Le 30 mars 2013, la poste de Moldavie a émis une nouvelle série de 6 timbres consacrés à différents arbustes fruitiers ("arbuşti fructiferi").
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les 2 FDC officiels ci-dessous (avec TAD de Chisinau) concernant chacun 3 timbres de cette série. Merci beaucoup Sergio :-)
Cette série de 6 timbres ainsi que les enveloppes FDC (tirage : 300 seulement !) ont été conçues par Tatiana Gorbatenkaia.
On March 20, 2013, the Post of Moldova has issued a new series of six stamps devoted to different fruit shrubs ("arbuşti fructiferi").
I was lucky enough to receive the two official FDC below (with postmarks from Chisinau) each regarding three stamps of this series. Thank you very much Sergio :-)
This set of six stamps as well as the FDC envelopes (print run : 300 only !) have been designed by Tatiana Gorbatenkaia.

Les 3 timbres ci-dessus (feuilles, fruits et fleurs) représentent de gauche à droite : le groseillier à maquereau (Ribes uva-crispa), la viorne obier (Vibrunum opulus) et le groseillier à grappes (Ribes rubrum).
The three stamps (leaves, fruits and flowers) above are featuring from left to right : gooseberry (Ribes uva-crispa), Guelder Rose (Vibrunum opulus) and Redcurrant (Ribes rubrum).

Les 3 timbres ci-dessus représentent de gauche à droite : le myrtillier (Vaccinium myrtillus), le framboisier (Rubus idaeus) et l'argousier (Hippophae rhamnoides).
The three stamps above are depicting from left to right : European blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) and Common sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides).

Sergio m'a également envoyé les 2 cartes postales pré-timbrées ci-dessus et ci-dessous, faisant partie d'une série de 4 cartes émise le 20 avril 2011, toutes consacrées à des édifices religieux du pays.
Ces cartes (0,90 L, tirage : 2000 chacune) ont été conçues par A. Kornienko.
Cette carte est consacrée au 375ème anniversaire de l'église Saint-Dimitri d'Orhei, dont la construction date du règne du prince Vasile Lupu (une fresque le représente à l'intérieur de l'édifice).
A noter que cette église figurait sur un timbre consacré à Noël émis en 2001.
Sergio also sent me the two prepaid postcards above and below, being part of a series of four cards issued on April 20, 2011, all devoted to religious buildings of the country.
These postcards (L 0.90, print run : 2,000 each) were designed by A. Kornienko.
This card is dedicated to the 375th anniversary of the St. Dimitri Church in Orhei, whose construction dates from the reign of Prince Vasile Lupu (a fresco is featuring him inside the building).
To note that this church was featured on a stamp dedicated to Christmas issued in 2001.

La 2ème carte ci-dessous est consacrée au 195ème anniversaire de la fondation de l'église de l'Adoration de la Sainte-Vierge, faisant partie du monastère d'Hîrbovăţ, situé sur la commune de Călăraşi. 
The second card below is dedicated to the 195th anniversary of the founding of the Church of the Adoration of the Blessed Virgin, part of the Hîrbovăţ monastery, located in the town of Călăraşi.

Un nouveau message pour partager avec vous, une fois n'est pas coutume, ces 2 cartes postales éditées spécialement pour l'exposition philatélique internationale Praga'88 qui fut donc organisée en 1988 à Prague, encore capitale de l'ex-Tchécoslovaquie.

A new post to share with you, once will not hurt, these two postcards published specifically for the international philatelic exhibition Praga'88 which was then held in 1988 in Prague, yet capital of the former Czechoslovakia.

Le timbre utilisé ci-dessus, émis le 4 avril 2012, est consacré au scientifique et naturaliste Johann Gregor Mendel (1822-1884), un des fondateurs de la génétique moderne. J'ai déjà parlé de ce timbre plus en détail sur ce blog.
Comme les années précédentes, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation à Prague, du 28 mars au 5 avril 2013, une oblitération spéciale (conçue par Karel Dvořák) incluant la mention "Nejkrásnější česká poštovní známka roku 2012" ("Plus beau timbre-poste tchèque de l'année 2012").
Ce TAD fait bien sûr référence à l'enquête annuelle de la poste tchèque permettant d'élire le plus beau timbre émis en 2012  (voir un de mes derniers articles publiés sur ce blog).
The stamp used above, issued on April 4, 2012, is devoted to the scientist and naturalist Johann Gregor Mendel (1822-1884), one of the founders of modern genetics. I've already spoken about this stamp in more detail on this blog.
As in previous years, the Czech Post has put into circulation in Prague from March 28 to April 5, 2013, a special postmark (designed by Karel Dvořák) including the words "Nejkrásnější česká poštovní známka roku 2012" ("More beautiful 2012 Czech postage stamp").
This cancellation is of course referring to the annual survey of the Czech Post to elect the most beautiful stamp issued in 2012 (see one of my last posts published on this blog).

L'autre côté de ces 2 cartes représentent quelques-uns des nombreux timbres émis à l'époque en Tchécoslovaquie pour annoncer cette expo Praga'88, des timbres émis en 1987 consacrés à différents moyens de transports et de communications ci-dessus.
The other side of these two postcards are featuring some of the many stamps issued at the time in Czechoslovakia to announce this Expo Praga'88, some stamps issued in 1987 about different means of transport and communication above.

J'ai également déjà évoqué sur ce blog le timbre EUROPA 2011 ci-dessus (consacré à la réserve naturelle de la forêt alluviale de Libický) ainsi que le TAD émis récemment pour commémorer le 70ème anniversaire du club philatélique 00-15 de Prague.
I've also already mentioned on this blog the EUROPA 2011 stamp above (dedicated to the Libický alluvial forest natural reserve) as well as the postmark recently issued to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the philatelic club 00-15 of Prague.

Quatre timbres de la série artistique de 1986 et 1988 sont reproduits sur l'autre face de cette carte ci-dessus.
Les 2 timbres en haut ont en particulier été émis dans un bloc-feuillet pendant cette exposition philatélique Praga'88 pour célébrer la journée de la FIP (Fédération Internationale de Philatélie) qui était alors présidée par le tchèque Mr. Dvořáček.
Four stamps of the "Art" series of 1986 and 1988 are shown on the other side of this card above.
The top two stamps have in particular been issued in a special souvenir sheet during this stamp exhibition Praga'88 to celebrate the Day of the FIP (International Federation of Philately) which was then presided over by Czech Mr. Dvořáček.

