"Architect Alexandru Bernardazzi's 190th birth anniversary" prepaid envelope from Moldova

Enveloppe pré-timbrée "190 ans de la naissance de l'architecte Alexandru Bernardazzi" de Moldavie

Alexandru Bernardazzi (1831-1907) est la plus remarquable figure dans l'histoire de l'architecture moldave. Il fut pendant une vingtaine d'années (entre 1856 et 1878) l'architecte en chef de la ville de Chişinău et l'aspect présent de la capitale moldave, de son centre historique en particulier, conserve beaucoup de bijoux architecturaux créés par ce grand architecte, d'origine suisse italienne.
Après 1878, il fut l'architecte de la ville ukrainienne d'Odessa.
Une trentaine d'édifices importants de la ville de Chişinău, y compris l'église grecque St. Pantelemon, le siège de l'assemblée municipale, le gymnase pour filles Dadiani, actuel siège du Musée National des Beaux-Arts, la nouvelle église arménienne, le grandiose château d’eau, devenu après la reconstruction le Musée d'histoire de la ville, le siège de l'ancien tribunal du district, actuel siège de l'administration des chemins de fer, furent construits suivant des plans élaborés par Bernardazzi. 
Alexandru Bernardazzi (1831-1907) is the most remarkable figure in the history of Moldovan architecture. He was for twenty years (between 1856 and 1878) the chief architect of the city of Chişinău and the present aspect of the Moldovan capital, of its historic center in particular, preserves many architectural jewels created by this great architect, of Swiss Italian origin.
After 1878 he was the architect of the Ukrainian city of Odessa.
About thirty important buildings in the city of Chişinău, including the St. Pantelemon Greek Church, the seat of the municipal assembly, the Dadiani girls' gymnasium, current seat of the National Museum of Fine Arts, the new Armenian church, the grandiose water tower, which after the reconstruction became the city's Historical Museum, the seat of the old district court, current seat of the railway administration, were built according to plans drawn up by Bernardazzi.

Le 2 juillet 2021, la poste moldave a mis en circulation une élégante enveloppe pré-timbrée (conception : Eugen Verebceanu, tirage : 1500) consacrée au 190ème anniversaire (jour pour jour) de la naissance d'Alexandru Bernardazzi.
Un grand merci Nicolae pour l'envoi de cette enveloppe le premier jour d'émission avec TAD de Chișinău (MD-2012) !
L'illustration à gauche sur cette enveloppe représente certains des édifices construits par l'architecte à Chişinău : le château d'eau, l'église St. Pantelemon ou l'entrée de l'hôtel de ville.

Alexandru Bernardazzi, of Russian nationality, has also worked a lot on the development of the "Stephen the Great" public garden located in the center of Chişinău.

On July 2, 2021, the Post of Moldova put into circulation an elegant prepaid envelope (design: Eugen Verebceanu, print run: 1,500) dedicated to the 190th anniversary (day to day) of the birth of Alexandru Bernardazzi.

The illustration on the left on this envelope shows some of the buildings designed by the architect in Chişinău: the water tower, St. Pantelemon church or the entrance to the town hall.

Le timbre à gauche (5,75 L) fait partie d'une série (4 timbres) émise le 29 juillet 2017, consacrée à différentes espèces de chauves-souris figurant dans le Livre Rouge de la République de Moldavie ("Cartea Roșie a Republicii Moldova"). L'espèce représentée est une grande noctule (Nyctalus lasiopterus), la plus grande espèce de chauve-souris vivant en Europe mais aussi l'une des moins observées.
L'autre timbre (5,75 L) a été émis le 10 mars 2017 à l'occasion de l'Année internationale du tourisme durable pour le développement. Ce timbre évoque des sites touristiques de Moldavie comme la forteresse de Soroca, l'établissement viticole Purcari et le site archéologique d'Orheiul Vechi.

Nicolae completed his postage, to reach the rate in force for a priority shipment up to 20g to France (11 L currently) with 2 other stamps used on the other side of this envelope above.

The stamp on the left (5.75 L) is part of a series (4 stamps) issued on July 29, 2017, dedicated to different species of bats inscribed in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova ("Cartea Roșie a Republicii Moldova"). The species depicted is a greater noctule bat (Nyctalus lasiopterus), the largest species of bat living in Europe but also one of the least observed.

The other stamp (5.75 L) was issued on March 10, 2017, on the occasion of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. This stamp features some tourist landmarks in Moldova such as the Soroca fortress, the Purcari wine-growing establishment and the archaeological site of Orheiul Vechi.
