Merci beaucoup Terence pour cette carte postale envoyée le 19 juin 2017 depuis la ville philippine de Vigan, affranchie avec le timbre d'une série (ce timbre + 1 bloc-feuillet), émise le 12 novembre 2016, consacrée au 150ème anniversaire de la naissance de Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925), considéré comme "le père de la Chine moderne" et premier président de la République de Chine en 1912.
A noter ces 2 TAD ronds différents ainsi que cette empreinte de complément de couleur rouge (valeur 0 peso ?), en bas à droite (Ilocos faisant référence à la région de l'île de Luçon où Vigan est située) incluant le logo de la PHLPost.
Vigan est une ville célèbre aux Philippines car elle est inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO (depuis 1999) car considérée comme l'exemple le plus intact de ville coloniale espagnole fondée au 16ème siècle en Asie.
Thank you very much Terence for this postcard sent on June 19, 2017 from the Philippine city of Vigan, franked with the stamp of a series (that stamp + 1 souvenir sheet), issued on November 12, 2016, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925), considered as the "Father of modern China" and first president of the Republic of China in 1912.
To note these two different round postmarks as well as this red imprint (value 0 peso ?), at the bottom right (Ilocos referring to the region of the island of Luzon where Vigan is located), with the PHLPost's logo.
Vigan is a famous city in the Philippines because it is inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List (since 1999), considered as the best-preserved example of planned Spanish colonial town in Asia, established in the 16th century.
Sur ce timbre (18 pesos, tirage : 120000), conçu par Rodine C. Teodoro, Sun Yat-Sen est représenté sur une photographie d'une rencontre en 1912 avec Mariano Ponce (1863-1918), écrivain et membre actif du "Mouvement de propagande" qui réclamait plus de réformes et de droits pour les natifs philippins, à la fin du 19ème siècle.
Ponce fut choisi par le président Aguinaldo en 1898 pour représenter la Première République, le court régime que connurent les Philippines entre 1899 et 1901, animé par les indépendantistes durant la guerre américano-philippine.
Sun Yat-sen, ami de Ponce, a été un fervent allié de ce mouvement d'émancipation du peuple philippin contre l'occupant américain, en particulier en favorisant son armement.
On that stamp (18 Pesos, print run: 120,000), designed by Rodine C. Teodoro, Sun Yat-Sen is represented on a photograph during a meeting in 1912 with Mariano Ponce (1863-1918), writer and active member of the "Propaganda Movement", the period of time when native Filipinos were calling for reforms and more rights, at the end of the 19th century.
Ponce was chosen by President Aguinaldo in 1898 to represent the First Philippine Republic, the short regime experienced by the Philippines between 1899 and 1901, ruled by the independentists during the American-Filipino war.
Sun Yat-sen, a Ponce's friend, was a fervent ally of this movement of emancipation of the Filipino people against the American occupier, especially by favoring the purchase of weapons.