Salon Philatélique de Printemps - Mâcon 2013

Après 2009, le traditionnel Salon Philatélique de Printemps était à nouveau organisé à Mâcon (Saône-et-Loire), du 5 au 7 avril 2013.
A cette occasion, un timbre, une vignette LISA ainsi qu'un TAD Premier Jour très original ont été émis !
Le timbre (0,63€, tirage : 1500000) ainsi que la vignette LISA figurent sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous.
Conçu par Stéphane Humbert-Basset et gravé par Pierre Albuisson (qui avait déjà créé et gravé le timbre consacré à Mâcon émis en 2009), ce timbre représente une partie de l'Hôtel des Postes (1912, style Art Nouveau), un des édifices les plus remarquables de la ville.
After 2009, the traditional French Spring Stamp Exhibition ("Salon Philatélique de Printemps") was again held in the city of Mâcon (Saône-et-Loire), from 5 to 7 April 2013.
On this occasion, a stamp, an ATM stamp (LISA) as well as a very original FDC postmark were issued !
The stamp (€ 0.63, print run : 1,500,000) and the LISA were used on the First Day Cover below.
Designed by Stéphane Humbert-Basset and engraved by Pierre Albuisson (who had already created and engraved the stamp devoted to Mâcon issued in 2009), that stamp is featuring a part of the General Post Office (1912, Art Nouveau), one of the most notable buildings of the city.

Mâcon accueillera également un festival de magie fin 2013, ce qu'évoque le TAD spécial du Salon ci-dessus à gauche. Un clin d'oeil à ce festival de magie figure également sur le timbre avec des éléments liés à la magie plus ou moins cachés : une colombe dans le toit de la tour, une baguette magique, un lapin dans le ciel ou un chapeau haut-de-forme dans l'arcade centrale !
Le TAD Premier Jour, également conçu par Stéphane Humbert-Basset, à la particularité de pouvoir être lu dans les 2 sens (ambigramme), formant soit le mot "Magie soit le mot ""Mâcon" !
La vignette LISA (papier non thermique LISA 1, tirage : 70000), créée aussi par Stéphane Humbert-Basset, montre à gauche le Spot (salle du Parc des expositions où était organisé ce Salon) ainsi qu'une vue de la ville de Mâcon à droite avec le pont Saint-Laurent enjambant la Saône.
A noter enfin les 2 signatures du concepteur et du graveur de ce timbre. Un bien joli pli !
Mâcon will also host a festival devoted to magic at the end of 2013, what is evoked on the special postmark of this Stamp Exhibition above to the left. A glance at this festival of magic is also included on the stamp with some magic related elements (more or less hidden) : a dove on the roof of the tower, a magic wand, a rabbit in the sky or a hat in the central arch !
The FDC cancellation, also designed by Stéphane Humbert-Basset, has the particularity of being able to be read in 2 directions (ambigram), forming either the word "Magie" or the word" "Mâcon" !
The LISA ATM stamp (LISA 1 non-thermal paper, print run : 70,000), created also by Stéphane Humbert-Basset, shows to the left the Spot (the Exhibition Hall where took place this stamp show) as well as a view of the city of Mâcon to the right with the St. Laurent bridge spanning the River Saône
Finally, to note the two signatures of the designer and engraver of that stamp. A rather attractive cover !

La vente anticipée Premier Jour de ce timbre a également eu lieu à Paris (Carré d'Encre) les 5 et 6 avril 2013.

Ce même bureau de poste de Mâcon figurait déjà sur un timbre émis en 1990 dans la série EUROPA consacrée à des établissements postaux.
Pour la petite histoire, les plans de ce bâtiment avaient été dessinés à l'origine pour une ville d'Algérie. Sur les arcades, des grappes de raisins (Mâcon est situé au coeur d'une région viticole) ont ainsi remplacé les régimes de dattes !

That same Post Office of Mâcon was already depicted on a stamp issued in 1990 in the EUROPA series dedicated to postal buildings.
For the anecdote, the plans of this building were originally designed for an Algerian town. On the archways, the wine grapes (Mâcon is located in the heart of wine area) have thus replaced the dates clusters !

Pour la 1ère fois de son histoire, la poste coréenne a émis, le 29 mars 2013, une série de timbres incluant un tarif permanent, correspondant à l'envoi d'un pli standard intérieur jusqu'à 25g (270 won actuellement).
Appelés timbres "Yeong-won" en Corée du sud, cette série de 2 timbres est consacrée à des personnalités importantes du pays, des légendes nationales du baseball, Jang Hyo-Jo (1956-2011) et Choi Dong-Won (1958-2011).
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les 3 FDC (avec TAD Premier Jour de Busan) ci-dessous concernant cette série. Merci beaucoup Ji-Ho :-)
For the first time in its history, the Korean Post has issued on March 29th 2013, a series of stamps including a permanent rate corresponding to standard mail within Korea up to 25g (currently 270 won).
Called "Yeong-won stamps" in Korea, this set of stamps is dedicated to two memorable figures of the country, some national baseball legends, Jang Hyo-Jo (1956-2011) and Choi Dong-Won (1958-2011).
I was lucky enough to receive the three FDC (with postmarks from Busan) below regarding this series. Thank you very much Ji-Ho :-)

Jang Hyo-Jo (timbre ci-dessus à gauche) est l'athlète qui a réalisé les meilleurs moyennes de points dans l'histoire du baseball coréen. En 1980, il a été choisi comme MVP de la Série mondiale Amateur (prédécesseur de la Coupe du monde de baseball) et a permis à la Corée du sud de remporter cette même compétition en 1982. Il a ensuite marqué l'histoire de l'équipe des Lions Samsung à partir de 1983. 
Choi Dong-Won, un des meilleurs lanceurs du baseball coréen, a été un héros d'une série de bandes dessinées. Lorsque le baseball est devenu un sport professionnel en Corée du sud en 1982, il a rejoint l'équipe des Lotte Giants. En 1984, son club a remporté les "Korean Series" contre les Lions Samsung après une lutte mémorable qui est rentrée dans l'histoire du sport coréen.
Jang Hyo-Jo (stamp above to the left) is the athlete who has achieved the best average points in Korean baseball history. In 1980, he was selected as MVP of the Amateur World Series (predecessor of the Baseball World Cup) and allowed Korea to win that same competition in 1982. He then marked the history of the Samsung Lions team from 1983.
Choi Dong-Won, one of the best pitchers in Korean baseball history, was a hero of a comic book series. When baseball became a professional sport in Korea from 1982, he joined the team of the Lotte Giants. In 1984, this club won the "Korean Series" against the Samsung Lions after a memorable struggle that marked the history of Korean sport.

Ces 2 timbres (tirage : 810000 chacun), conçus par Junghwa Roh, ont été émis dans une même feuille composée de 8 paires se-tenantes et les 2 timbres différents en haut de feuille avec, dans les marges, le palmarès de ces 2 joueurs.
Ji-Ho a utilisé ces 2 timbres en haut de feuille sur les 2 autres FDC ci-dessus et ci-dessous.
These two stamps (print run : 810,000 each), designed by Junghwa Roh, have been issued in a same sheet composed of 8 se-tenant pairs and the two different stamps at the top with, in the margins, the main career's results of these two players.
Ji-Ho used these two last stamps on the other two FDC above and below.

