Le 26 février 2019, l'UFN (Ufficio Filatelico Numismatico) de Saint-Marin a mis en circulation sa série EUROPA illustrant cette année le thème des oiseaux nationaux ("Volatili nazionali" en italien).
Merci beaucoup Salvatore pour cette jolie lettre envoyée le premier jour d'émission depuis Dogana, la ville la plus peuplée du pays, située à la frontière nord-est avec l'Italie, affranchie avec cette série EUROPA 2019 !
Ces 2 timbres, conçus par Mauro Mazzara, ont été imprimés chacun en feuillet de 12 timbres (tirage : 60000 chacun), par Cartor Security Printing (France), avec une encre invisible spéciale fluorescente Pantone et jaune (logo EUROPA, armoiries, valeur faciale, San Marino).
Le rendu de ces parties de couleur orange est malheureusement terne après scan de cette enveloppe...

Thank you very much Salvatore for this nice letter sent the first day of issue from Dogana, the most populous city in the country, located on the north-east border with Italy, stamped with this EUROPA 2019 set!
These two stamps, designed by Mauro Mazzara, were each printed in a sheetlet of 12 stamps (print run: 60,000 each), by Cartor Security Printing, France, with a special Pantone and yellow invisible fluorescent ink (EUROPA logo, coat of arms, nominal value, San Marino).
The rendering of these parts of orange color is unfortunately dull after scanning this envelope ...
La République de Saint-Marin n'a pas officiellement d'oiseau national, cette série étant consacré au faucon pèlerin (Falco peregrinus), une espèce de rapaces robuste (présente sur les 5 continents), de taille moyenne, réputée pour être l'oiseau le plus rapide du monde en piqué (320 km/h).
Cet oiseau niche en particulier dans la falaise près de la Première tour ou forteresse de Guaita (représentée dans le fond sur les 2 timbres), la plus ancienne (11ème siècle) et la plus grande des trois tours construites sur le mont Titano.
Le premier timbre (1,10€) représente un jeune faucon sur une branche avec un de ses parents en vol, l'autre timbre (1,15€) montrant un faucon avec deux poussins.
Parmi la centaine d'espèces d'oiseaux recensées à Saint-Marin, une 2ème espèce de faucon, le faucon crécerelle a également été observée.
The Republic of San Marino does not officially have a national bird, this series being devoted to the peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), a robust raptor species (present on the 5 continents), of medium size, known to be the the world's fastest bird in dive (over 320 km/h).
This bird nests in particular in the cliff near the First Tower or Fortress of Guaita (represented in the background on the two stamps), the oldest (11th century) and largest of the three towers built on Mount Titano.
The first stamp (€ 1.10) represents a young falcon on a branch waiting for its flying parent to come, the other stamp (€ 1.15) showing a falcon with two chicks.
Among the hundred bird species recorded in San Marino, a second species of falcon, the common kestrel has also been observed.
