"Resistance group Three Kings" stamp on Czech FDC

Timbre "Groupe de la Résistance des Trois Rois" sur FDC tchèque

Le 6 septembre 2017, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un timbre (16 CZK) consacré aux "Trois Rois", le nom d'un groupe de la Résistance anti-Nazi ("Odbojová skupina Tři králové") pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale.
C'est ce timbre (conception : Karel Zeman), incluant le portrait de ces "Trois Rois", Josef Balabán, Václav Morávek et Josef Mašín, qui figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 3500), avec TAD de Prague. Merci beaucoup Bret !
La gravure à gauche (par Jaroslav Tvrdoň) représente une composition avec 3 revolvers et l'emblème de l'armée tchécoslovaque au centre.
On September 6, 2017, the Czech Post issued a stamp (16 CZK) dedicated to the "Three Kings", the name of a group of the anti-Nazi Resistance ("Odbojová skupina Tři králové") during World War II.
It is that stamp (design: Karel Zeman), including the portrait of these "Three Kings", Josef Balabán, Václav Morávek and Josef Mašín, appearing on the official FDC below (print run: 3,500). Thank you very much Bret!
The engraving on the left (by Jaroslav Tvrdoň) represents a composition with 3 guns and the emblem of the Czechoslovak Army in the center.

Les "Trois Rois", le nom donné par la Gestapo à ce groupe du mouvement de Résistance nationale Tchèque, était composé du lieutenant-colonel Josef Balabán, du lieutenant-colonel Josef Mašín et du général de brigade Václav Morávek.
Formé peu de temps après l'occupation nazie de la Bohême et de la Moravie en mars 1939, ce groupe a permis de recueillir des informations de renseignement et a préparé et réalisé de nombreuses opérations de sabotage et de détournement.
Josef Balabán a été le premier des "Trois Rois" arrêtés par la Gestapo en avril 1941, puis interrogé et torturé, et exécuté le 3 octobre 1941.
Josef Mašín a été arrêté lors d'une transmission radio vers Londres le 13 mai 1941. Également torturé sans rien révéler lors d'interrogatoires, il est exécuté au champ de tir de Prague-Kobylisy le 30 juin 1942.
Václav Morávek a été gravement blessé lors d'une fusillade le 21 mars 1942 en tentant de libérer son collaborateur Václav Řehák. Il se serait suicidé ensuite (ou a été abattu par la Gestapo selon certaines sources).
The "Three Kings", the name given by the Gestapo to this group of the Czech National Resistance movement, was composed of Lieutenant-Colonel Josef Balabán, Lieutenant-Colonel Josef Mašín and Brigadier General Václav Morávek.
Formed shortly after the Nazi occupation of Bohemia and Moravia in March 1939, this group collected intelligence information and prepared and carried out sabotage and numerous diversion events.
Josef Balabán was the first of the "Three Kings" arrested by the Gestapo in April 1941, interrogated and tortured, and executed on October 3, 1941.
Josef Mašín was arrested during a radio transmission to London on May 13, 1941. He was also tortured without revealing anything during interrogations and was executed at the Prague-Kobylisy shooting range on June 30, 1942.
Václav Morávek was seriously wounded during a shoot-out on March 21, 1942 while attempting to free his collaborator Václav Řehák. He then either shot himself dead or, according to some other sources, was shot dead by Gestapo.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Armenia

Série EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) sur lettre d'Arménie

Le 1er décembre 2016, l'administration postale arménienne ("HayPost") a mis en circulation 2 timbres EUROPA (350 drams chacun) dont un conçu à partir du dessin commun (auteur : Doxia Sergidou / poste chypriote) choisi parmi 24 projets, suite à un concours organisé par PostEurop.
Pour rappel, le thème retenu pour cette année 2016 (coïncidant avec le 60ème anniversaire de l'émission des premiers timbres CEPT-EUROPA) était consacré à l'écologie en Europe avec en particulier ce slogan "Think Green".
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée en septembre 2017 (date illisible) depuis Erevan, la capitale (à noter cet imposant TAD bleu usuel), affranchie avec cette série EUROPA. Merci beaucoup Serg!
On December 1, 2016, the postal administration of Armenia (HayPost) put into circulation two EUROPA stamps (350 drams each), one of which having been designed from the joint drawing (author: Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) chosen among 24 projects, following a competition organized by PostEurop.
As a reminder, the theme chosen for this year 2016 (coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps) was devoted to Ecology in Europe, with the slogan "Think Green".
I was lucky enough to receive the nice letter below sent on September 2017 (unreadable date) from Yerevan, the capital (to note this imposing blue postmark as usual), franked with this EUROPA set. Thank you very much Serg!

