La poste thaïlandaise a déjà émis de nombreux timbres dans le passé (2018, 2017, 2016, 2012 pour les plus récents) pour célébrer les anniversaires de la reine Sirikit Kitiyakara (née en 1932 à Bangkok), l'épouse du roi Rama IX (Bhumibol Adulyadej) décédé en 2016.
Elle fut reine consort après son mariage en 1950 avec le roi Rama IX (dont le règne avait commencé en 1946) puis, après la mort de son époux, connue comme la "Reine mère" car le roi actuel, Rama X (Maha Wachiralongkon), est un de ses 4 enfants.
Le 30 août 2019 (2019 correspondant à l'année 2562 dans le calendrier bouddhiste), un nouveau timbre (9 baht) a été mis en circulation, concernant le 87ème anniversaire de la reine Sirikit.
L'anniversaire de la reine Sirikit, comme celui du roi, est un jour férié et le jour de la fête des mères en Thaïlande.
The Thai Post has already issued many stamps in the past (2018, 2017, 2016, 2012 for the most recent) to celebrate the anniversaries of Queen Sirikit Kitiyakara (born in 1932 in Bangkok), the wife of King Rama IX (Bhumibol Adulyadej) who died in 2016.
She was queen consort after her marriage in 1950 with King Rama IX (whose reign began in 1946) and, after the death of her husband, known as the "Queen Mother" because the current king, Rama X (Maha Wachiralongkon), is one of her four children.
On August 30, 2019 (2019 corresponding to the year 2562 in the Buddhist calendar), a new stamp (9 Baht) was put into circulation, regarding the 87th birthday of Queen Sirikit.
Queen Sirikit's birthday, as is the king's, is a national holiday, and also Mothers' Day in Thailand.
Un grand merci Thapanaphong pour ce joli pli Premier Jour concernant ce timbre (en 2 exemplaires ici), envoyé depuis le bureau de poste de Sam Sen Nai dans le quartier de Phaya Thai (centre de Bangkok), où est situé le musée philatélique thaïlandais !
J'aime beaucoup le TAD et semble-t-il cette fleur de lotus et je suppose que le timbre représente un portrait officiel de la reine, prise dans le palais royal de Bangkok, âgée d'une vingtaine d'années (après son mariage ?).
La reine Sirikit n'exerce pas de fonction politique, même si elle a assuré une régence en 1956, lors de la période de retraite monacale du roi Rama IX.
Elle occupe de nombreuses fonctions caritatives (elle est présidente de la Croix-Rouge thaïlandaise depuis 1956 par exemple) et le peuple thaïlandais la considère comme la "mère du Royaume".
La reine Sirikit est en particulier engagée envers les réfugiés, pour la protection de l'environnement, les conditions de vie des femmes dans les campagnes ou la promotion de la culture thaïlandaise.

I really like the postmark and, it seems, this lotus flower and I suppose the stamp represents an official portrait of the queen, taken in the royal palace of Bangkok, at the age of about twenty years (after her marriage ?).
Queen Sirikit does not have a political role, although she acted as regent in 1956 during the monastic retirement period of King Rama IX.
She has held many charitable functions (she is the President of the Thai Red Cross since 1956 for example) and Thai people consider her as the "mother of the Kingdom".
Queen Sirikit is particularly committed to refugees, for the protection of the environment, the living conditions of women in the countryside or the promotion of Thai culture.
