Le 1er février 2014, l'année du serpent d'eau laissera la place à l'année du cheval de bois d'après l'astrologie chinoise.
Comme de coutume, la Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a été une des premières administrations postales à émettre, le 2 décembre 2013 (année 102 sur l'île) une série (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) consacrée à cette nouvelle année du cheval.
C'est le bloc-feuillet (12 NT$) qui figure sur le pli Premier Jour (conception : Tseng Kai-chih) ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup George :-)
On February 1, 2014, the Year of Water Snake will give way to the Year of Wood Horse according to the Chinese Zodiac.
As usual, the Chunghwa Post of Taiwan was one of the first postal administrations to issue, on December 2, 2013 (the year 102 on the island) a series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) devoted to this new year of the horse.
It is the souvenir sheet (NT $ 12) that appears on the first day cover (design : Tseng Kai-chih) below. Thank you very much George :-)
Des chevaux vigoureux et au galop, sur fond jaune pastel, ont été représentés sur cette série, annonçant une nouvelle année vive, festive et de bon augure...
Ces 2 chevaux ci-dessus, galopant au milieu de nuages de bon augure, symbolisent ainsi le fait que "tout va bien" d'après la poste taïwanaise.
D'après l'horoscope chinois, les natifs du cheval seraient surs d'eux, inventifs, sympathiques, habiles, intelligents et réussissant souvent ce qu'ils entreprennent, en étant parfois prêts à tout pour parvenir à leurs fins...
Some vigorous horses and galloping, on a pastel yellow background, have been featured on this series, symbolizing the youthful vitality of this festive and auspicious Year of the Horse to come...
These two horses above, galloping in the middle of auspicious clouds, symbolize the fact that "all is going smoothly" according to the Taiwanese Post.
According to the Chinese horoscope, horse's natives would be self-assured, creative, friendly, clever, intelligent and often succeeding what they undertake, being sometimes willing to do anything to achieve their goal...
La poste de Taïwan avait déjà émis des timbres consacrés à cette année du cheval lors de cycles précédents.
Comme par exemple les 2 timbres utilisés sur cette jolie lettre ci-dessus, émis le 1er décembre 1989 pour annoncer l'année du cheval en 1990. Merci beaucoup Wei Yi pour ce pli posté le 18 décembre 2013 de la ville de Kaohsiung :-)
Wei Yi a également utilisé un timbre de distributeur émis le 18 octobre 2013 évoquant l'année du serpent, intitulé "serpent spirituel". Ce timbre (valeur : 2 NT$, code machine : 127) a été imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printing dans 900 rouleaux au total (composés chacun de 1000 timbres).
A noter enfin sur cette lettre ce cachet touristique spécial rose évoquant l'ancien consulat britannique de Takao, construit en briques rouges en 1865 sur les hauteurs de Kaohsiung.
Cet édifice, important site touristique aujourd'hui, est le plus ancien édifice en bon état de conservation construit par les occidentaux sur l'île.
The Post of Taiwan had already issued stamps devoted to that Year of the Horse for the previous cycles.
Eg the two stamps used on this nice cover above, issued on December 1, 1989 to announce the Year of the Horse in 1990. Thank you very much Wei Yi for this letter mailed on December 18, 2013 from the city of Kaohsiung :-)
Wei Yi also used an ATM stamp issued on October 18, 2013 referring to the Year of the Snake, called "spiritual snake". That stamp (NT $ 2.00, machine code : 127) was printed in France by Cartor Security Printing in 900 rolls in total (each composed of 1,000 ATM stamps).
Finally, to note on this letter the special tourist pink cachet evoking the Former British Consulate at Takao, built in red brick in 1865 on the heights of Kaohsiung.
This building, a major tourist attraction today, is the most antique western building preserved in Taiwan.