Ces 2 timbres (tirage : 50000 chacun), imprimés en France par Cartor, ont été émis dans un même feuillet composé de 10 timbres (5 de chaque).
C'est le haut de ce feuillet, avec le logo "EUROPA" et la mention "Think Green" (en arménien) dans la marge, qui a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus.
Le 2ème timbre EUROPA (à gauche), conçu par Vahagn Mkrtchyan, évoque les effets de la pollution sur l'environnement et le dérèglement climatique avec ce paysage vert (arbre) transformé en paysage aride...
These two stamps (print run: 50,000 each), printed in France by Cartor, were issued in the same sheetlet of 10 stamps (5 of each).
The top part of this sheetlet, with the logo "EUROPA" and the mention "Think Green" (in Armenian) in the margin, was used on the letter above.
The 2nd EUROPA stamp (on the left), designed by Vahagn Mkrtchyan, is featuring the effects of pollution on the environment and climate change with this green landscape (tree) transformed into a barren landscape...

Euromed Postal 2017 joint stamp from Croatia: Trees in the Mediterranean

Émission commune Euromed Postal 2017 en Croatie : arbres de la Méditerranée

Pour illustrer le thème des "arbres de la Méditerranée" ("drveće Mediterana" en croate) choisi cette année pour les timbres communs "Euromed Postal", la poste croate a opté pour un des oliviers sauvages de réserve botanique de Lun, située à l'extrême nord de l'île de Pag, la 5ème plus grande île située sur le littoral croate.
En plus de sa dentelle, son vin ou ses fromages de brebis (Paški Sir), cette île de Pag est célèbre pour cette oliveraie unique composée de 80000 oliviers dont 1500 oliviers sauvages (Olea oleaster linea) poussant sur une aire de 24 hectares.
Ces oliviers, dont certains ont plus de 1500 ans, ont la particularité de pousser sur des sols rocailleux sans partie arable, ce qui est unique dans cette région de l'adriatique (d'autres oliviers sauvages du même type n'existent qu'en Israël et en Grèce).
To illustrate the theme of the "Trees in the Mediterranean" ("drveće Mediterana" in Croatian) chosen this year for the "Euromed Postal" joint stamps, the Croatian Post opted for one of the wild olive trees of the Lun botanical reserve, located far north of the island of Pag, the 5th largest island located on the Croatian coastline.
In addition to its lace, wine or sheep's cheeses (Paški Sir), this island of Pag is famous for this unique olive grove of 80,000 olive trees, including 1,500 wild olive trees (Olea oleaster linea) growing on an area of 24 hectares.
These olive trees, some of which are more than 1,500 years old, have the peculiarity of growing on a rocky terrain where there is almost no arable soil, which is unique in this region of the Adriatic (other wild olive trees of the same type exist only in Israel and Greece).

Ce site a été déclaré "réserve botanique" en 1963 et l'huile produite par ces oliviers est considérée comme une des meilleures de la région adriatique.
Sur ce timbre croate (5,80 HRK, tirage : 150000, conception : Nataša Odak) émis le 10 juillet 2017, on peut observer la forme "torturée" des troncs de ces oliviers sauvages de Lun ("lunske masline").

Ce timbre a été imprimé en feuille de 16 timbres, avec marge incluant le logo Euromed Postal (un oiseau stylisé avec la mention "Euromed Postal" également en arabe), présent également en haut à gauche sur ce timbre.
This site was declared a "botanical reserve" in 1963 and the oil produced by these olive trees is considered as one of the best in the Adriatic region.
On this Croatian stamp (5.80 HRK, print run: 150,000, design: Nataša Odak) issued on 10 July 2017, one can observe the "tortured" form of the trunks of these Lun wild olive trees ("lunske masline").

That stamp was printed in sheet of 16 stamps, with margin including the Euromed Postal logo (a stylized bird with the mention "Euromed Postal" also in Arabic), also present on the top left on this stamp. 

