100 Years of Postal Services in Brunei

Le 11 octobre 1906, le premier bureau de poste gouvernemental ouvrait ses portes à Brunei donnant naissance officiellement à un département de services postaux à part entière.
Brunei venait alors d'être intégré à l'union postale des Établissements des détroits administrés par la compagnie anglaise des Indes orientales.
L'année 1906 coïncide aussi avec l'émission des fameux timbres provisoires de Labuan avec la mention "Brunei" en surcharge, 11 ans après les tous 1ers timbres ("Étoile et Croissant") émis à Brunei...
On October 11, 1906, the first government post office was opened in Brunei giving birth to an official postal services department.
Brunei was then just admitted to the Straits Settlements Postal Union, administered by the British East India Company.
The year 1906 also coincided with the issue of the now famous provisional Labuan stamps, surcharged and overprinted "Brunei", 11 years after the first ever stamps ("Star and Crescent") issued in Brunei...

Le 11 octobre 2006, le département des services postaux (sous contrôle du ministère des communications) du sultanat de Brunei Darussalam a commémoré les 100 ans de sa création en émettant une série de 4 timbres (100 sen chacun) se-tenant.
Ces 4 timbres ont également été émis dans un bloc-feuillet.
Deux timbres de cette série figurent sur la jolie enveloppe illustrée ci-dessus postée le 3 janvier 2011 du MPC (Mail Processing Center) de Brunei.

Cette série représente des vues plus ou moins anciennes de différents bureaux de poste à travers le pays, ceux de Tutong (district de Tutong) et de Bangar (district de Temburong) ici.
Ce district de Temburong a la particularité de constituer une enclave, séparé du reste de Brunei par la Malaisie...
On October 11, 2006, the Postal Services Department (under control of the Ministry of Communications) of the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam has commemorated the 100th anniversary of its creation by issuing a series of four se-tenant stamps (100 sen each).
These four stamps were also issued in a souvenir sheet.
Two stamps of this series appear on the nice illustrated cover above posted on January 3, 2011 from the MPC (Mail Processing Center) of Brunei.

This series features some more or less old views of different post offices located across the country, those in Tutong (Tutong District) and Bangar (Temburong district) here.
This Temburong District has the particularity of constituting an enclave separated from the rest of Brunei by Malaysia...
