EUROPA 2021 (Endangered National Wildlife) stamp set on cover from Lithuania

Série EUROPA 2021 (Faune en voie de disparition) sur lettre de Lituanie

Le 23 avril 2021, la poste lituanienne "Lietuvos paštas" a mis en circulation 2 timbres EUROPA ayant pour thème la faune nationale en voie de disparition ("Nykstanti nacionalinė laukinė gamta" en lituanien) cette année.
Ces 2 timbres (0,75€, tirage : 22000 chacun), conçus par L. Aleknavičiūtė et imprimés chacun en feuillet de 10 timbres, figurent sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 22 septembre 2021 depuis la ville de Tauragė (centre-ouest du pays). Merci beaucoup Jürgen et Tomas ! 
Pour illustrer cette thématique, la poste lituanienne a choisi 2 espèces animales figurant dans le Livre rouge lituanien des animaux particulièrement en danger dans le pays, le lynx boréal et le phoque gris.
Le phoque gris (Halichoerus grypus), inscrit dans le Livre rouge lituanien depuis 1989, est une espèce vivant en particulier dans la mer Baltique. Les filets des pêcheurs industriels constituent une grande menace pour cette espèce de phoque. 
On April 23, 2021, the Lithuanian Post "Lietuvos paštas" issued two EUROPA stamps with the theme of endangered national wildlife ("Nykstanti nacionalinė laukinė gamta" in Lithuanian) this year.
These two stamps (€ 0.75, print run: 22,000 each), designed by L. Aleknavičiūtė and each printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, have been used on the cover below sent on September 22, 2021 from the city of Tauragė (center-west of the country). Thank you very much Jürgen and Tomas!
To illustrate this theme, the Lithuanian Post chose two animal species appearing in the Lithuanian Red Book of Animals particularly endangered in the country, the Eurasian lynx and the gray seal.
The gray seal (Halichoerus grypus), listed in the Lithuanian Red Book since 1989, is a species living in particular in the Baltic Sea. The nets of industrial fishermen pose a great threat to this species of seal.

 

Dans les années 1930, il y avait environ 20000 phoques gris, contre actuellement 10 à 50 phoques observés dans les eaux lituaniennes.
L'autre timbre est consacré au lynx boréal (Lynx lynx), un mammifère forestier inscrit dans le Livre rouge lituanien depuis 2000. Cette espèce est principalement menacée par la déforestation, les personnes visitant les forêts et le braconnage.

Actuellement, environ 30 à 40 animaux vivent dans les forêts lituaniennes, dans certains massifs forestiers comme Biržai, Karšuva, forêt de Žaliojja, Taujėnai - Užulėnis, Kuliai et district de Rokiškis.
A noter que cette espèce est représentée également sur des timbres EUROPA émis cette année par la Pologne, Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo), Croatie, Macédoine du Nord, Espagne et France.

In the 1930s, there were around 20,000 gray seals, compared to currently 10 to 50 seals seen in Lithuanian waters.

The other stamp is dedicated to the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx), a forest mammal listed in the Lithuanian Red Book since 2000. This species is mainly threatened by deforestation, people visiting forests and poaching.

Currently, around 30-40 animals live in Lithuanian forests, in some forest areas like Biržai, Karšuva, Žaliojja forest, Taujėnai - Užulėnis, Kuliai and Rokiškis district.

To note that this species is also featured on EUROPA stamps issued this year by Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina (Sarajevo), Croatia, North Macedonia, Spain and France.