"National Day - Morning activities" m/s on FDC from Singapore

Dans le cadre des festivités de la Fête Nationale, célébrée chaque année le 4 août, la poste de Singapour a mis en circulation, le 4 août 2017, une intéressante série (6 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) consacrée à différentes activités matinales familières effectuées chaque jour par les habitants de l'île-état.
C'est ce bloc-feuillet (conception : Brett Antonio et Christian Hernandez de l'agence DNA Life Pte Ltd), composé d'un timbre à 2$, qui figure sur le joli FDC officiel ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Terence !
J'aime bien le TAD Premier Jour avec l'intitulé de cette série, "Morning in Singapore", ces 4 mains entrelacées (avec une forme centrale évoquant les contours géographiques du pays) et la mention NDP 2017 ("National Day Parade") faisant référence au défilé organisé chaque année pour cette Fête Nationale.
As part of the celebration of the National Day, taking place every year on August 4th, the Singapore Post has put into circulation, on August 4, 2017, an interesting series (6 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) devoted to various familiar morning activities by the inhabitants of the island-state.
It is this souvenir sheet (design: Brett Antonio and Christian Hernandez from the agency DNA Life Pte Ltd), consisting of a $ 2.00 stamp, which is present on the pretty official FDC below. Thank you very much Terence!
I like the First Day cancellation with the title of this series, "Morning in Singapore", these four interlaced hands (with a central shape evoking the geographical contours of the country) and the mention NDP 2017 (National Day Parade) referring to the parade organized each year for this National Day.

Je suppose que le cachet à gauche, en forme de réveil, avec mention du bureau postal de Tiong Bahru, était proposé au public entre le 4 et le 10 août 2017 ?
L'autre cachet ci-dessus, en forme de gâteau d'anniversaire (52 ans d'indépendance), est daté du 9 août 2017 (je suppose également qu'un cachet différent a été mis en circulation les 6 autres jours ?).
Ce bloc-feuillet illustre différentes scènes matinales comme des enfants arrivant à l'école, des gens qui prennent le bus, d'autres qui prennent leur petit-déjeuner dans un "hawker centre" typique, qui font du vélo sur le réseau PCN (park connector network), qui font des activités sportives ou des courses dans un "wet market", un marché de produits frais.
I suppose that the cachet on the left, looking like an alarm clock, with mention of the postal office of Tiong Bahru, was offered to the public from 4 to 10 August 2017?
The other cachet above, featuring a birthday cake (52 years of country's independence), is dated August 9, 2017 (I also assume that a different cachet was put into circulation the other 6 days?).
This souvenir sheet depicts different morning scenes such as children arriving at school, people catching the bus to work, breakfast at a hawker centre, cycling on the park connector network (PCN), exercising at a fitness corner and grocery shopping at a wet market.

Le même TAD Premier Jour est présent sur l'autre côté de cette enveloppe ci-dessus ainsi que 2 TADs classiques du 4 août 2017 (bureau postal de Punggol) et du 9 août 2017 (bureau postal d'Orchard).
A noter enfin que ce bloc-feuillet est original puisque la mention "SINGAPORE", en bas du timbre, est conçue à partir de lettres découpées dans le papier !
The same First Day cancellation is present on the other side of this envelope above as well as two standard postmarks of August 4, 2017 (Punggol post office) and August 9, 2017 (Orchard post office).
Finally, to note that this souvenir sheet is rather original since "SINGAPORE", at the bottom of the stamp, is die cut from the paper! 

"Sport 2017" stamp set on FDC from Moldova

Série "Sports 2017" sur FDC de Moldavie

Après les sports mécaniques en 2015, la poste moldave a mis en circulation, le 23 août 2017, une nouvelle série composée de 2 timbres, consacrée à 2 disciplines sportives, le tennis (9,50 L, tirage : 100000) et le volley-ball (1,75 L, tirage : 100000).
Conçus par Lilian Iațco, ces 2 timbres, imprimés chacun en feuillet de 10 timbres, figurent sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 400), avec TAD de Chișinău (MD-2012). Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
J'aime bien le graphisme de ces 2 timbres, avec ce filet au même niveau sur les 2 timbres, filet également présent sur le TAD.
After motorsports in 2015, the Post of Moldova has released a new series of two stamps on August 23, 2017, devoted to two sport disciplines, tennis (L 9.50, print run: 100,000) and volleyball (L 1.75, print run: 100,000).
Designed by Lilian Iaţco, these two stamps, each printed in sheetlet of 10 stamps, are present on the official FDC below (print run: 400), with postmark from Chişinău (MD-2012). Thank you very much Nicolae!
I like the design of these two stamps, with this net at the same level on the two stamps, a net also present on the FDC cancellation.

