1993), politician (member of parliament and minister) and professor, at the occasion of the 120th anniversary of his birth.
Anton Crihan was a strong supporter of the rapprochement of Bessarabia with neighboring Romania, which was done through the proclamation of the union of the Moldavian Democratic Republic (the name taken by the autonomous Bessarabia after the Russian Revolution of 1917) and Romania.
It is this declaration of union, signed in April 1918, that is shown to the left on this FDC above.
The palace of Sfatul Ţării (the assembly that proclaimed the independence of the Moldavian Democratic Republic) in Chisinau, is featured in this stamp's background.
