"80th anniversary of Operation Anthropoid" postmark on cover from Czech Republic

TAD "80ème anniversaire de l'Opération Anthropoid" sur lettre de Rép. tchèque

La poste tchèque a déjà commémoré (entier postal en 2012, oblitérations spéciales, bloc-feuillet en 2017...) à plusieurs reprises dans le passé cette Opération Anthropoid, un épisode marquant de l'histoire tchécoslovaque dans la résistance contre l'occupant Nazi pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale.
Anthropoid fut le nom de code d'une opération visant à assassiner le dirigeant nazi Reinhard Heydrich, le n° 2 des SS (l'un des principaux organisateurs de la "solution finale" contre les juifs) et protecteur de la Bohême-Moravie, pendant la seconde guerre mondiale.
Cette opération devait montrer à la communauté internationale que le peuple tchécoslovaque était contre l'occupation du pays par les nazis et supportait les efforts des alliés pour les vaincre.
Le 27 mai 1942, la voiture (Mercedes-Benz 320) de Heydrich fut attaquée par des membres tchèques du groupe Anthropoid, Jozef Gabčík et Jan Kubiš. Le pistolet mitrailleur de Gabčík s'enraya et Kubiš dut lancer une grenade qui tomba à côté de la voiture mais blessa toutefois Heydrich, qui mourut 8 jours plus tard. 
The Czech Post has already commemorated (postal stationery in 2012, special cancellations, souvenir sheet in 2017...) several times in the past this Operation Anthropoid, a striking episode of Czechoslovakian history in the resistance against the Nazi occupier during World War II.
Anthropoid was the code name for an operation aimed at assassinating the Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich (one of the main organizers of the "final solution" against the Jews), the SS # 2 and protector of Bohemia and Moravia during the Second World War.
The goal of this Operation was to show the international community that Czechoslovak people were against this Nazi occupation and  that they fully supported the efforts of the allies to defeat them.
On May 27, 1942, Heydrich's car (a Mercedes-Benz 320) was attacked by Czech members of the Anthropoid group, Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš. The Sten gun used by Gabčík jammed and a grenade was then tossed by Kubiš that fell off the car but nevertheless wounded Heydrich, who died eight days later.

 

Le 27 mai 2022, le bureau principal de Prague 1 a mis en circulation un TAD spécial (conception : Pavel Hrach) consacré au 80ème anniversaire de cette Opération Anthropoid, appliqué sur cette lettre. Merci beaucoup Slavek !
Ce TAD évoque le parachutage des 2 soldats tchécoslovaques, entraînés en Grande-Bretagne, sur le territoire du protectorat de Bohême-Moravie, afin de mener à bien cette Opération.
Réfugiés dans l'église orthodoxe Saints-Cyrille-et-Méthode de Prague, Gabčík et Kubiš furent tués par la Gestapo le 18 juin 1942.

Cette opération, le seul assassinat réussi d'un dignitaire nazi du IIIème Reich, eut néanmoins de terribles répercussions dans le pays avec en particulier, les 2 villages de Lidice et Ležáky qui furent rasés par les troupes Nazies en juin 1942 et leurs habitants exécutés ou déportés dans des camps de concentration...
Slavek a utilisé 3 timbres identiques (13 CZK) émis le 5 novembre 2014 pour commémorer 2 anniversaires : le 75ème anniversaire du 17 novembre 1939 (fermeture des universités par Hitler suite à une manifestation d'étudiants contre le régime Nazi) et le 25ème anniversaire de la Révolution de velours du 17 novembre 1989. 

On May 27, 2022, the main post office of Prague 1 put into circulation a special postmark (design: Pavel Hrach) dedicated to the 80th anniversary of this Operation Anthropoid, applied to this letter. Thank you very much Slavek!

This postmark evokes the parachuting of the two Czechoslovak soldiers, trained in Great Britain, on the territory of the protectorate of Bohemia-Moravia, in order to carry out this Operation.

Finding shelter in the Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and Methodius of Prague, Gabčík and Kubiš were killed by the Gestapo on June 18, 1942.

This Operation, the only successful assassination of a Nazi dignitary of the Third Reich, nevertheless had terrible repercussions in the country, particularly the two villages of Lidice and Ležáky which were razed by the Nazi troops in June 1942 and their inhabitants executed or deported to concentration camps ...

Slavek used 3 identical stamps (13 CZK) issued on November 5, 2014 to commemorate two anniversaries: the 75th anniversary of November 17th 1939 (closure of universities by Hitler after a student demonstration against the Nazi regime) and the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution of November 17th, 1989.