Je ne sais pas exactement pourquoi ces 2 disciplines sportives ont été choisies ? et pourquoi seuls des hommes sont représentés ?
Les 2 équipes masculines et féminines moldaves de volley-ball sont classées autour de la 100ème place mondiale, idem pour le classement ATP du meilleur joueur de tennis moldave actuel, Radu Albot.
Il est le premier joueur moldave à avoir participé à un tableau final d'un tournoi du Grand Chelem (US Open en 2014).
I do not know exactly why these two sports disciplines were chosen? and why only men are featured?
The two men and women Moldovan volleyball teams are ranked around the 100th place in the world, the same for the ATP ranking of the best current Moldovan tennis player, Radu Albot.
He is the first Moldovan player to have participated in the main draw of a Grand Slam Tournament (US Open in 2014).

EUROPA 2017 (Castles) stamp set on cover from Luxembourg

Série EUROPA 2017 (Châteaux) sur lettre du Luxembourg

Je ne connais pas la date exacte (fin juin/début juillet) mais la poste luxembourgeoise a dû retirer de la circulation sa série de timbres EUROPA, émise le 9 mai 2017, dont le thème cette année était consacré aux châteaux.
Ces 2 timbres, conçus par l'artiste anglais Ben Carter (réside au Luxembourg depuis 2004), ont en effet été imprimés (en Belgique par Bpost Stamps Factory à Malines) sans le nom du pays...
Il semble que, lors du procédé d'impression, le logo EUROPA était absent et, en le rajoutant sur les 2 timbres, la mention "Luxembourg" a disparu...
Ces 2 timbres restent toutefois valables pour les affranchissements, par exemple sur cette lettre envoyée le 31 août 2017, avec TAD spécial de Wiltz (nord-ouest du Grand-Duché) !
I do not know the exact date (end of June / beginning of July) but the Luxembourg Post had to withdraw from circulation its set of EUROPA stamps, issued on May 9, 2017, whose theme this year was devoted to castles.
These two stamps, designed by the English artist Ben Carter (residing in Luxembourg since 2004), have indeed been printed (in Belgium by Bpost Stamps Factory in Mechelen) without the name of the country...
It seems that during the printing process, the EUROPA logo was missing and, by adding it on the two stamps, the mention "Luxembourg" disappeared...
These two stamps, however, remain valid for postage, for example on this letter sent on August 31, 2017, with special postmarks from Wiltz (north-west of the Grand Duchy)!

Ces 2 timbres ne représentent pas vraiment des châteaux mais plutôt des manoirs construits par des familles de la bourgeoisie luxembourgeoise, à Beggen (0,70€) et Dommeldange (0,95€).
Construit en 1880, le château de Beggen est ravagé par un incendie en 1894 avant d'être reconstruit. Occupé par la Wehrmacht pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale, ce site sera ensuite utilisée par l'armée américaine avant de devenir l'ambassade d'URSS (de Russie aujourd'hui) en 1956.
Une autre ambassade, de la République Populaire de Chine, occupe depuis la fin des années 1970 le château de Dommeldange, construit à partir de 1777 (rénové et agrandi en 1869).
Le TAD ci-dessus commémore le 75ème anniversaire du début de la Grève Générale à Wiltz (le 31 août 1942), un des principaux actes de résistance du peuple luxembourgeois contre l'occupant allemand pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale, en particulier contre la volonté des autorités nazies d'instaurer le service militaire obligatoire.
21 luxembourgeois seront exécutés en représailles et un monument de la Grève "Streikdenkmal" (en forme de phare) sera érigé en 1956 à Wiltz, conçu par l'architecte Jean Wercollier et orné de sculptures de son frère, l'artiste Lucien Wercollier, dont celle figurant sur ce TAD.
These two stamps do not really represent castles but rather mansions built by families of the Luxembourg bourgeoisie, in Beggen (€ 0.70) and Dommeldange (€ 0.95).
Built in 1880, the castle of Beggen was ravaged by a fire in 1894 before being rebuilt. Occupied by the Wehrmacht during the Second World War, this site was later used by the US Army before becoming the USSR embassy (Russian embassy today) in 1956.
Another embassy, of the People's Republic of China, is located in the castle of Dommeldange, built in 1777 (renovated and enlarged in 1869) since the late 1970s.
The postmark above commemorates the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the General Strike in Wiltz (on August 31, 1942), one of the main acts of resistance by the Luxembourg people against the German occupation during the Second World War, in particular against the will of the Nazi authorities to establish compulsory military service.
21 Luxembourg people were executed in retaliation and a monument of the Strike "Streikdenkmal" (looking like a lighthouse) was erected in 1956 in Wiltz, designed by the architect Jean Wercollier and adorned with sculptures by his brother, Lucien Wercollier, including the one featured on this cancellation. 
 

