La plupart des administrations postales européennes ont déjà émis leurs séries EUROPA, comme l'Autriche qui a émis, le 5 juin 2009, un timbre unique à 65c.

Il représente le nanosatellite autrichien faisant partie du projet spatial "Brite-Austria / Tugsat-1". Ce programme spatial autrichien est développé en collaboration avec plusieurs universités autrichiennes (dont l'université de technologie de Graz) et l'université de Toronto.

It depicts the Austrian nanosatellite, part of the "Brite-Austria / Tugsat-1" space project. This Austrian Space Program was developed in collaboration with several Austrian universities (including the Graz University of Technology) and the University of Toronto.

Ce 1er satellite autrichien de forme cubique a une taille de 20 x 20 x 20 cm et ne pèse que 6,5 kg. L'instrument utilisé est une caméra optique CDD de haute résolution.
Le centre de contrôle de la mission est situé à Graz et d'autres stations de contrôle au sol (Toronto, Vienne) seront aussi exploitées. La conception de ce système a débuté en avril 2008 et a été suivie par les études de possibilités de lancement et de développement des opérations au sol et des logiciels. Le lancement du nanosatelitte est prévu pour le deuxième trimestre de 2009. Il sera mis en orbite à une altitude de 800 km.

This first Austrian satellite, cubic-shaped, has a size of 20 x 20 x 20 cm and weighs only 6.5 kg. The instrument used is an optical camera with a high-resolution CCD.
The mission control center is located in Graz and other ground control stations (Toronto, Vienna) will be exploited. The conception of this system began in April 2008 and was followed by studies of launch opportunities and the development of the ground operations and science software.
The launch of this nanosatelitte is scheduled for the second quarter of 2009. It will be in orbit at an altitude of 800 km.

Ce timbre, émis le 28 mai 2009, doit sans doute évoquer la place de l'homme dans l'univers avec cette représentation inspirée de l'Homme de Vitruve, dessiné par Léonard de Vinci vers 1487, au milieu d'un ciel étoilé ??
Entouré par ces 12 étoiles, l'illustration centrale de ce timbre me rappelle la pièce d'1€ italienne...
Dans le cadre de cette Année mondiale de l'astronomie, de très nombreuses manifestations ont lieu dans près de 140 pays afin de stimuler l'intérêt du public, particulièrement parmi les jeunes, pour l'astronomie et la science. En Slovaquie, ces manifestations sont coordonnées par l'Institut d'astronomie de l'académie des sciences slovaque, situé à Tatranská Lomnica.
The Slovak Post has also issued a single EUROPA stamp (90c). This stamp, issued in minisheet of eight stamps, is included on the cover above, mailed on 8th of June 2009 from Trnava.

As part of this International Year of Astronomy, many events take place in almost 140 countries to stimulate public interest, particularly among young people, for astronomy and science. In Slovakia, these events are coordinated by the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, located in Tatranská Lomnica.
