Le 11 août 2017, la Fédération royale marocaine de football annonçait qu'elle présente sa candidature pour l'organisation de la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA 2026, la 5ème candidature de ce pays après les tentatives infructueuses de 1994, 1998, 2006 et 2010...
Le 23 janvier 2018, le logo officiel de cette candidature a été dévoilé lors d'une conférence de presse de la Fédération royale marocaine de football à Casablanca.
Ce logo est inspiré du drapeau national avec cette étoile pentagramme verte entourée de sept feuilles rouges, donnant un coup de pied dans un ballon de football noir et blanc symbolisant l'unité et la brillance.

On January 23, 2018, the official logo of this candidacy was unveiled at a press conference of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation in Casablanca.
This logo is inspired by the national flag with this green pentagram star surrounded by seven red leaves, kicking a black and white ball symbolizing unity and brilliance.
Le 17 avril 2018, la poste marocaine Barid Al Maghrib a mis en circulation un timbre spécial (9 dirhams) consacré à cette candidature du Maroc pour organiser cette coupe du monde de football en 2026.
Merci beaucoup Pierre pour ce très joli FDC officiel ci-dessus (n° 0161, tirage inconnu) concernant ce timbre "Maroc 2026", avec TAD classique additionnel (de Rabat ?) en date du 3 mai 2018 !
Le logo de cette candidature est présent au centre de ce timbre, la partie inférieure étant inspirée par un mélange de culture traditionnelle marocaine et de ses éléments les plus modernes, par exemple une ancienne porte de la médina, des instruments de musique traditionnels et le nouveau train à grande vitesse (éléments identiques sur l'enveloppe).
L'annonce du pays organisateur de cette coupe du monde 2026 (une 2ème candidature conjointe Canada/USA/Mexique) aura lieu le 13 juin 2018 lors du congrès de la FIFA à Moscou.
On April 17, 2018, the Moroccan Post "Barid Al Maghrib" put into circulation a special stamp (9 Dirhams) devoted to this candidature of Morocco to organize this FIFA World Cup in 2026.

The logo of this candidature is present in the middle on that stamp, the lower part being inspired by a mixture of traditional Moroccan culture and its most modern elements, for example an ancient medina door, traditional musical instruments and the new high speed train (identical elements on the envelope).
The announcement of the host country for this FIFA World Cup 2026 (a 2nd joint Canada/USA/Mexico bid) will take place on June 13, 2018 at the FIFA Congress in Moscow.
