Cette série EUROPA, imprimée en France par Cartor Security Printing, est à mon humble avis une des plus réussies cette année avec ces tons pastels (bleu et vert) et ce style moderne, une conception du studio "Vermillion Design" basé à Dublin.
L'illustration à gauche sur cette enveloppe évoque le pont Samuel Beckett, un pont à haubans conçu par le célèbre architecte espagnol Santiago Calatrava Valls, inauguré à Dublin en 2009.
Ce même pont est à l'honneur sur le TAD Premier Jour.

This EUROPA set, printed in France by Cartor Security Printing, is in my humble opinion one of the most successful this year with these (blue and green) pastel shades and this modern style, a design by the "Vermillion Design" studio based in Dublin.
The illustration on the left shows the Samuel Beckett Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge designed by the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, inaugurated in Dublin in 2009.
This same bridge is in the spotlight on the First Day cancellation.
Le timbre à gauche (1€, tirage : 122000) représente la passerelle de Mizen Head, construite par Irishenco et inaugurée en mars 2011.
Cette passerelle a alors remplacé un pont plus ancien, construit en 1909 pour accéder au phare de Mizen Head, un des sites situés les plus au sud de l'Irlande (comté de Cork), prisé des touristes pour ses falaises donnant sur la mer.
L'autre timbre (1,50€, tirage : 94000) est consacré au viaduc de Boyne, un pont ferroviaire construit entre 1851 et 1855 sur la rivière Boyne à Drogheda (comté de Louth), une ville portuaire et industrielle situé sur la côte nord-est du pays.
Constitué de 15 arches en pierre et d'une partie métallique centrale, ce pont (rénové dans les années 1930 et 1990) est situé sur la ligne de chemin de fer reliant Dublin à Belfast.
The stamp on the left (€ 1.00, print run: 122,000) represents the Mizen Head footbridge, built by Irishenco and inaugurated in March 2011.
This bridge then replaced an older bridge, built in 1909, to provide access to the Mizen Head lighthouse, one of the most southerly sites in Ireland (County Cork), popular with tourists for its dramatic cliff scenery.
The other stamp (€ 1.50, print run: 94,000) is dedicated to the Boyne Viaduct, a railway bridge built between 1851 and 1855 on the Boyne River in Drogheda (County Louth), a port and industrial city located on the northeast coast of the country.
Composed of 15 stone arches and a central metal part, this bridge (renovated in the 1930s and 1990s) is located on the Dublin-Belfast railway line.
