Depuis sa première participation à des jeux olympiques d'hiver en 1984 (Sarajevo), la principauté de Monaco n'a engagé des athlètes que dans 2 disciplines : le bobsleigh et le ski alpin.
Cela a encore été le cas lors des 24èmes jeux d'hiver organisés à Beijing (Chine) du 4 au 20 février 2022, avec une délégation monégasque composée de 3 athlètes (3 hommes) qui n'a malheureusement remporté aucune médaille.
Monaco a la particularité d'être le pays ayant participé au plus grand nombre de jeux olympiques d'été et d'hiver (32 éditions) sans avoir jamais remporté la moindre médaille...
Since its first participation at the Olympic Winter Games in 1984 (Sarajevo), the Principality of Monaco has engaged athletes only in two disciplines : alpine skiing and bobsleigh. 
It was again the case during the 24th Winter Games held in Beijing, China from February 4 to 20, 2022, with a Monegasque delegation of three athletes (3 men) who unfortunately did not win any medals.

Le 17 janvier 2022, l'OETP de Monaco a émis un timbre spécial (1,65€, tirage : 40000) consacré à ces jeux olympiques d'hiver de Beijing, conçu par Thierry Mordant.
C'est ce timbre, imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, qui figure sur cette enveloppe, avec TAD Premier Jour associé.
Ce timbre inclut l'emblème du comité olympique monégasque et représente les 2 disciplines (ski alpin et bob à 2) dans lesquelles les athlètes monégasques ont concouru.
A noter que lors de ces jeux de Beijing, le bob à 2 monégasque (Rudy Rinaldi et Boris Vain) a terminé à la 6ème place, un résultat historique car il s'agit du meilleur classement jamais obtenu par Monaco aux jeux olympiques d'hiver ou d'été.
On January 17, 2022, the OETP of Monaco issued a special stamp (€1.65, print run: 40,000) dedicated to these Beijing Winter Olympics, designed by Thierry Mordant.
It is that stamp, printed in sheetlet of 10 stamps, which was used on this envelope, with its associated First Day postmark.
This stamp includes the emblem of the Monegasque Olympic Committee and features the 2 disciplines (alpine skiing and 2-man bobsleigh) in which Monegasque athletes competed.
It should be noted that during these Beijing Games, the Monegasque 2-man bobsleigh (Rudy Rinaldi and Boris Vain) finished in 6th place, a historic result because it is the best ranking ever obtained by Monaco at the Winter or Summer Olympics.