"29th Summer Universiade in Taipei" m/s - FDC from Taiwan

Bloc-feuillet "29èmes universiades d'été à Taipei" - FDC de Taïwan

Après Gwangju (Corée du sud) en 2015 et avant Naples (Italie) en 2019, la ville de Taipei a organisé pour la 1ère fois de son histoire, du 19 au 30 août 2017, la 29ème édition des Universiades d'été.
Cette compétition internationale universitaire, sportive et culturelle, est organisée tous les 2 ans (depuis 1959) par la FISU (Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire).
La Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a mis en circulation, le 16 août 2017, une série de 8 timbres ainsi qu'un bloc-feuillet (conception : Highlight Creative Co., Ltd.) consacrés à cette compétition (près de 8000 athlètes venant de 143 pays, engagés dans 21 sports).
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir le joli pli Premier Jour ci-dessous concernant le bloc-feuillet (25 NT$), imprimé, comme la série de timbres, en France par Phil@poste (une première ?). Merci beaucoup George !
After Gwangju, South Korea in 2015 and before Naples, Italy in 2019, the city of Taipei organized for the first time in its history, from 19 to 30 August 2017, the 29th edition of the Summer Universiade.
This international sports and cultural competition is organized for university athletes every two years (since 1959) by the FISU (International University Sports Federation). 
On August 16, 2017, the Chunghwa Post of Taiwan issued a series of 8 stamps and a souvenir sheet (design: Highlight Creative Co., Ltd.) dedicated to this competition (nearly 8,000 athletes from 143 countries, engaged in 21 sports).
I was lucky enough to receive the nice First Day Cover below regarding the souvenir sheet (NT $ 25), printed, like the stamp series, in France by Phil@poste (is it a first?). Thank you very much George!

Le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet montre des pictogrammes évoquant 8 des sports dans lesquels les athlètes taïwanais (qui participaient sous la bannière de "Chinese Taipei") étaient engagés : haltérophilie, tir à l'arc, athlétisme, volley-ball, taekwondo, tennis de table, basket-ball et baseball.
A noter que ces pictogrammes ont été imprimés en relief et recouverts d'un vernis transparent, une encoche en forme de flamme étant incluse au milieu des dentelures verticales.
Le logo de cette Universiade (caractère chinois "Bei"), la mascotte Bravo (un ours noir de Formose) ainsi que certains des principaux monuments de Taipei (Mémorial Tchang Kaï-chek, Grande Roue, tour Taipei 101, Grand Hotel) sont présents dans la marge supérieure.
Podium 100% asiatique lors de cette Universiade avec un classement des médailles dominé par le Japon (101 médailles) devant la Corée du sud et Taïwan, la France ne terminant qu'à la 15ème place avec 17 médailles...
The stamp of this souvenir sheet is featuring pictograms evoking 8 of the sports in which the Taiwanese athletes (they participated under the banner of "Chinese Taipei") were engaged: weightlifting, archery, athletics, volleyball, taekwondo, table tennis, basketball and baseball.
To note that these pictograms have been printed with an embossement and covered with a transparent varnish, a flame-shaped notch being included in the middle of the vertical perforations.
The logo of this Universiade (Chinese character "Bei"), the mascot "Bravo" (a Formosan black bear) and some of the main landmarks of Taipei (Chiang Kai-shek Memorial, Big Wheel, Taipei 101, Grand Hotel) are present in the upper margin.
A 100% Asian podium at this Universiade with a medal ranking dominated by Japan (101 medals), South Korea and Taiwan, France only finishing 15th with 17 medals...