Entier postal tchèque avec TAD de Pâques

Le 20 janvier 2000, la poste tchèque a émis ce qui constitue (sauf erreur de ma part) l'un des premiers documents philatéliques ayant pour thème Internet dans le monde.
Il s'agissait en fait d'un entier postal (tarif 5 CZK, tirage : 284900) que Bret a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer !
Cet entier postal inclut le slogan "Internet pour les philatélistes" avec cet emblème mêlant le cor postal et le @ devenu aujourd'hui un signe ordinaire de notre vie quotidienne...
A noter l'oblitération spéciale (en forme d'oeuf de Pâques) du 29 mars 2013 émise à Kraslice, représentant un agneau de Pâques.
On January 20, 2000, the Czech Post has issued what is (if I'm not wrong) one of the first philatelic documents devoted to Internet in the world.
It was actually a postal stationery (5 CZK rate, print run : 284,900) that Bret was kind enough to send me !
This postal stationery includes the slogan "Internet for philatelists" with this emblem combining the post horn and the @ that is today an ordinary sign in our daily lives...
To note the special postmark (with its Easter egg's shape) of March 29, 2013 issued in Kraslice, depicting an Easter lamb.

Kraslice, petite ville de l'ouest de la République Tchèque, est aussi le nom donné aux oeufs de Pâques décorés dans le pays !
D'où ce TAD, conçu par Vlasta Matoušová, incluant la mention "Poste de Pâques" ("Velikonoční pošta" en tchèque) proposé au public dans le bureau de poste de Kraslice du 1er au 31 mars 2013.
Bret a enfin utilisé un timbre (15 CZK afin d'atteindre le tarif postal pour l'Europe), émis le 22 mars 2006 dans la série "Beautés de notre pays" consacré à la région de Kokořínsko.
Située au nord de Prague, cette région est caractérisée par de magnifiques piliers en grès surmontés de couvercles en conglomérat, formés au fil du temps par l'érosion.
Comme mentionné sur ce joli timbre gravé, ce lieu est appelé "Pokličky", ce qui signifie "couvercles" !
Kraslice, a small town at the west of the Czech Republic, is also the name given to the decorated Easter eggs in the country !

Bret has finally used a stamp (15 CZK to reach the postal rate for Europe), issued on March 22, 2006 in the series "Beauties of our country" dedicated to the region of Kokořínsko.
Located in the north of Prague, this area is characterized by beautiful sandstone pillars with conglomerate tops, formed over time by erosion.
As mentioned on this beautiful engraved stamp, this place is called "Pokličky", which means "tops" !

La poste de Singapour avait débuté une nouvelle série courante en 2011 (4 timbres de fortes valeurs émis le 16 février, 10 timbres de faibles valeurs émis le 13 avril) consacrée à la faune et la flore faisant partie du fragile écosystème des étangs ou des mares à Singapour.
Le 12 mars 2012, deux timbres de faibles valeurs avaient été émis dans cette même série, évoquant des plantes aquatiques : le Limnocharis jaune (Limnocharis flava) et la laitue d'eau (Pistia stratiotes).
The Singapore Post has started a new definitive series in 2011 (four high value stamps issued on February 16 and ten low value stamps issued on ​​April 13) devoted to the fauna and flora being part of the fragile ecosystem of ponds in Singapore. 
On March 12, 2012, two low values stamps were issued ​​in this same series, depicting some aquatic plants : Yellow Burhead (Limnocharis flava) and Water Lettuce (Pistia stratiotes).

Le 20 mars 2013, deux nouveaux timbres (1st Local et 2nd Local) ont été émis, également consacrés à des plantes aquatiques : la geli geli (Lasia spinosa) et la gentiane d'eau (Nymphoides indica). 
Terence (merci beaucoup !) a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer le joli FDC officiel ci-dessus concernant cette nouvelle série (2 timbres de chaque).
La geli geli est comestible et a des propriétés médicinales alors que la gentiane d'eau est caractéristique avec ses fleurs blanches à l'aspect plumeux et ses feuilles en forme de coeur.
A noter que, comme sur timbres émis précédemment dans cette série, un vernis spécial a été à nouveau appliqué sur les deux plantes de cette série, conçue par Eric Kong (Design Vizio) et imprimée par le néerlandais Joh. Enschedé.
On March 20, 2013, two new stamps (1st Local and 2nd Local) have been issued, also devoted to aquatic plants : the Geli Geli (Lasia spinosa) and the Water Gentian (Nymphoides indica).
Terence (thank you very much !) was kind enough to send me the nice official FDC above regarding this new series (2 stamps of each).
Geli Geli is edible and possess medicinal properties while the Water Gentian has the particularity of having feathery-looking white flowers and heart-shaped leaves.
To note that, as it was the case on the stamps issued earlier in this series, a special varnish was again applied on the two plants of this new series, designed by Eric Kong (Design Vizio) and printed by the Dutch Joh. Enschedé.

Splendide bloc "Année du Serpent" au Canada

Comme de coutume, Canada Postes a émis, le 8 janvier 2013, un timbre ainsi qu'un magnifique bloc-feuillet pour annoncer l'année du serpent d'eau, qui a débuté le 10 février 2013.
C'est ce bloc-feuillet, composé d'un timbre au tarif international (1,85$), qui figure sur la lettre ci-dessous postée le 22 mars 2013 du petit village d'Inwood (province du Manitoba). Merci beaucoup Maryam :-)
Maryam a eu le bon goût d'utiliser à nouveau un TAD ayant un rapport direct avec le timbre !
Cette oblitération mentionne effectivement que ce village d'Inwood abrite des couleuvres rayées (Thamnophis sirtalis). Une statue (près de 5m de haut) représentant 2 de ces serpents y a été construite en 1995 pour signifier que des milliers de couleuvres sortent de terre dans cette région chaque année en mai pour mettre bas...
As usual, Canada Post has issued on January 8, 2013, a stamp as well as a beautiful souvenir sheet devoted to the Year of the Water Snake, which began on February 10, 2013.
It is that souvenir sheet, consisting of an international rate stamp ($ 1.85), which appears on the letter below posted on March 22, 2013 in the small village of Inwood (Province of Manitoba). Thank you very much Maryam :-)
Maryam had the good idea to use once again a postmark having a direct link with the stamp !
This cancellation does indeed mention that this village of Inwood is home of the Garter Snakes (Thamnophis sirtalis). A statue (about 5m high) featuring two of these snakes has been built in 1995 to remind that thousands of snakes emerge from the ground in this area every year in May to give birth...

