Le 23 novembre 2018, les administrations postales de Malte et du Kirghizstan (Kyrgyz Express Post) ont mis en circulation une très jolie série commune (2 timbres), non prévue initialement dans leurs programmes philatéliques respectifs, consacrée à des sites inscrits sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
Cette émission commune célèbre le 25ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays (c'était officiellement le 19 février 1993).
Les 2 administrations postales ont eu l'excellente idée d'éditer une enveloppe Premier Jour mixte incluant la version maltaise et la version kirghize de cette série commune, avec les TAD respectifs.
Un grand merci à Maxim et tout le staff de la KEP pour l'envoi de ce splendide pli ci-dessous ainsi que le matériel philatélique associé !
On November 23, 2018, the postal administrations of Malta and Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyz Express Post) put into circulation a very nice joint series (2 stamps), not originally planned in their respective philatelic programs, devoted to sites inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage List.
This joint issue celebrates the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (it was officially on February 19, 1993).
The two postal administrations had the excellent idea of publishing a mixed first day envelope including the Maltese version and the Kyrgyz version of this joint set, with the respective postmarks.

Pour rappel, ces 2 timbres représentent de sublimes paysages, une vue de La Valette (photographie : Paul Mizzi) et du massif de Tian Shan et de la tour Burana (photographie : Ivan Turkovskii).
Les 2 timbres au format panoramique (100 et 150 KGS, tirage : 8000 chacun, conception : Daria Maier) mis en circulation par la KEP sont, à mon avis, parmi les plus beaux timbres émis dans le monde en 2018 !
I really like the background of this envelope including a map to locate the two countries!
As a reminder, these two stamps are featuring beautiful landscapes, a Valletta skyline (photograph: Paul Mizzi) and the Tian Shan mountain range and Burana Tower (photograph: Ivan Turkovskii).
The two stamps in panoramic format (100 and 150 KGS, print run: 8,000 each, design: Daria Maier) put into circulation by the KEP are, in my opinion, among the most beautiful stamps issued in the world in 2018!
J'aime beaucoup également le FDC officiel de la KEP ci-dessus (tirage : 400) avec TAD de Bichkek mentionnant le 25ème anniversaire de ces relations diplomatiques (ce qui n'est pas le cas sur le TAD maltais).
L'illustration à gauche sur l'enveloppe permet de localiser La Valette et la tour Burana dans leurs pays respectifs.
D'après l'UNESCO, la ville de La Valette (inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial en 1980) est "irrévocablement liée à l'histoire de l'ordre militaire et charitable de Saint-Jean-de-Jérusalem. La ville a été successivement dominée par les Phéniciens, les Grecs, les Carthaginois, les Romains, les Byzantins, les Arabes et l'ordre des chevaliers de Malte. Ses 320 monuments sur une superficie de 55 hectares en font l'une des zones historiques les plus concentrées du monde".
I also love the official FDC of the KEP above (print run: 400) with postmark from Bishkek mentioning the 25th anniversary of these diplomatic relations (which is not the case on the Maltese postmark).

According to UNESCO, the city of Valletta (inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1980) is "inextricably linked to the history of the military and charitable Order of St John of Jerusalem. It was ruled successively by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Order of the Knights of St John. Valletta’s 320 monuments, all within an area of 55 ha, make it one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world".
J'ai également eu la chance de recevoir les 2 cartes maximum ci-dessus, émises par la poste maltaise (n° 84 à gauche, tirage inconnu) et par la Kyrgyz Express Post (n° 33 à droite, tirage : 500).
La tour Burana est un ancien minaret, un des rares vestiges de Balasagun, ville disparue fondée par les Qarakhanides à la fin du 9ème siècle, dans la vallée de Tchouï (montagnes du nord du Kirghizstan).
Haut de 45 mètres à l'origine, ce monument a été endommagé par plusieurs tremblements de terre et ne mesure aujourd'hui que 25 mètres (le site a été restauré dans les années 1970).
Cette tour Burana fait partie du bien "Routes de la soie : le réseau de routes du corridor de Chang'an-Tian-shan", s'étendant sur 5000 km sur les territoires de la Chine, du Kirghizstan et du Kazakhstan, inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 2014.
I was also lucky enough to receive the 2 maxicards above, issued by the Maltese Post (No. 84 on the left, unknown print run) and by the Kyrgyz Express Post (No. 33 on the right, print run: 500).
The Burana Tower is an ancient minaret, one of the rare remains of Balasagun, a vanished city founded by the Qarakhanids in the late 9th century in the Chuy Valley (mountains of northern Kyrgyzstan).
Originally 45 meters high, this monument was damaged by several earthquakes and today only measures 25 meters (the site was restored in the 1970s).
This Burana Tower is part of the "Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor" property, covering 5000 km in the territories of China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014.
La Kyrgyz Express Post a mis en circulation ces 2 timbres (imprimés en Moldavie par Nova Imprim) en feuillet de 4 timbres chacun (ci-dessus) ainsi que dans un même bloc-feuillet ci-dessous (tirage : 2000).
Les logos de l'UNESCO et du patrimoine mondial sont inclus en bas à droite sur ces 2 timbres, les marges supérieures et inférieures mentionnant (en kirghize et en maltais) ce 25ème anniversaire des relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
Ces marges évoquent également ce qui caractérise ces 2 pays, la mer Méditerranée pour l'archipel de Malte et les montagnes du Kirghizstan.
The Kyrgyz Express Post issued these 2 stamps (printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim) in a sheet of 4 stamps each (above) and in the same souvenir sheet below (print run: 2,000).
The UNESCO and World Heritage logos are included on the bottom right on these two stamps, the upper and lower margins mentioning (in Kyrgyz and Maltese) the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
These margins also evoke what characterizes these two countries, the Mediterranean Sea for the Maltese archipelago and the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