Splendide lettre tchèque avec nouveaux timbres émis le 6 septembre 2017

Un grand merci Bret pour cette nouvelle splendide lettre envoyée en recommandé (134 CZK) de Prague le 6 septembre 2017, premier jour d'émission de plusieurs séries de nouveaux timbres tchèques !
Parmi ces timbres, les 4 utilisés en haut à droite sur cette enveloppe évoquant respectivement le groupe de résistance contre les Nazis "Trois Rois" (Josef Balabán, Václav Morávek et Josef Mašín), le 170ème anniversaire de l'émission du célèbre "Post Office - Two Pence" bleu de Maurice et du 1er éclairage public au gaz à Prague, et le déploiement du réseau "Partenaire Postal" à travers le pays.
Ce réseau propose des services postaux implantés dans des commerces, en partenariat avec la poste tchèque.
A big thank you Bret for this splendid new letter sent by registered mail (134 CZK) from Prague on September 6, 2017, the first day of issue of several series of new Czech stamps!
Among these stamps, the four ones used in the top right-hand corner of this envelope, respectively referring to the "Three Kings" anti-Nazi resistance group (Josef Balabán, Václav Morávek and Josef Mašín), the 170th anniversary of the famous Blue "Post Office - Two Pence" stamp from Mauritius and of the first public street gas lighting in Prague, and deployment of the "Partner Post Office" network across the country.
This network offers postal services in shops (a third party other than Czech Post), in partnership with the Czech Post.

A noter également ce TAD spécial (conception : Libuše et Jaromír Knotek) mis en circulation ce 6 septembre 2017 par le bureau principal de Prague 1, consacré à ce même célèbre timbre "Post Office - Two Pence" bleu émis à Maurice en 1847.
Ce timbre y est représenté avec une carte de la République Tchèque dans le fond.

Bret also used above the two se-tenant stamps (32 CZK each) issued on May 17, 2017, reproducing a painting "St. Catherine with Angel" (1580, collections of Prague Castle) by Paolo Veronese (1528-1588). 
To note also the special postmark (design: Libuše and Jaromír Knotek) which was put into circulation on September 6, 2017 by the main post office of Prague 1, dedicated to the same famous "Post Office - Two Pence" stamp issued in Mauritius in 1847.
That stamp is depicted here with a map of Czech Republic in the background.

A l'occasion de la 20ème édition de la foire internationale "Sběratel" organisée à Prague du 8 au 9 septembre 2017, plusieurs souvenirs philatéliques spéciaux ont été émis, en particulier les 2 entiers postaux ci-dessus (tarif intérieur "A" - 16 CZK), émis le 6 septembre 2017, consacrés respectivement au 70ème anniversaire de l'acteur Arnold Schwarzenegger, avec une affiche du film "Terminator 2" (prix de vente : 21 CZK, tirage : 3700) et à l'exposition "Praga Piccola" réunissant de nombreux objets de collection uniques (prix de vente : 21 CZK, tirage : 3800).
Ce 2ème entier postal fait également référence à la 1ère exposition philatélique tchéco-allemande à Prague.
Pour rappel, Sběratel est considérée comme la plus importante rencontre de collectionneurs en Europe centrale et orientale (12000 visiteurs chaque année), consacrée bien sûr aux timbres mais aussi aux cartes postales, aux affiches, aux pièces de monnaie, aux cartes de téléphone, aux minerais...
On the occasion of the 20th edition of the international fair "Sběratel" held in Prague from September 8 to 9, 2017, several special philatelic souvenirs were issued, in particular the two prepaid cards above (domestic tariff "A" - 16 CZK), issued on September 6, 2017, dedicated respectively to the 70th birthday of the actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, with a poster of the film "Terminator 2" (selling price: 21 CZK, print run: 3,700) and to the exhibition "Praga Piccola" devoted to many unique collector's items (selling price: 21 CZK, print run: 3,800).