Mais revenons à ce bloc-feuillet (tirage : 455000) consacré au serpent, le 6ème signe du zodiaque chinois, symbole d'intelligence, de grâce mais aussi de matérialisme.
Conçu par les designers Joseph Gault et Avi Dunkelman (Mix Design Group) avec la contribution du calligraphe Tan Chao Chang, ce bloc représente un serpent jaune et jade imprimé en relief avec estampage et vernis.
Le corps du serpent forme le chiffre 8, un chiffre symbole de chance et particulièrement apprécié des chinois.
Même l'élément eau, associé au serpent cette année, y est intégré avec ces cercles et ces vagues dans le fond.
L'autre petit serpent rouge, dans la marge en bas à droite, reprend le visuel du timbre isolé émis dans la même série. Pour être complet, un autre bloc-feuillet dit "de transition" a aussi été émis, composé de 2 timbres consacrés au dragon et au serpent...
But let's speak back about this souvenir sheet (print run : 455,000) dedicated to the snake, the sixth sign of the Chinese zodiac, symbol of intelligence, gracefulness but also materialism.
Designed by Joseph Gault and Avi Dunkelman (Mix Design Group) with the contribution of the calligrapher Tan Chao Chang, this sheet features a yellow and green jade snake with a printing process including foil stamping, embossing and varnish.
The snake's body as a stylized 8 shape, a figure that is symbol of luck and especially appreciated by Chinese people. Even the element of water, associated with the snake this year, is integrated with theses circles and waves in the background.
The other little red snake in the lower right margin, is inspired by the design of the single stamp issued in the same series. To be exhaustive, another "transitional" souvenir sheet was also issued, consisting of two stamps dedicated to Dragon and Snake...

70 ans du club philatélique 00-15 de Prague - Entier postal

70 years of the Prague 00-15 Philatelic Club - Postal Stationery

Le 3 avril 2013, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un nouvel entier postal consacré au 70ème anniversaire de la création du club philatélique 00-15 de Prague, réunissant des collectionneurs thématiques.
Commercialisé à un prix de 15 CZK, cet entier postal est conçu pour un envoi domestique standard de moins de 50g, soit un tarif postal "A" de 10 CZK actuellement.
Bret (merci beaucoup !) a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer cet entier postal sur lequel une oblitération de Prague a été appliquée, conçue spécialement pour cet anniversaire avec la mention "70 let KF 00-15".
Ce TAD, ainsi que cet entier postal, ont été conçus par Pavel Sivko.
On April 3, 2013, the Czech Post has released a new postal stationery devoted to the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Prague Philatelic Club 00-15 of specialized areas collectors.
Sold at a price of 15 CZK, this postal stationery is used for standard domestic up to 50g letters, i.e. a postal rate "A" of 10 CZK currently.

Le timbre pré-imprimé évoque un autre anniversaire, les 40 ans de l'introduction des codes postaux en Tchécoslovaquie. La vignette reproduite sur ce timbre était utilisée par les services postaux de l'époque pour indiquer que le code postal était absent ou incorrect.
L'illustration à gauche montre une machine à affranchir manuelle de type Postalia utilisée sur une lettre envoyée en express recommandé en 1973 à l'adresse du club philatélique 00-15 de Prague.

The pre-printed stamp evokes another anniversary, the 40 years of the introduction of postcodes in Czechoslovakia. The sticker featured on this stamp was used by the postal service at the time to indicate that the postcode was missing or incorrect.
The illustration on the left shows a manual Postalia franking machine used on a registered express letter addressed in 1973 to the philatelic club 00-15 in Prague.

La vignette attenante à gauche mentionne ce 70ème anniversaire du club philatélique 00-15 de Prague.
That same postmark of April 3, 2013 was applied on this nice letter above (but I do not know who is the sender ?).
I've alread mentioned on this blog the permanent "A" stamp used here (a trumpeter on a peacock), issued on October 27, 2011 in a sheet of 9 stamps + 12 customizable coupons (a trumpet here to the right).
The attached coupon to the left mentions the 70th anniversary of this Philatelic Club 00-15 of Prague.

Le 23 mars 2013 entre 20h30 et 21h30, a eu lieu sur toute la planète la 7ème édition de la "Earth Hour" ("Une heure pour la planète").
Cet évènement symbolique mondial, initié par le WWF, vise à promouvoir les économies d'énergie, la lutte contre le réchauffement climatique en éteignant les lumières et en débranchant les appareils électriques pendant une heure...
Comme les années précédentes, Singapour a participé à ce mouvement et la carte postale spéciale ci-dessous a été éditée.
Terence (merci beaucoup !) a eu la gentillesse de me l'envoyer le 23 mars 2013, jour de l'Earth Hour, depuis le quartier de Punggol (nord-est du pays).
On March 23, 2013 from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, took place on the planet the 7th edition of the "Earth Hour".
This worldwide symbolic event, initiated by WWF, aims to promote energy savings, the fight against climate change by turning off lights and unplugging electrical appliances for an hour...
As in previous years, Singapore has been involved in this movement and the special postcard below was published.
Terence (thank you very much !) was kind enough to send it to me on March 23, 2013, the "Earth Hour" day, from the Punggol district (north-eastern country).

Dans le cadre du 20ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre Singapour et la Chine en 2010, il fut alors décidé le prêt de ce couple de pandas géants pour une durée de 10 ans.

Un grand merci Spyros pour ce nouveau courrier intéressant envoyé en recommandé le 21 mars 2013 de Chania, sur l'île de Crète !
Spyros a à nouveau choisi des timbres émis par la République monastique du Mont Athos, dans 2 séries différentes en 2012 (le 26 janvier et le 20 mars), consacrés à certains des 20 monastères orthodoxes établis depuis le 10ème siècle sur cette péninsule montagneuse du Mont Athos ("Ágion Óros Athos") située dans le nord-est de la Grèce.
Pour rappel, ces timbres, imprimés par la poste grecque, peuvent être utilisés sur l'ensemble du territoire grec.

Spyros has again chosen some stamps issued by the Autonomous Monastic State of the Mount Athos, in two different series in 2012 (January 26 and March 20), devoted to some of the 20 Orthodox monasteries established since the 10th century on this mountainous peninsula of Mount Athos ("Ágion Óros Athos") located in the northeast of Greece.
As a reminder, these stamps, printed by the Greek Post, can be used throughout the Greek territory.

Les 4 monastères représentés sur cette série ci-dessus sont, de gauche à droite : Pantocrator (7ème place dans le classement hiérarchique des monastères), fondé au 14ème siècle et dédié à la Transfiguration du Sauveur, Hilandar (4ème place), fondé à la fin du 12ème siècle par un roi serbe, surnommé "le monastère serbe" car il abrite une cinquantaine de moines serbes, Koutloumousiou (6ème place), fondé au 11ème siècle et abritant une relique de la Vraie Croix sur laquelle Jésus-Christ aurait été crucifié et Zographou (9ème place), fondé au 10ème siècle et dédié à Saint-Georges, habité par 15 moines bulgares.

