EUROPA 2005 (Gastronomy) stamp set on cover from San Marino

Merci beaucoup Salvatore!
As a reminder, the theme chosen by the association of European public postal operators PostEurop in 2005 was devoted to gastronomy with 59 postal administrations having taken part, some of them for the first time (Kazakhstan, Montenegro, etc.).
On April 25, 2005, the San Marino postal service issued an EUROPA series (consisting of 2 stamps) centered on this theme, specifically highlighting the tradition of producing bread and wine in the world’s smallest and oldest republic.
These two stamps (designed by Franco Filanci and Paolo Candelari; print run: 210,000), each printed in sheets of 20, have been used on the cover below, which was sent on September 9, 2026, from Dogana—the country’s most populous town, located on the northeastern border with Italy. Thank you very much, Salvatore!

The stamp on the left (€0.62) depicts a traditional wood-fired oven with glowing embers, accompanied by a basket filled with artisanal loaves fresh from the oven.
The official bread of the Republic of San Marino is the "Pane Terra di San Marino" *filone*—a protected, traditional loaf made with local ingredients, using flour exclusively from wheat grown and milled in San Marino.
The other stamp (€1.20) showcases a winemaking scene inside a cellar, featuring oak barrels and highlighting the local viticultural tradition.
Winemaking in San Marino has a historical tradition spanning nearly 2,000 years, heavily influenced by the neighboring *terroirs* of Emilia-Romagna and the Marche region.
All local production is overseen and protected by Cantina San Marino (Consorzio Vini Tipici), founded in 1979, which brings together around one hundred of the Republic's winegrowers. The bottles bear the official "Identificazione d'Origine" designation.
