Le 29 novembre 2013, la poste slovaque a émis sa traditionnelle série "Arts" composée de 2 timbres évoquant cette année des oeuvres du photographe Martin Martinček (à l'occasion des 100 ans de sa naissance) et du peintre Jean Jacques Stunder.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les 2 plis ci-dessous, postés le 27 décembre 2013 de la ville de Trnava, affranchis chacun avec les timbres de cette série "Arts". Merci beaucoup Robert :-)
Ces 2 timbres gravés (tirage : 80000 chacun) ont été émis chacun en feuillet de 4 timbres, avec une marge illustrée pour le timbre concernant Martin Martinček.
On November 29, 2013, the Slovak Post issued its traditional "Art" séries consisting of two stamps this year featuring some works by photographer Martin Martinček (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth) and by painter Jean Jacques Stunder.
I was lucky to receive the two covers below, posted on December 27, 2013 in the city of Trnava, each franked with the stamps of this "Art" stamp set. Thank you very much Robert :-)
These two engraved stamps (print run : 80,000 each) were each issued in sheet of 4 stamps, with an illustrated margin for the Martin Martinček's stamp.
Le 1er timbre ci-dessus (1,20€, gravure : Rudolf Cigánik) représente une photographie de Martin Martinček intitulée "Après la traite", datant de 1964, conservée à la galerie nationale slovaque de Bratislava.
Martinček (1913-2004) est considéré comme une des plus grandes figures de la photographie du 20ème siècle en Slovaquie.
Malgré une formation d'avocat puis de juge dans les années 1930, il fut le président du comité du conseil national de la république slovaque après la 2ème guerre mondiale.
Il fut ensuite injustement forcé de quitter Bratislava en 1951, avec sa femme, la peintre Ester Fridrichová-Martinčeková, et s'installa dans sa région natale de Liptov (nord du pays).
A partir des années 1960, il créa un "dictionnaire des beaux-arts de la région de Liptov" à partir de photographies d'habitants et de paysages de cette région (comme celle reproduite sur ce timbre).
The first stamp above (€ 1.20, engraving by Rudolf Cigánik) shows a photograph by Martin Martinček entitled "After milking", dating from 1964, kept at the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava.
Martinček (1913-2004) is considered as one of the greatest figures of 20th century photography in Slovakia.
After having worked as an advocate and later as a judge in the 1930s, he was the chairman of the Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic after the 2nd World War.
He was then unjustly forced to leave Bratislava in 1951, with his wife, painter Ester Fridrichová-Martinčeková, and settled in his native region of Liptov (northern Slovakia).
From the years 1960s, he created a "Fine art dictionary of Liptov region country" from photographs of people and landscapes of this region (such as the one shown on that stamp).
Le 2ème timbre de cette série ci-dessus (1,25€, gravure : František Horniak) reproduit une oeuvre du peintre danois Ján Jakub Stunder (1759-1811) le montrant en train d'exécuter un portrait du comte Jan Joseph Hadik de Futak (1755-1833), conservée également à la galerie nationale slovaque de Bratislava.
Stunder, représentant de l'école du classicisme à l'époque des Lumières, a étudié à l'académie royale des beaux-arts de Copenhague puis vint s'installer dans le royaume de Hongrie (à Levoča en particulier) à partir de 1793 à l'invitation de l'homme de lettres Ferenc Kazinczy.
Stunder a peint surtout des oeuvres pour des autels d'églises et des portraits comme celui reproduit sur ce timbre.
The second stamp of this series above (€ 1.25, engraving by František Horniak) reproduces a work of Danish painter Ján Jakub Stunder (1759-1811) showing him executing a portrait of Count Jan Joseph Hadik of Futak (1755-1833), also kept at the Slovak national Gallery in Bratislava.
Stunder, a representative of the European Enlightenment and classicism, studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and came to settle in the Kingdom of Hungary (in Levoča in particular) from 1793 at the invitation of the author Ferenc Kazinczy.
Stunder mainly painted altar pictures and portraits such as the one reproduced on that stamp.