Ce timbre (0,10€, tirage : 2 millions) fait partie d'une série de 6 timbres, émise le 25 juin 2012, consacrée au tourisme.
Conçue par Myrsini Vardopoulou, cette série combine des paysages et des activités sportives, comme la randonnée et l'observation de la nature près de la rivière Événos (92 km) située dans l'ouest de la région (périphérie) de Grèce Centrale ici.

That stamp (€ 0.10, print run : 2 million) is part of a series of six stamps, issued on June 25th 2012, devoted to touring.
Designed by Myrsini Vardopoulou, this series combines landscapes and sporting activities such as hiking and nature observation near the Evinos river (92 km long) located in the western part of the region (periphery) of Central Greece here.

Pour la 20ème année, la poste tchèque a réalisé une enquête publique pour désigner le plus beau timbre émis en 2012. Mais j'en reparle plus loin dans cet article.
Avant ça, je suis heureux d'évoquer cette magnifique lettre envoyée en recommandé de Prague le 25 mars 2013, affranchie avec quelques timbres "Arts", parmi les plus beaux timbres gravés émis chaque année en République Tchèque. Merci beaucoup Bret :-)
J'ai déjà évoqué sur ce blog certains des timbres utilisés ci-dessous : "Fille aux cheveux longs" (1951) par Kamil Lhoták (1912-1990) émis le 7 novembre 2012 ou "Femme dans un champ de maïs" (1910) par Joža Uprka (1861-1940) émis le 9 novembre 2011.
For the 20th year, the Czech Post has conducted a public survey to choose the most attractive stamp issued in 2012. But I'll talk about later in this post.
Before that, I'm very happy to share with you this wonderful letter sent by registered mail from Prague on March 25, 2013, franked with some "Arts" stamps, among the most beautiful engraved stamps issued each year in Czech Republic. Thank you very much Bret :-)
I've already mentioned on this blog some of the stamps used below : "A long-haired girl" (1951) by Kamil Lhoták (1912-1990) issued on November 7, 2012 and "Woman in maize field" (1910) by Joža Uprka (1861-1940) issued on November 9, 2011.

J'ai également déjà écrit à propos du timbre en haut à droite : "Paris et Hélène" (1672) par Karel Škréta (1610-1674) émis le 10 novembre 2010.
Le dernier timbre en haut à gauche reproduit une oeuvre intitulée "Le long, Le large et Oeil perçant" (1897) par le peintre, graphiste et illustrateur tchèque Hanuš Schwaiger (1854 - 1912), émis le 10 novembre 2004.
Son oeuvre, largement inspirée par les anciens maîtres hollandais, s'inscrit dans le mouvement réaliste.
Le titre de cette oeuvre (Galerie Nationale de Prague) fait référence à un célèbre conte de Bohême.
A noter enfin que les 4 timbres ci-dessus ont tous été gravés par Miloš Ondráček (né en 1936).
I've also already written about the stamp in the upper right : "Paris and Helen" (1672) by Karel Škréta (1610-1674) issued on November 10, 2010.
The last stamp in the upper left reproduces a work entitled "Long, Broad and Sharpsight" (1897) by the Czech painter, graphic artist and illustrator Hanuš Schwaiger (1854-1912), issued on November 10, 2004.
His work, largely inspired by the old Dutch masters, is close to the realism art movement.
The title of this painting (National Gallery in Prague) refers to a famous fairy tale from Bohemia.
Finally, to note that the four stamps above were all engraved by Miloš Ondráček (b. 1936).

Avec 1704 voix (sur 8165), c'est en effet le bloc-feuillet "800ème anniversaire de la publication de la Bulle d'or de Sicile", émis le 19 septembre 2012, qui a remporté cette élection !
A cette occasion, la poste tchèque a émis le feuillet spécial numéroté ci-dessus, inspiré de ce bloc qui avait été dessiné par Oldřich Kulhánek (1940-2013)...
Pour être exhaustif, le timbre arrivé en 2ème position est "Autoportrait avec famille" (1719) par Jan Kupecký (1667-1740) avec 1486 voix et le 3ème est "100ème anniversaire du couronnement de Notre-Dame d'Hostýn" avec 571 voix.
It is the same Miloš Ondráček who engraved the most beautiful designated Czech stamp issued in 2012 !
With 1704 votes (out of 8165), it is indeed the souvenir sheet "800th anniversary of the publication of the Golden Bull of Sicily", issued on September 19, 2012, that has won this election !
On this occasion, the Czech Post has issued the special numbered sheet above, inspired by this souvenir sheet that was designed by Oldřich Kulhánek (1940-2013)...
To be exhaustive, the stamp arrived in second position is "Self Portrait with Family" (1719) by Jan Kupecký (1667-1740) with 1486 votes and the third is "100th anniversary of the coronation of Our Lady of Hostýn" with 571 votes.

Un court message pour évoquer cette nouvelle lettre reçue de Slovaquie (merci beaucoup Robert !), postée le 27 mars 2013 de la capitale, Bratislava.
C'est un panorama de cette même ville de Bratislava, avec en particulier le château et la cathédrale Saint-Martin, qui est représenté sur le timbre à droite (tarif permanent T1 50g soit 0,65€ actuellement), émis le 1er janvier 2013 pour commémorer le 20ème anniversaire de l'indépendance de la république de Slovaquie.
Les couleurs (blanc, bleu et rouge) du drapeau national et les armoiries sont également inclues.
A noter que ce timbre a été émis en feuillet de 8 timbres avec une vignette attenante évoquant la cathédrale Sainte-Elisabeth de la ville de Košice, capitale européenne de la culture en 2013 (avec Marseille).
A short post to speak about this new letter received from Slovakia (thank you very much Robert !), mailed on March 27, 2013 from the capital, Bratislava.
It is an overview of this same city of Bratislava, with in particular the castle and the St. Martin Cathedral, that is featured on the stamp to the right (T1 50g permanent rate, € 0.65 now), issued on January 1, 2013 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Slovakia.
The colors (white, blue and red) of the national flag and coat of arms are also included.
To note that this stamp was issued in a sheet of 8 stamps with an attached coupon referring to the St. Elizabeth Cathedral of the city of Košice, European Capital of Culture in 2013 (with Marseille, France).

