Le mois de septembre a été faste pour la République Tchèque avec l'attribution de 2 récompenses internationales pour l'administration postale du pays !
Je suis très heureux pour Bret et la poste tchèque car c'est toujours avec un énorme plaisir que je partage avec vous sur ce blog ses splendides timbres (gravés ou non).
Le 1er timbre récompensé s'est vu attribué le Grand Prix WIPA (WIPA est le nom d'une exposition internationale qui a lieu à Vienne) pour l'année 2010.
The month of September was auspicious for the Czech Republic with two international awards for the postal administration of the country !
I'm very happy for Bret and the Czech Post because it is always with great pleasure that I share with you on this blog its beautiful stamps (engraved or not).
The first stamp was awarded by the WIPA Grand Prix (WIPA is the name of an international exhibition held in Vienna) for the year 2010.
C'est le timbre ci-dessus (en 3 exemplaires), émis le 29 septembre 2010, qui a été récompensé. Merci beaucoup Bret de m'avoir envoyé ce FDC spécial :-)
Ce timbre, conçu par Dušan Kállay, est consacré au musée postal de Prague et à une enseigne postale datant de l'empire des Habsbourg en particulier.
Cette enseigne (datant probablement de 1870), représentant l'aigle à deux têtes des Habsbourg et un cor postal, inclus la mention "Kaiserlich-Königlichen Post und Telegrafen Amt." ("bureau postal et télégraphique impérial et royal") en allemand et tchèque.
Comme pour la plupart des FDC officiels émis par la poste tchèque, l'illustration gravée sur l'enveloppe est souvent aussi intéressante que le timbre lui-même ! C'est le cas encore ici avec une évocation du 1er timbre "KKPost-Stempel", émis il y a 160 ans sur décret de l'empereur François-Joseph I...
It is the stamp above (in three copies), issued on September 29, 2010, which was awarded. Thank you very much Bret for having sent me this special FDC :-)
This stamp, designed by Dušan Kállay, is devoted to the Postal Museum in Prague and a postal sign dating from the Habsburg Empire in particular.
This sign (probably dating from 1870), featuring the Habsburg's two-headed eagle and a post horn, includes the words "Kaiserlich-Königlichen Post und Telegrafen Amt." ("Imperial-Royal Post and telegraph office") both in German and Czech.
As most official FDC issued by the Czech Post, the engraved illustration on this envelope is often as interesting as the stamp itself ! It's still the case here with an evocation of the first "KKPost-Stempel" stamp, issued 160 years ago by decree of Emperor Franz Joseph I...

Bret has sent me a copy of the interesting letter (in German) of September 17th 2012 above received by the Czech Post, devoted to this WIPA Grand Prix award !
Bret m'a également envoyé le FDC ci-dessus émis le 31 août 2011, consacré à Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), sans doute pour commémorer le 255ème anniversaire de sa naissance ou le 220ème anniversaire de sa mort. Ce timbre, conçu par la graphiste tchèque Marina Richterová, montre Mozart dirigeant un orchestre avec une partition originale de l'opéra "Don Giovanni" dans le fond.
Mozart dirigea pour la 1ère fois cet opéra, le 29 octobre 1787, dans le théâtre des États de Prague, qui figure également en bas à gauche sur ce timbre. Ce timbre s'est en effet vu attribué la 3ème place du trophée Yehudi Menuhin 2012 récompensant les timbres ayant pour thème la musique émis en 2011.
Bret has also sent me the FDC above issued on August 31, 2011, dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), probably to commemorate the 255th anniversary of his birth or the 220th anniversary of his death. This stamp, created by Czech designer Marina Richterová, shows Mozart directing an orchestra with an original score of the opera "Don Giovanni" in the background.
Mozart conducted for the first time this opera, on October 29, 1787 in the Estates Theatre in Prague, which also appears at the bottom left on this stamp.
This stamp has indeed been awarded the 3rd place of the Yehudi Menuhin Trophy 2012 awarding the most popular music stamps issued in 2011.
La remise de ce prix, qui porte le nom de ce célèbre violoniste depuis 2000, est organisée par l'association allemande thématique Motivgruppe Musik e.V.
Comme pour le prix précédent, voici ci-dessus une copie du courrier du 8 septembre 2012 adressé à la poste tchèque l'informant de l'attribution de ce Prix !
Et ci-dessous une copie du certificat en l'honneur de ce timbre Mozart.
A noter que le choix de ce meilleur timbre musical 2011 s'est fait par vote sur internet parmi 250 propositions et c'est Chypre, avec une série consacrée à des compositeurs du 18ème siècle (dont Mozart !), qui a remporté le 1er Prix et Jersey (série consacrée à des instruments de musique) le 2ème Prix.
The Yehudi Menuhin award (named after the famous violinist since 2000) ceremony is organized by the German thematic stamp Association "Motivgruppe Musik e.V.".
As with the previous award, here is above a copy of the letter dated September 8th 2012 addressed to the Czech Post devoted to this stamp award !
And here is below a copy of the certificate issued in honor of this Mozart stamp.
To note that the choice of this best music stamp issued in 2011 was done by internet voting among 250 proposals and it is Cyprus, with a stamp series devoted to composers of the 18th century (including Mozart !), that won the 1st Prize and Jersey (series devoted to musical instruments) the 2nd Prize.
