Timbre Euromed Postal 2024 (Sports de Méditerranée) sur lettre de Croatie
Pour rappel, depuis 2014, certains pays membres (23 au total actuellement) de l'Union Postale pour la Méditerranée (PUMed), une
union restreinte de l'UPU, émettent chaque année des timbres "Euromed Postal" ayant un thème commun lié à la région méditerranéenne.
Après les festivals de la Méditerranée en 2023, les 14 administrations
postales
participantes ont émis en 2024 des timbres "Euromed Postal" différents consacrés au thème des sports de la Méditerranée ("Sportovi u mediteranskim zemljama" en croate).
Le 8 juillet 2024, la poste croate a mis en circulation un timbre Euromed Postal illustrant ce thème, en particulier le marathon de Ladja.
La poste croate participe à ces émissions Euromed Postal depuis 2015 (bateaux de la Méditerranée).
Ce nouveau timbre (1,80€, tirage : 25000), conçu par Dean Roksandić à partir d'une photographie de Zvonko Kežić, imprimé en feuille de 16 timbres, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée récemment depuis Rijeka. Merci beaucoup Dragan !
As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, have been issuing "Euromed Postal" stamps each year with a common theme related to the Mediterranean region.
After the Mediterranean festivals in 2023, the 14 participating postal administrations issued different "Euromed Postal" stamps in 2024 dedicated to the theme of Sports in the Mediterranean ("Sportovi u mediteranskim zemljama" in Croatian).
On July 8, 2024, the Croatian Post put into circulation a Euromed Postal stamp illustrating this theme, in particular the Ladja Marathon.
Croatian Post has been participating in these Euromed Postal issues since 2015 (Boats of the Mediterranean).
This new stamp (€1.80, print run: 25,000), designed by Dean Roksandić based on a photograph by Zvonko Kežić, printed in a sheet of 16 stamps, was used on the cover below recently sent from Rijeka. Many thanks Dragan!
Le marathon de Ladja est une compétition sportive amateur, une course de bateaux traditionnels autochtones de la vallée de la Neretva, appelés ladjas. Elle a lieu une fois par an, le deuxième samedi du mois d'août, sur un parcours de 22,5 km. Plus de 400 rameurs participent à la course à la rame sur la Neretva, entre les localités de Metković et Ploče.
Au fil des ans, le marathon de Ladja est devenu le plus grand événement sportif maritime de cette partie de l'Europe et il attire chaque année un nombre croissant de rameurs et de spectateurs.
Le premier marathon a eu lieu le 13 septembre 1998, dans le cadre de la commémoration du 7ème anniversaire de l'opération Zelena tabla - Mala bara de l'armée croate. Cette opération fut la première d'une série de batailles de casernes qui ont eu lieu en 1991 dans toute la Croatie dans le cadre de la guerre intérieure. Menée à Ploče et ses environs, cette bataille opposa les forces croates et l'Armée populaire yougoslave (JNA).
Le ladja de la rivière Neretva et son équipage sont devenus un patrimoine culturel immatériel de la République de Croatie.
The Ladja Marathon is an amateur sports competition, a race of traditional boats indigenous to the Neretva Valley, called ladjas. It takes place once a year, on the second Saturday of August, on a course of 22.5 km. More than 400 rowers take part in the rowing race on the Neretva River, between the towns of Metković and Ploče.
Over the years, the Ladja Marathon has become the largest maritime sporting event in this part of Europe and attracts an increasing number of rowers and spectators every year.
The first marathon took place on September 13, 1998, as part of the commemoration of the 7th anniversary of the Croatian Army's Operation Zelena tabla - Mala bara. This operation was the first in a series of barracks battles that took place in 1991 throughout Croatia as part of the Homeland War. Fought in and around Ploče, this battle pitted Croatian forces against the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA).
The Neretva River Ladja and its crew have become an intangible cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia.
