Le 3 mai 2018, la poste moldave a mis en circulation une intéressante série (2 timbres) intitulée "Des inventions et découvertes qui ont changé le monde" ("Invenții și descoperiri care au schimbat lumea"), en particulier un focus sur Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) et son moteur électrique à induction et Alexander Fleming (1881-1955) et sa découverte de la pénicilline.

On May 3, 2018, the Post of Moldova put into circulation an interesting series (2 stamps) entitled "Inventions and discoveries that changed the world" ("Invenții și descoperiri care au schimbat lumea"), in particular a focus on Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) and his induction electric motor and Alexander Fleming (1881-1955) and his discovery of penicillin.

Nikola Tesla (5,75 L, tirage : 100000), physicien serbo-américain parfois surnommé "L'homme qui a éclairé le monde", est considéré comme un génie dans le domaine de l'électricité, de l'énergie, de la transmission sans fil et du magnétisme.
A travers ses nombreuses découvertes (il a déposé plus de 300 brevets couvrant 125 inventions), Tesla a anticipé la radio, l'impression à distance et un "système télégraphique mondial" qui annonçait la société de l'information que l'on connait aujourd'hui.
En 1928 (il y a 90 ans), le médecin et biologiste britannique Alexander Fleming (9,50 L, tirage : 50000) découvrait (accidentellement) une substance antibiotique appelée pénicilline, pour laquelle il a reçu le prix Nobel de physiologie ou médecine en 1945.
Les pénicillines sont largement utilisées dans le traitement d'infections bactériennes.

Nicolae m'a également envoyé cet ancien entier postal ci-dessus (0,09 L, tirage : 50000, conception : Ivan Picev) mis en circulation le 24 octobre 1995 à l'occasion du 50ème anniversaire de la création de l'Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU). La même année, la poste moldave avait émis une série de 3 timbres sur le même thème.
La République de Moldavie est membre de l'ONU depuis le 2 mars 1992.
Nicolae also sent me this old postal stationery above (L 0.09, print run: 50,000, design: Ivan Picev) put into circulation on October 24, 1995 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations (UN). The same year, the Post of Moldova issued a series of 3 stamps on the same theme.
The Republic of Moldova became officially a member of the United Nations on March 2, 1992.
