A nouveau ces impressionnants timbres à date rouge du bureau de poste de Miami (situé sur l'avenue des Amériques) sur cette jolie lettre postée le 14 novembre 2010 !

Le timbre à 42c (à droite), émis le 14 août 2008, est le 8ème de la série de l'USPS, débutée en 2001, intitulée "American Treasures", consacré cette fois au peintre Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902).
Peintre d'origine allemande, Bierstadt est connu pour ses nombreux paysages de l'Ouest américain, comme ce "Valley of the Yosemite", datant de 1864, conservé au musée des beaux-arts de Boston. Une partie du carnet (20 timbres) dans lequel ce timbre a été émis, figure en bas à gauche sur cette enveloppe.

The 42c stamp (to the right), issued on August 14, 2008, is the eighth in the series of the USPS, which started in 2001, entitled "American Treasures", this time devoted to the painter Albert Bierstadt ( 1830-1902).
German-born painter, Bierstadt is known for its many landscapes of the American West like this "Valley of the Yosemite", dating from 1864, kept at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A part of the booklet (20 stamps) in which this stamp was issued appears in the bottom left on this envelope.

Le timbre à 34c, émis le 1er février 2002, commémore le 100ème anniversaire de la naissance du poète, dramaturge et écrivain Langston Hughes (1902-1967).
Sa renommée est due en grande partie à son implication dans le mouvement culturel qui a secoué Harlem dans les années 1920.
L'USPS a choisi de reproduire une photographie de Hughes prise par le célèbre photographe français Henri Cartier-Bresson.
Ce timbre constitue le 25ème de la série "Black Heritage" débutée en 1978, consacrée à des personnalités noires. La poste canadienne émet également depuis 2009 des timbres à l'occasion du mois de l'histoire des noirs.
Eduardo a complété son affranchissement avec des timbres de type courant ("Lampe Tiffany", 2003 et "Harry S. Truman", 26 janvier 1984).
The 34c stamp, issued on February 1, 2002, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of poet, playwright and writer Langston Hughes (1902-1967).
His fame is largely due to his involvement in the cultural movement that rocked Harlem in the 1920s.
The USPS has chosen to reproduce a photograph of Hughes taken by famed French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson.
This stamp is the 25th of the series "Black Heritage", started in 1978, devoted to black personalities. Canada Post is also issuing since 2009 special stamps to mark Black History Month.
Eduardo has completed his postage with definitive stamps ("Tiffany Lamp", 2003 and "Harry S. Truman", January 26, 1984).
