Le 30 janvier 2009, la poste autrichienne a émis un nouveau timbre de roulette autocollant, représentant une jolie vue du château de Villach Landskron, dans le land de Carinthie (sud du pays).
Il s'agit du timbre à 0,55€ en bas à gauche sur la lettre recommandée ci-dessous postée le 1er jour d'émission.

Pour la petite histoire, Villach a fait partie de l'empire français (provinces illyriennes) entre 1809 et 1813, à l'époque napoléonienne !
On January 30 2009, the Austrian Post issued a new self-adhesive roll stamp, depicting a nice view of the Villach Landskron Castle in the Land of Carinthia (south of Austria).
This is the € 0.55 stamp on the bottom left on the registered letter below mailed on the 1st day of issue.

For the anecdote, Villach was part of the French empire (Illyrian provinces) between 1809 and 1813 during the Napoleonic era !
Ce château de Landskron a été construit au 16ème siècle sur les fondations d'anciennes fortifications du 14ème siècle. Il abrite aujourd'hui un restaurant, un parc ornithologique pour avec des oiseaux de proie...Ce qui est intéressant sur cette lettre, c'est cette flamme bleue en haut faisant référence au 1er jour d'émission de ce timbre de roulette. C'est la première fois que je reçois une lettre avec ce type de flamme :-)
Le timbre à 0,55€ en bas à droite, représentant également une vue de ce château sous la neige, est en fait un timbre personnalisé (service "MeineMarke" de la poste autrichienne), émis le 1er janvier 2009.
This Landskron Castle was built in the 16th century on the foundations of old fortifications dating from the 14th century. It now houses a restaurant, an ornithologic park for birds of prey...
What is interesting about this cover is also this blue special printed meter marking at the top referring to the first day of issue of this roll stamp. This is the first time I receive such a letter with this kind of marking :-)
The € 0.55 stamp on the bottom right, also representing a view of the castle in winter, is actually a personalized stamp (from the Austrian Post "MeineMarke" service), issued on 1st January 2009.
Ce timbre a été émis à la demande de l'association des collectionneurs de timbres du danube ("BSV Donau" en allemand), section de Villach.Vous pouvez voir leur tampon sur l'autre face de cette lettre ci-dessus.
A noter également l'autocollant "Import France à flasher" de la poste française, qui s'accompagne d'un n° de recommandé français, dont je n'ai toujours pas trouvé la signification ?
This stamp was issued at the request of the Danube stamp collectors association ("BSV Donau" in German), section of Villach.
You can see their blue inkpad on the other side of this letter above.
Also note the "Import France à flasher" sticker from the French Post, on which is included a French registered number, about which I still have not found the meaning ?
Je vous montre enfin la jolie carte qui figurait dans cette enveloppe :-)Cette carte montre une vue ancienne (1649) de la ville de Villach, du quartier Cunégonde en particulier.
Cette carte a été éditée en 2007 pour célébrer les 1000 ans du rattachement de Villach à l'évêché de Bamberg (Bavière, Allemagne). Cela durera jusqu'en 1759.
L'association BSV Donau de Villach a d'ailleurs émis d'autres timbres personnalisés pour commémorer cet anniversaire ainsi que les 35 ans du jumelage entre les 2 villes en 2008.

This card depicts an old map (1649) of the city of Villach, Cunegonde district in particular.
This card was published in 2007 to celebrate the 1,000 years of the incorporation of Villach to the bishopric of Bamberg (Bavaria, Germany). It will last until 1759.
The BSV Donau association of Villach has also issued some other personalized stamps to commemorate this anniversary and the 35 years of twinning between the two cities in 2008.