Le feuillet commémoratif ci-dessus à gauche (numéroté de 0157801 à 0159500, tirage : 1700, prix de vente : 40 CZK) a été mis en circulation le 14 juillet 2017 à l'occasion du 80ème anniversaire de la naissance (jour pour jour) à Prague de l'artiste peintre, illustrateur et créateur de timbres Adolf Absolon.
Le timbre (43 CZK), conçu par Adolf Absolon et gravé par Martin Srb, fait partie d'un bloc-feuillet émis le 2 septembre 2009, consacré à la région volcanique de "České středohoří".
L'autre feuillet ci-dessus à droite (numéroté 1147, tirage inconnu ?) évoque cette même exposition "Praga Piccola" organisée dans le cadre de la foire Sběratel 2017.
Il comporte une gravure du timbre courant tchécoslovaque émis en 1953, représentant une vue du Pont Charles (et la statue de sainte Lutgarde à gauche) avec le château de Prague dans le fond.

The commemorative sheet above on the left (numbered from 0157801 to 0159500, print run: 1,700, sale price: 40 CZK) was put into circulation on July 14, 2017 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth (to the day) in Prague of the painter, illustrator and creator of stamps Adolf Absolon.

Le dernier document ci-dessus (numéroté 5443) est le cadeau spécial conçu par la poste tchèque, destiné cette année aux membres de l'union des philatélistes tchèques (SČF - Svaz českých filatelistů).
La gravure correspond au timbre (38 CZK, gravé par Václav Fajt) émis le 9 novembre 2016 dans la série "Œuvres d'art sur timbres", une œuvre intitulée "Clown avec un singe" (1933, Galerie nationale de Prague) par le peintre et artiste graphique František Tichý (1896-1961) ici.
František Tichý est considéré comme une personnalité de premier plan parmi les artistes avant-gardistes tchèques des années 1940.
The last document above (numbered 5443) is the special gift designed by the Czech Post, intended this year for members of the Union of Czech Philatelists (SČF - Svaz českých filatelistů).

Le site bruxellois du Parlement européen a trouvé un bon moyen de se faire encore mieux connaître, en proposant aux visiteurs et employés d'envoyer gratuitement des cartes spéciales afin d'encourager le plus grand nombre à venir le visiter !

A noter cette empreinte de machine à affranchir (EMA) bleue incluant le logo du Parlement européen à gauche, la date au centre et à droite, l'emblème de la poste belge (bpost), la mention PB-PP (sûrement pour signifier "Port Payé" en français et néerlandais), un code "B-04617" (dont j'ignore la signification) ainsi que la mention Belgique en néerlandais, allemand et français.

"Traditional Kyrgyz Hunting - Part III" stamp set on cover from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Série "Chasse traditionnelle kirghize - 3ème partie" sur lettre du Kirghizstan (KEP)

Le 14 juillet 2017, la Kyrgyz Express Post a mis en circulation la 3ème et dernière partie (3 timbres) de sa jolie série débutée en 2015, consacrée à la chasse traditionnelle kirghize appelée Salbuurun et en particulier aux différentes techniques employées depuis des siècles.
Après une 1ère série consacrée à la fauconnerie et une 2ème série à la chasse avec des lévriers Taïgan ("Kyrgyzdyn Taighany"), cette 3ème série évoque ces 2 même techniques ainsi que la chasse à l'arc.
Ces 3 timbres ont été utilisés pour affranchir la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée de Bichkek le 8 août 2017.
Comme en 2015 et 2016, ces 3 splendides timbres au format panoramique ont été conçus par l'artiste moldave Vladimir Melnic et imprimés par Nova Imprim (Moldavie).
On July 14, 2017, the Kyrgyz Express Post released the 3rd and last part (3 stamps) of its beautiful series begun in 2015, dedicated to the traditional Kyrgyz hunting called Salbuurun and in particular the different techniques used for centuries.
After a first series devoted to falconry and a 2nd one to the hunting involving Taigan dogs ("Kyrgyzdyn Taighany"), this 3rd series evokes these two same techniques as well as archery.
These 3 stamps were used to frank the nice letter below sent from Bishkek on August 8, 2017.
As in 2015 and 2016, these 3 beautiful panoramic stamps were designed by Moldovan artist Vladimir Melnic and printed by Nova Imprim, Moldova.

