A noter ce slogan "An Post supporting Pride" à gauche sur l'oblitération mécanique du Dublin Mails Centre, rappelant que la poste irlandaise soutient cette Marche des Fiertés ou "Pride" dans le pays,
une manifestation du mouvement LGBT destinée à donner une visibilité à ces personnes et à revendiquer la liberté et l'égalité des orientations sexuelles et des identités de genre (le célèbre drapeau arc-en-ciel a été hissé sur le célèbre GPO de Dublin pour l'occasion).

To note this slogan "An Post supporting Pride" on the left on the mechanical cancellation of the Dublin Mails Center, recalling that the Irish Post supports the Pride March in the country, a manifestation of the LGBT movement to give visibility to these people and to claim freedom and equality of sexual orientations and gender identities (the famous rainbow flag was hoisted on the famous GPO of Dublin for the occasion).
This stamp (international "W" rate for a shipment up to 100g, € 1.70 currently, print run: 94,000) is dedicated to the song "Danny Boy".
"Danny Boy" est une ballade sur une mélodie irlandaise traditionnelle dont les paroles ont été écrites en 1913 par l'auteur anglais Frederic Weatherly. Les paroles ont été réarrangées afin de mieux correspondre à la mélodie d'accompagnement de "Londonderry Air", une mélodie populaire au sein de la diaspora irlandaise, parfois utilisée par l'Irlande du Nord comme hymne avant certaines compétitions sportives.
Ce timbre, imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printing, inclut les premières paroles de cette chanson "Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling" imprimées avec une encre dorée, avec le portrait, dans le fond, d'un des premiers interprètes de cette chanson dans les années 1920, le ténor irlandais John McCormack (1884-1945).

"Danny Boy" is a ballad on a traditional Irish melody whose lyrics were written in 1913 by the English author Frederic Weatherly. The lyrics have been rearranged to better match the accompanying melody of "Londonderry Air", a popular melody within the Irish diaspora, sometimes used by Northern Ireland as a hymn before some sports competitions.
This stamp, printed in France by Cartor Security Printing, includes the first words of this song "Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling" printed with a golden ink, with, in the background, the portrait of one of the first performers of this song in the 1920s, the Irish tenor John McCormack (1884-1945).
