Les relations diplomatiques entre la Fédération de Russie et la République d'Arménie ont été établies le 3 avril 1992. Les deux pays sont liés par un partenariat allié. Plus de 200 traités et accords interétatiques, intergouvernementaux et interministériels ont été signés. Traditionnellement, une place importante dans les relations russo-arméniennes revient aux contacts culturels et humanitaires.
Mais les relations historiques remontent au début du 19ème siècle, lorsque l'Empire russe s'est présenté en tant qu'état protecteur des chrétiens sous domination ottomane. À la suite de la dissolution de l'URSS, l'Arménie est considérée comme le principal allié de la Russie dans le Caucase du Sud.
Les relations bilatérales sont ainsi étroites notamment dans le but de pallier le désavantage géopolitique de l'enclavement arménien par des voisins hostiles (Turquie, Azerbaïdjan).  
Le 30 août 2022, les administrations postales de Russie et d'Arménie ont mis en circulation une série commune (2 timbres), ayant pour thème l'architecture religieuse, à l'occasion du 30ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques. 
Diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia were established on April 3, 1992. The two countries are bound by an ally partnership. More than 200 inter-state, intergovernmental and inter-ministerial treaties and agreements have been signed. Traditionally, an important place in Russian-Armenian relations belongs to cultural and humanitarian contacts.
But historical relations date back to the beginning of the 19th century, when the Russian Empire presented itself as a protective state of Christians under Ottoman rule. Following the dissolution of the USSR, Armenia is considered Russia's main ally in the South Caucasus.
Bilateral relations are thus close, particularly with the aim of overcoming the geopolitical disadvantage of the Armenian enclavement by hostile neighbors (Turkey, Azerbaijan).
On August 30, 2022, the postal administrations of Russia and Armenia put into circulation a joint series (2 stamps), with the theme of religious architecture, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of these diplomatic relations.

 

La version russe de cette série (conception : I. Uliyanovskiy) a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le 7 septembre 2022 depuis la ville de Saint-Petersbourg. Merci beaucoup Youri !
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant (70 roubles, tirage : 80000 chacun) ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 4 paires, avec marges mentionnant cette émission commune et son thème (Architecture) en russe et arménien.
Ces 2 timbres sont consacrés à l'église de la Nativité de la Bienheureuse Vierge Marie à Vanadzor (Arménie) et à l'église de la Sainte Croix à Samara (Russie).
L'église de la Sainte Croix est une église apostolique arménienne dont la construction à débuté à Samara en 1998, avec la bénédiction du chef du diocèse russo-arménien, et s'est achevée en 2003.
L'église orthodoxe russe de Vanadzor construite en 1893, est située dans le centre-ville. Vanadzor avait à l'époque une grande communauté russe qui fréquentait l'église tous les dimanches.
A noter que la version arménienne de cette série illustre des édifices religieux différents, l'église Sainte-Catherine à Saint-Pétersbourg et l'église Saint-Michel l'Archange à Gyumri.

These two se-tenant stamps (70 rubles, print run: 80,000 each) have been printed in the same sheetlet composed of 4 pairs, with margins mentioning this joint issue and its theme (Architecture) in Russian and Armenian.

These two stamps are dedicated to the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Vanadzor (Armenia) and the Church of the Holy Cross in Samara (Russia).

The Church of the Holy Cross is an Armenian apostolic church whose construction began in Samara in 1998, with the blessing of the head of the Russian-Armenian diocese, and was completed in 2003. Vanadzor Russian Orthodox Church built in 1893, is located in the city center. Vanadzor at the time had a large Russian community that attended church every Sunday.

To note that the Armenian version of this series illustrates different religious buildings, Saint Catherine's Church in Saint Petersburg and Saint Michael the Archangel's Church in Gyumri.
