Euromed Postal 2022 (Antique Cities of the Mediterranean) s/s on FDC from Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo)

On November 15, 2022, the Post of the BiH Federation of Sarajevo (BH Pošta) put into circulation, with more than 4 months late (these issues take place around July 11 each year), its first "Euromed Postal" issue devoted this year to the theme of Maritime Archeology or Antique Cities of the Mediterranean
After the "Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean" in 2021, the 14 participating postal administrations in 2022 have issued, for most of them, stamps dedicated to various ancient cities around the Mediterranean Sea.
As a reminder, the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, was created on March 11, 2011 and currently includes postal operators from 23 countries in the Mediterranean basin (also including Portugal and Mauritania).
BH Pošta became a member of this Postal Union for the Mediterranean on November 14, 2019.

This beautiful souvenir sheet (2.50 BAM, print run: 10,000), designed by Tamer Lučarević, is present on the official FDC above. Thank you very much Miro!
This souvenir sheet is dedicated to one of the mosaics discovered in a Roman villa, part of the "natural and architectural ensemble of Stolac" (south of the country), a property that Bosnia and Herzegovina would like to include in UNESCO World Heritage List.
In the southwestern part of Stolac, in the area known as Podgrad, excavations have revealed the remains of a Roman urban settlement which contained baths with buildings decorated with frescoes and mosaics. It seems that this was the location of the city of Diluntum, the center of the Illyrian tribe of the Daorsi.
Excavations carried out at the end of the 19th century confirmed that in terms of size, structure and importance, the settlement was surpassed only by Narona near the modern town of Metković in Croatia.

Seven very well preserved mosaics (3rd century AD) from this period have been found. Among the mosaics, there is an exceptional representation of a minotaur, portraits (like this woman's head here) as well as representations of a tiger, a leopard, a wild boar and an ibex.
These Stolac mosaics are on display at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
Miro sent me this FDC inside the envelope above, sent on December 1, 2022 from Sarajevo.
On the official FDC are also featured moulds used for the production of various figurines in bronze, silver and gold (4th and 3rd century BC), discovered on the archaeological site of Daorson, forming part of this same "natural and architectural ensemble of Stolac".