L'autre timbre, également émis avec une vignette, émis le  14 février 2013, rend hommage a un des plus grands joueurs de football du pays, Ján Popluhár (1935 – 2011).
Considéré alors comme un des meilleurs défenseurs dans le monde, il fut un des joueurs du club du Slovan Bratislava entre 1955 et 1969 et sélectionné en équipe de Tchécoslovaquie à 62 reprises entre 1958 et 1967.
Il fut membre de l'équipe de la FIFA qui joua contre l'équipe d'Angleterre à Wembley en 1963 (ce que mentionne la vignette) à l'occasion du 100ème anniversaire de la fédération anglaise de football.
En 2000, Ján Popluhár a été désigné plus grand joueur de football slovaque du 20ème siècle.
The other stamp, also issued with a coupon, issued on February 14, 2013, pays tribute to one of the greatest football players of the country, Ján Popluhár (1935-2011).
Then considered as one of the best defensive players in the world, he was one of the players of the Slovan Bratislava FC from 1955 to 1969 and was selected in the team of Czechoslovakia 62 times from 1958 to 1967.
He was a member of the FIFA World Eleven team that played against England in Wembley in 1963 (what is evoked on the coupon) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the English Football Association.
In 2000, Ján Popluhár was pronounced the best Slovak football player of the 20th century.

Cela peut paraitre curieux mais un des emblèmes de la ville de Valence, préfecture du département de la Drôme, est son château d'eau, plus précisément sa "Sculpture-architecture château-d'eau" composée de 2 tours, située dans le parc Jean-Perdrix de la ville.
La poste française a mis en vente générale le 25 mars 2013 un timbre spécial (tarif "lettre verte") représentant ces 2 tours de respectivement 55 et 57 mètres de haut.
C'est ce timbre (tirage : 1500000), créé et gravé par Eve Luquet, qui figure sur le pli Premier Jour de Paris (Carré d'Encre) ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Joël :-)
It may sound strange but one of the symbols of the French city of Valence, the capital of the department of Drôme, is its water tower, more precisely its "water tower sculpture-architecture" consisting of two towers, located in the Jean-Perdrix Park of the city.
The French Post has put in general sale on March 25, 2013 a special stamp ("green letter" rate) featuring these two towers of respectively 55 and 57 meters high.
It is that stamp (print run : 1.5 million), created and engraved by Eve Luquet, that appears on the first day cover from Paris ("Carré d'Encre") below. Thank you very much Joël :-)

J'aime bien le TAD Premier Jour, également conçu par Eve Luquet, montrant ces 2 mêmes tours se reflétant dans un plan d'eau du parc.
Ce château d'eau, construit entre 1969 et 1971, est une oeuvre du sculpteur grec Philolaos (1923-2010) à l'initiative de l'architecte urbaniste André Gomis (1926-1971).
Ce monument, unique au monde, a reçu de nombreuses distinctions, en particulier "meilleure oeuvre d'art urbain en France", et s'est vu attribué le label "Patrimoine du 20ème siècle".
A noter que la poste française avait déjà émis 2 timbres dans le passé consacrés à cette ville de Valence : "Maison des Têtes" (1988) et "Kiosque Peynet" (2000).
I really like the FDC cancellation, also designed by Eve Luquet, showing these two towers reflected in a lake of this park.

Afin de sensibiliser la population à l'importance des cultures vivrières, constituant en particulier un rempart contre les crises alimentaires et la surpopulation, la Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a émis, le 5 mars 2013 (année 102 localement), une série de 4 timbres consacrés à la culture de céréales.
Deux timbres de cette série figurent sur l'enveloppe FDC ci-dessous avec un TAD spécial de Yungho (Taipei) différent toutefois de l'oblitération Premier Jour. Merci beaucoup George :-)
Le timbre à droite (NT$ 5) évoque la culture du riz (Oryza sativa), une plante herbacée annuelle qui se développe en particulier sous des climats chauds et pluvieux.
Aliment de base à Taïwan, le riz est cultivé principalement dans les comtés de Changhua, Yunlin et Chiayi.
To heighten awareness of the importance of food crops, especially forming a rampart against food crises and overpopulation, the Chunghwa Post of Taiwan has issued, on March 5, 2013 (the year 102  locally), a series of four stamps dedicated the cereals crop.
Two stamps of this series were used on the enveloppe FDC below with a special postmark from Yungho (Taipei), different however from the FDC cancellation. Thank you very much George :-)
The stamp to the right (NT $ 5.00) refers to rice crop (Oryza sativa), an annual herbaceous plant growing in warm and rainy climates particularly.
Staple food in Taiwan, rice is grown mainly in the counties of Changhua, Yunlin and Chiayi.

L'autre timbre (NT$ 10) évoque la culture du maïs (Zea mays), également une plante herbacée annuelle cultivée pour l'alimentation des habitants mais aussi pour le fourrage des animaux.
Le maïs est principalement cultivé à Taïwan dans les régions de Hsinchu, Miaoli et Jianan, préférant des températures élevées sans trop de soleil.
Chaque timbre de cette série (les 2 autres timbres sont consacrés au mil et au blé) représente un fruit en gros plan en bas à droite ainsi que la façon dont il est récolté dans le fond.
The other stamp (NT $ 10.00) evokes the maize crop (Zea mays), also an annual herbaceous plant grown for feeding people but also as fodder for animals.
Maize is mainly grown in Taiwan in the regions of Hsinchu, Miaoli and Jianan, preferring high temperatures without too much sun.
Each stamp of this series (the other two stamps are devoted to millet and wheat) depicts a close-up fruit on the bottom right as well as the way it is harvested in the background.

Très heureux de publier mon premier courrier affranchi avec un timbre EUROPA 2013 !
Plus précisément un bloc-feuillet, composé d'un timbre (12,5 DKK), émis le 4 mars 2013 par la poste du Danemark, consacré au thème des "véhicules postaux" cette année où l'organisation postale PostEurop célèbre son 20ème anniversaire.

Ce timbre représente le nouveau vélo électrique à 3 roues, conçu en collaboration avec le fabricant Nihola, utilisé par les employés de la poste danoise.
Depuis 2011, les mobylettes polluantes et les anciens vélos postaux ont commencé à être remplacés par ce type de vélo électrique moderne, afin de réduire les émissions de CO2 de 40% d'ici 2020 !
A noter que ce timbre (gravé par Bertil Skov Jørgensen) a également été émis en feuille de 36 timbres autocollants.

More precisely with a souvenir sheet consisting of one stamp (DKK 12.50), issued on March 4, 2013 by the Post of Denmark, dedicated to the theme of "the postman van" this year (postal organization PostEurop celebrating its 20th anniversary).

That stamp depicts the new three-wheel electric bicycle, designed in collaboration with the manufacturer Nihola, used by employees of the Danish Post.
Since 2011, polluting gasoline mopeds and old postal bikes began to be replaced by this modern type of electric bike, in order to cut Post Danmark's CO2 emissions by 40% by 2020 !
To note that this stamp (engraved by Bertil Skov Jørgensen) was also issued in sheet of 36 self-adhesive stamps.

