Les 4 espèces concernées sont représentées sur l'illustration à gauche sur l'enveloppe, en particulier une espèce de limule (Carcinoscorpius rotundicauda) ou "crabe fer à cheval" à l'honneur sur le bloc-feuillet, ayant une découpe originale au niveau de la marge inférieure.
Prisée dans l'état de Perlis ou quelques autres états du nord de la péninsule malaise, cette limule est préparée en salade, avec d'autres ingrédients comme de la mangue, des arachides, du piment et de la pâte de crevette...

Le 1er timbre de la série (ci-dessous à gauche) est consacré à une salade à base de concombre de mer (Acaudina molpadioides), consommés crus et ayant une texture semblable à de la pulpe de coco.

Ces sauterelles sont préalablement marinées avec du curcuma.
Le dernier timbre est consacré au porc-épic de Malaisie (Hystrix brachyura), consommé localement en steak ou en rendang, une espèce de ragoût épicé.
La viande de porc-épic est douce et a la texture du poulet, et est prisée en particulier dans la région de Sekinchan dans le nord-ouest de l'état de Selangor.

The stamp above in the middle shows Javanese grasshopper (Valanga nigricornis) fried skewer, an insect appreciated for its creamy-sweet taste and its high protein intake.
These grasshoppers are previously marinated with turmeric.
The last stamp is devoted to the Malaysian Porcupine (Hystrix brachyura), consumed locally in steak or rendang, a kind of spicy stew.
Porcupine meat is sweet and has the texture of chicken, and is particularly popular in the Sekinchan area in northwestern Selangor State.
