La poste argentine a émis un bloc-feuillet très explicite dans le cadre de la campagne philatélique de sensibilisation internationale aux effets du réchauffement et des changements climatiques.
Ce bloc, composé de deux timbres à 10 pesos, émis le 7 mars 2009, figure sur le joli FDC officiel ci-dessous. Tirage total : 100000 exemplaires.

L'emblème de cette campagne, un cristal de glace stylisé, figure bien sûr dans la marge à gauche du bloc ainsi que plus discrètement sur les 2 timbres. Il figure enfin au centre de l'oblitération "1er jour".
La partie gauche du bloc est consacrée à la protection de l'environnement et à la prévention contre le réchauffement climatique. Les gestes à éviter figurent sur fond rouge (utilisation d'énergies fossiles et non renouvelables, d'aérosols, non recyclage de piles...) et ceux à adopter sur fond bleu (utilisation de biocarburants et d'énergies renouvelables, de produits recyclés...).
The Post of Argentina has issued a very explicit souvenir sheet as part of the International Philatelic awareness campaign about effects of global warming and climate change.
This sheet, consisting of two stamps (10 Pesos each), issued on 7th of March 2009, is included on the beautiful official FDC below. Total print run : 100,000 copies.

The insignia of this campaign, a stylized ice crystal, is of course included in the left margin of the sheet and also more discreetly on the two stamps. It is finally depicted at the center of the FDC cancellation.
The left part of the sheet is devoted to environment preservation as well as global warming prevention. Situations having to be avoided are depicted on red background (use of fossil and nonrenewable fuels, spray cans, non-recycling batteries...) and those to be adopted on a blue background (use of bio fuels and renewable energy, recycled waste materials...).
Le thermomètre évoque les hausses de températures relevées ces dernières années, menaçant en particulier les régions polaires et les glaciers.La partie supérieure du bloc reproduit une carte de l'Argentine et la localisation du glacier Piedras Blancas (province de Santa Cruz) représenté sur le timbre du haut (photographie datant de 2005).
Ce timbre me rappelle le timbre suisse émis dans le cadre de cette même campagne puisqu'il comporte une ligne rouge permettant de montrer la fonte de ce glacier depuis 1932...
La partie inférieure du bloc est consacré à la région antarctique argentine avec la localisation de la barrière de glace Larsen située en mer de Weddell (nord-est de la péninsule antarctique), évoquée sur l'autre timbre.
A partir d'une image satellite de 1986, ce timbre évoque également la fonte de cette banquise entre 1986 et 2008.
Ce bloc très réussi a le grand mérite de nous montrer les effets concrets et inquiétants du réchauffement climatique sur notre planète !
The thermometer evokes increases in temperature observed in recent years, threatening in particular the polar regions and glaciers.
The upper part of the sheet reproduces a map of Argentina and the location of the Piedras Blancas glacier (Province of Santa Cruz) represented on the stamp at the top (photograph dating from 2005).
This stamp reminds me of the Swiss stamp issued as part of this same campaign as it includes a red line in order to show the glacier retreat havinf taken place since 1932...
The lower part of the sheet is devoted to the Argentine Antarctic region with the location of the Larsen ice shelf on Weddell Sea (north-east of the Antarctic Peninsula), evoked on the other stamp.
From a satellite image dated 1986, this stamp is also evoking the melting of this icefield between 1986 and 2008.
This very successful minisheet has the great merit of showing us the concrete and alarming effects of global warming on our planet !