Bertil Skov Jørgensen a également gravé l'autre timbre ci-dessus à gauche (8 DKK), émis aussi le 4 mars 2013, consacré au 200ème anniversaire de la naissance du célèbre théologien et philosophe danois Søren Aabye Kierkegaard (1813-1855).
Ce timbre, conçu à partir d'un portrait du philosophe (vers 1840) par Niels Christian Kierkegaard (1806-1882), a été émis conjointement avec la poste des îles Féroé où Kierkegaard a eu une grande influence sur la vie religieuse des ces îles au 19ème siècle.
Une des plus grandes figures culturelles du Danemark, Kierkegaard, à travers plus de 40 ouvrages publiés (ayant souvent pour thèmes l'anxiété, la foi, la séduction, l'amour ou le désespoir), est considéré comme un des fondateurs de l'existentialisme moderne.
Une de ses idées maîtresses était que chaque homme est unique et qu'il devait s'extraire de la foule ignorante et anonyme...
Bertil Skov Jørgensen has also engraved the other stamp above to the left (DKK 8.00), also issued on March 4, 2013, devoted to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the famous Danish philosopher and theologian Søren Aabye Kierkegaard (1813-1855).
That stamp, designed from a portrait of the philosopher (circa 1840) by Niels Christian Kierkegaard (1806-1882), was jointly issued with the Post of the Faroe Islands where Kierkegaard had a great influence on the religious life of these islands in the 19th century.
One of the greatest cultural figures of Denmark, Kierkegaard, through more than 40 books published (having often anxiety, faith, seduction, love or despair for subjects), is considered as one of the founders of the modern existentialism.
One of his main ideas was that each person is unique and should be extracted from the ignorant and anonymous crowd...

Comme les années précédentes, la poste slovaque a émis, le 1er mars 2013, un timbre spécial consacré aux festivités de Pâques, une des principales célébrations catholiques.
C'est ce timbre (0,45€, tirage : 1700000), conçu par Robert Jančovič, qui a été utilisé à droite sur cette lettre postée le 27 mars 2013 de Bratislava. Merci beaucoup Robert :-)

As in previous years, the Slovak Post has issued on March 1, 2013, a special stamp dedicated to Easter, one of the main Catholic celebrations.
It is that stamp (€ 0.45, print run : 1,700,000), designed by Robert Jančovič, that was used to the right on the cover below mailed on March 27, 2013 from Bratislava. Thank you very much Robert :-)
That stamp, also issued in a booklet of 10 self-adhesive stamps, evokes a decorated Easter egg from a work by Ľudovít Fulla (1902-1980), a great figure of Slovak fine art of the 20th century.
His colorful works are inspired in an unusual way by avant-garde painting, folk art, icons and medieval art.

L'autre timbre ci-dessus (0,65€, tirage : 500000), conçu par Dušan Grečner, a été émis le 14 mars 2013 pour commémorer le 100ème anniversaire de la naissance de Dominik Tatarka (1913-1989).
Ecrivain et essayiste, Dominik Tatarka est une figure importante de la scène culturelle et littéraire slovaque du 20ème siècle.
Avec ses oeuvres (parfois autobiographiques ou inspirées du surréalisme) souvent interdites de publication sous le régime communiste à partir de 1968, Dominik Tatarka reste un auteur exceptionnel de l'intensité des moments mortels, tragiques et mélancoliques de l'existence humaine...
Parmi ses oeuvres traduites en français : "Le démon du consentement" et "Une saison à Paris".
The other stamp above (€ 0.65, print run : 500,000), designed by Dušan Grečner, was issued on March 14, 2013 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dominik Tatarka (1913-1989).

Pour commémorer le 135ème anniversaire de la guerre russo-turque de 1877-1878, les 2 administrations postales de la fédération de Russie et de la république de Bulgarie ont émis un bloc-feuillet commun le 5 mars 2013.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les 2 jolis plis ci-dessous affranchis respectivement avec les versions bulgares et russes de ce bloc. Merci beaucoup Tsvetana et Youri :-)
Ce bloc-feuillet reproduit une partie de l'oeuvre du peintre russe Nikolaï Dmitriev-Orenbourgski (1837-1898) intitulée "Le général Skobelev sur un cheval" (1883), conservée au musée régional d'art d'Irkoutsk.
To commemorate the 135th anniversary of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, the two postal administrations of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bulgaria have issued a joint souvenir sheet on March 5, 2013.
I was lucky enough to receive the two nice covers below franked with the respective Bulgarian and Russian versions of this sheet. Thank you very much Tsvetana and Yuri :-)
This souvenir sheet reproduces a part of the work by Russian painter Nikolai Dmitriev-Orenbourgski (1837-1898) entitled "General Skobelev on a Horse" (1883), kept in the Regional Art Museum of Irkutsk.

Le général russe Mikhaïl Dmitrievitch Skobelev (1843-1882), surnommé le "général blanc" fut en effet un des héros de cette guerre russo-turque en particulier grâce à son action décisive dans la passe de Chipka en été 1877.
Mais revenons à l'origine de cette guerre. Un mouvement panslaviste voit le jour dans les Balkans contre l'empire ottoman, en particulier après la révolte de Bosnie en 1875 et l'insurrection bulgare de 1876 qui sera réprimée dans le sang (15000 bulgares seront massacrés par les turcs).
Les troupes russes, alliées aux armées de Roumanie, Serbie, Monténégro et de volontaires bulgares, entrent ainsi en guerre en avril 1877 contre les troupes ottomanes, sur les deux fronts du Caucase et des Balkans.

Russina General Mikhail Dmitrievich Skobelev (1843-1882), nicknamed the "White General", was indeed one of the heroes of this Russo-Turkish War in particular through his decisive action in the Shipka pass in summer 1877.
But let's go back to the origin of this war. A Pan-Slavic movement was born in the Balkans region against the Ottoman Empire, particularly after the revolt of Bosnia in 1875 and the Bulgarian uprising of 1876, that was repressed in the blood (15,000 Bulgarians were massacred by the Turks).
Russian troops, allied to armies of Romania, Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgarian volunteers, declared war in April 1877 on the Ottoman troops on both fronts in the Caucasus and the Balkans.

En janvier 1878, les turcs demandent un armistice qui débouchera sur la signature du traité de San Stefano le 3 mars 1878, reconnaissant la suprématie de la Russie dans cette région des Balkans.
Cette date est reconnue en Bulgarie comme une journée de libération nationale après plus de 500 ans d'occupation des Ottomans. L'indépendance de la Bulgarie ne sera toutefois reconnue qu'en 1908.

In January 1878, the Turkish demand for an armistice which will lead to the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano on March 3, 1878, recognizing the supremacy of Russia in the Balkans.
This date is known in Bulgaria as the National Day of Liberation after more than 500 years of Ottoman occupation. The independence of Bulgaria will be however recognized only in 1908.

