Le 2 mai 2018, la poste moldave a mis en circulation sa 3ème enveloppe pré-timbrée de l'année (tarif postal domestique jusqu'à 20g - 1,75 L), consacrée au réalisateur, producteur et scénariste de théâtre et cinéma Valeriu Gagiu (1938-2010) à l'occasion du 80ème anniversaire de sa naissance.

On May 2, 2018, the Post of Moldova issued its third prepaid envelope of the year (domestic postal rate up to 20g - L 1.75), dedicated to the film and theatre director, producer and screenwriter Valeriu Gagiu (1938 -2010) on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of his birth.

Valeriu Gagiu a étudié le cinéma à l'institut de cinématographie de Moscou - VGIK entre 1958 et 1963 puis a commencé à collaborer avec les studios de cinéma Moldova-film en écrivant le scénario du film "Omul merge dupa soare" puis d'autres films poétiques du même type.
Il commence à réaliser ses premiers films à partir de 1966, comme "Gustul pâinii" (1966), "Zece ierni pe-o vară" (1969) ou "Explozie cu efect întârziat" (1970) puis le film musical "Unde ești, iubire?" ("Où es-tu, l'amour ?") en 1980, interprété par la chanteuse ukrainienne Sofia Rotaru (plus de 25 millions d'entrées dans l'ex-URSS).
A partir des années 1990, Valeriu Gagiu réalisera des films documentaires comme "Crăciunul însângerat" (1989) consacré à la révolution de 1989 en Roumanie ou "Duet pentru doi lunetiști" (1992) consacré au conflit armé entre les troupes moldaves et les séparatistes de Transnistrie.
Valeriu Gagiu studied cinema at the Institute of Cinematography in Moscow - VGIK between 1958 and 1963, then began to collaborate with film studios Moldova-film while writing the screenplay for the film "Omul merge dupa soare" and other poetic films of the same type.

Dans les années 2000, il a été professeur à l'académie de musique, théâtre et beaux-arts à Chişinău.
Au cours de sa carrière, Valeriu Gagiu a reçu de nombreux prix lors de festivals de cinéma internationaux, principalement dans des pays d'Europe de l'est et de l'ex-URSS.
Nicolae a utilisé un autre timbre (12 L) ci-dessus, faisant partie d'une série (2 timbres) émise le 21 novembre 1992, consacrée à l'admission de la Moldavie à l'ONU.
In the 2000s, he was a professor at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chişinău.
During his career, Valeriu Gagiu has received numerous awards at international film festivals, mainly in Eastern Europe and the former USSR.
Nicolae used another stamp (L 12.00) above, being part of a series (2 stamps) issued on November 21, 1992, devoted to the admission of Moldova to the UN.
