Un grand merci Ersel pour cet intéressant FDC officiel de Turquie concernant ce timbre commun Turquie-République turque de Chypre du Nord (KKTC) émis le 17 octobre 2016, consacré à la mise en service en 2015 du projet d'approvisionnement en eau entre ces 2 territoires !
La version turque de ce timbre ci-dessous (1,60 TL), de très grande taille et sans dentelure, a été imprimée à 100000 exemplaires (seulement 4000 pour le timbre de Chypre du Nord, valeur : 4 TL).
Ce projet d'approvisionnement en eau ("Su Temin Projesi" en turc) a été conçu pour fournir de l'eau potable et d'irrigation entre le sud de la Turquie et le nord de la République turque de Chypre du Nord via un pipeline sous la mer Méditerranée (107 km de long).
Ce projet de transfert d'eau via pipeline entre 2 pays (prévu pour une durée de 50 ans) est considéré comme unique au monde.

The Turkish version of this stamp below (1.60 TL), very large and without any perforation, has been printed in 100,000 copies (only 4,000 for the stamp from Northern Cyprus, value: 4 TL).
This water supply project ("Su Temin Projesi" in Turkish) was created to provide potable and irrigation water between southern Turkey and the northern part of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus via a 107 km-long pipeline under the Mediterranean Sea.
This water transfer project via pipeline between two countries (planned for a period of 50 years) is considered to be unique in the world.
Ce projet à consisté en la construction d'un barrage et d'une station de pompage de part et d'autre ainsi que d'un pipeline passant principalement sous la mer.
Ce timbre commun représente une vue satellite de la Turquie et de l'île de Chypre, reliés symboliquement par ce pipeline constitué d'eau et des drapeaux des 2 territoires.
A chaque extrémité de ce pipeline est mentionnée le barrage qui a été construit spécialement pour ce projet, le barrage Alaköprü en Turquie (construit entre 2010 et 2014) et le barrage Geçitköy à Chypre du Nord (construit entre 2012 et 2014).
Des photographies de ces 2 barrages sont reproduites à gauche sur ce FDC, avec un TAD de la ville turque de Mersin, le barrage Alaköprü étant situé dans la province de Mersin.
This project consisted in the construction of a dam and a pumping station on both sides as well as a pipeline passing mainly under the sea.
This joint stamp is featuring a satellite view of Turkey and the island of Cyprus, symbolically linked by this pipeline made up of water and flags of the two territories.
At each end of this pipeline is mentioned the dam which was built specially for this project, Alaköprü dam in Turkey (built between 2010 and 2014) and Geçitköy dam in Northern Cyprus (built between 2012 and 2014).
Photographs of these two dams are reproduced on the left on this FDC, with postmarks from the Turkish city of Mersin, the Alaköprü dam being located in the Mersin Province.