I've already mentioned in a previous post the two se-tenant stamps to the right, issued on March 6, 2013, devoted respectively to the Aero HC2-Heli Baby helicopter and to the steam tugboat Péčko 18.

Bret a complété son affranchissement avec un timbre (4 CZK), émis le 29 septembre 2010, faisant partie de la jolie série courante consacrée à des fleurs, une anémone ("sasanka" en tchèque) ici. 
Cette série courante a été remplacée en 2011 par une nouvelle série (également gravée par Bohumil Šneider et conçue par Jan Kavan) consacrée à l'architecture traditionnelle de différentes régions du pays.
Le 6 mars 2013, la poste tchèque a ainsi émis une nouvelle valeur (14 CZK) faisant partie de cette série. C'est ce timbre qui figure à gauche sur cette lettre ci-dessus.
Bret has also used a stamp (4 CZK), issued on September 29, 2010, being part of the nice definitive series devoted to flowers, an Anemone ("sasanka" in Czech) here.
This definitive series was replaced in 2011 by a new stamp set (also engraved by Bohumil Šneider and designed by Jan Kavan) dedicated to the traditional folk architecture from different regions of the country.
On March 6, 2013, the Czech Post has thus issued a new value (14 CZK) being part of this series. It is that stamp that appears to the left of this cover above.

Comme de coutume, la poste tchèque a émis le feuillet spécial ci-dessus consacré à ce timbre courant. Aucun TAD Premier Jour n'a été émis d'où ce simple cachet manuel de Prague du 1er jour d'émission ("den vydání" en tchèque) qui a été appliqué sur ce timbre.
Ce timbre représente la façade d'une maison à colombages située dans le village de Nový Hrozenkov, dans l'est du pays, près de la frontière slovaque.
Construite en 1835, cette maison abrite depuis 1977 un musée consacré au peintre et illustrateur Antonín Strnadel.
As usual, the Czech Post has issued the special sheet above regarding that definitive stamp.
No FDC cancellation has been issued, only the simple hand postmark from Prague on the first day of issue ("den vydání" in Czech) that was applied on this stamp.
This stamp depicts the front of a half-timbered cottage located in the village of Nový Hrozenkov, in eastern country, near the Slovakian border.
Built in 1835, this house is used ,since 1977, as a museum dedicated to the painter and illustrator Antonín Strnadel.

Dans un message publié sur ce blog le 27 octobre 2012, j'évoquais un entier postal émis à l'occasion d'une exposition consacrée à différentes oeuvres de l'artiste et concepteur de nombreux timbres pour la poste tchèque, Oldřich Kulhánek, organisée du 5 octobre au 11 novembre 2012 à Jilemnice.
Une oblitération spéciale avait alors été émise, conçue par Oldřich Kulhánek lui-même, représentant ses initiales (que l'on retrouve en haut sur le feuillet ci-dessus).
Oldřich Kulhánek est décédé le 28 janvier 2013 et la poste tchèque lui a rendu hommage en émettant ce feuillet commémoratif ci-dessus le 26 février 2013 (en référence à son jour de naissance en 1940).
Un timbre caractéristique de son style (et de son travail minutieux autour du dessin des mains), émis en 2009, a été choisi sur ce feuillet (400 ans de la lettre de majesté du roi Rodolphe II octroyant la liberté religieuse aux sujets de Bohême).
In a post published on this blog on October 27th 2012, I referred to a postal stationery issued on the occasion of an exhibition devoted to various works by the artist and Czech Post's stamp designer, Oldřich Kulhánek, organized from October 5 to November 11, 2012 in Jilemnice.
A special postmark was then issued, designed by Oldřich Kulhánek himself, featuring his initials (also included on the postmark at the top of the sheet above).
Oldřich Kulhánek died on January 28th 2013 and the Czech Post paid a tribute to him by issuing this commemorative sheet above on February 26th 2013 (referring to his birthday in 1940).
A characteristic Kulhánek style's stamp (and his meticulous work on hand's drawing), issued in 2009, was chosen on this sheet (400 years of King Rudoplh II's letter of majesty granting religious freedom to Bohemian people).

Du 16 au 30 mars 2013 a eu lieu la 23ème édition du Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles dans le désert marocain, le seul Rallye Raid ouvert uniquement à des équipages féminins depuis 1990.
Contrairement aux autres rallyes, celui-ci adopte une autre vision de la compétition automobile, sans vitesse à tout prix (dans le respect des populations locales et de l'environnement) et avec une navigation sans GPS.
La sécurité des 150 équipages (de 20 nationalités différentes) engagés dans cette 23ème édition (catégories 4x4, Crossover, quads, RZR et buggy) est assuré via un système de suivi par satellite.
From 16 to 30 March 2013 took place the 23rd edition of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles in the Moroccan desert, the only Rally Raid only open to women crews since 1990.
Contrary to other Rally Raids, this one adopts a different view of the racing, without speed (respecting the local people and the environment) and a navigation without GPS.
The security of the 150 crews (from 20 different nationalities) engaged in this 23th edition (4x4, Crossover, quads, buggy and RZR categories) is ensured through a system of satellite tracking.

Un TAD spécial a été mis en circulation lors de la 1ère journée de ce rallye à Paris le 16 mars 2013, représentant le logo officiel du Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les 2 plis spéciaux ci-dessus (merci beaucoup Roland !) et ci-dessous (merci beaucoup Joël !) sur lesquels cette oblitération a été appliquée :-)
Les 4 timbres utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus font partie d'un feuillet "Voitures anciennes" composé de 10 timbres, émis le 9 mai 2000, à l'occasion de l'exposition philatélique "PhilexJeunes" à Annecy.
Ces 4 timbres (avec double faciale en francs et en euros) représentent les modèles : 4 CV (Renault), 203 (Peugeot), Chambord (Simca) et DS 10 (Citroën).
A special postmark has been put into circulation on the first day of this Rally in Paris on March 16th 2013, featuring the official logo of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles.

The four stamps used on the letter above are part of a "Vintage Cars" sheet consisting of 10 stamps, issued on May 9, 2000, on the occasion of the philatelic exhibition "PhilexJeunes" in Annecy.
These four stamps (with nominal values in both Francs and Euros) depict these cars : 4 CV (Renault), 203 (Peugeot), Chambord (Simca) and DS 10 (Citroën).

J'ai enfin déjà évoqué sur ce blog le timbre en 2 exemplaires ci-dessus, émis le 18 mars 2013, consacré à l'inauguration du pont levant Jacques Chaban-Delmas à Bordeaux.
A noter qu'à l'occasion de la Journée Internationale de la Femme, la poste française a émis le 9 mars 2013 un carnet de 12 timbres intitulé "Valeurs de femmes, Femmes de valeurs" ayant pour thème ce même Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles (La Poste en est un des partenaires techniques).