Ces 3 timbres représentent respectivement un archer à cheval (50 KGS) avec son chapeau traditionnel (kalpak), un chasseur à cheval et son oiseau de proie (75 KGS) et un lévrier Taïgan poursuivant un renard (100 KGS).
These 3 stamps are respectively featuring an equestrian rider shooting an arrow (50 KGS) with his traditional Kalpak hat, a horseman, letting out a hunting bird (75 KGS) and a Taigan dog pursuing a fox (100 KGS).

J'ai également eu la chance de recevoir le très joli FDC officiel ci-dessus (tirage : 400) concernant cette même série, avec son TAD Premier Jour également conçu par Vladimir Melnic.
J'aime bien ce TAD avec cet archer à cheval stylisé (inspiré de pétroglyphes d'un des nombreux sites archéologiques du Kirghizstan ?).
I was also lucky enough to receive the very nice official FDC above (print run: 400) concerning this same series, with its FDC cancellation also designed by Vladimir Melnic.
I like this postmark with this stylized horseback archer (maybe inspired by petroglyphs of one of the many archaeological sites of Kyrgyzstan?).

Ces 3 timbres ont été émis chacun dans les feuillets composés de 4 timbres ci-dessus (tirage : 1500 feuillets chacun).
Les 3 timbres ont également été imprimés dans le même très joli bloc-feuillet ci-dessous (tirage : 3000 exemplaires).
A noter l'intéressante marge à gauche rappelant que ces techniques de chasse traditionnelles sont également pratiquées par les femmes !

Après Singapour et la Malaisie, je suis heureux de partager avec vous cette nouvelle lettre affranchie avec 6 exemplaires du timbre "50ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN" émis cette fois par la poste thaïlandaise.
Merci beaucoup Thapanaphong pour ce joli pli envoyé le 26 août 2017 (2017 correspondant à l'année 2560 dans le calendrier bouddhiste) depuis Yan Nawa, un des 50 districts de la capitale, Bangkok !
Pour rappel, le 8 août 2017, 8 des 10 pays membres de l'ASEAN (Association des Nations de l'Asie du Sud-Est), tous sauf Brunei Darussalam et le Myanmar, ont mis en circulation un timbre commun ayant pour thème les "fleurs nationales" afin de célébrer ce 50ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN.

As a reminder, on August 8, 2017, 8 of the 10 ASEAN (Association of SouthEast Asian Nations) member countries, all excepting Brunei Darussalam and Myanmar, issued a joint stamp on the theme of "national flowers" in order to celebrate this 50th anniversary of ASEAN.

Comme cela est le cas sur les 7 autres timbres émis dans le cadre de cette émission, le logo de l'ASEAN Post (une enveloppe évoquant une colombe avec l'emblème de l'ASEAN à l'intérieur) est présent en haut à gauche sur ce timbre thaïlandais (3 baht), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres.
Ce timbre est consacré à une fleur de Cassia fistula ou canéficier, dont l'arbre et la fleur jaune sont des symboles nationaux en Thaïlande.
Ces fleurs en grappes pendantes de 20 à 40 cm de longueur, appelées rajapreuk, sont aussi un symbole de la royauté.
J'aime beaucoup le graphisme de ce timbre, donnant à cette fleur un effet de relief !
As it is the case with the 7 other stamps put into circulation in this joint issue, the ASEAN Post's logo (an envelope evoking a dove with the ASEAN emblem inside) is included on the top left on this Thai stamp (3 Baht), printed in sheetlet of 10 stamps.
That stamp is devoted to a flower of Cassia fistula or golden rain tree, whose tree and yellow flower are national symbols in Thailand.
These flowers in pendant clusters of 20 to 40 cm in length, called rajapreuk, are also a symbol of royalty.
I really love the design of that stamp, giving this flower an embossed effect! 

International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017 - FDC from Bulgaria

Comme déjà évoqué sur ce blog, l'Assemblée générale des Nations Unies a proclamé 2017 Année internationale du tourisme durable pour le développement, dans le contexte du Programme de développement durable à l'horizon 2030.
Cette Année internationale vise à encourager le passage à des politiques, des pratiques commerciales et un comportement des consommateurs allant dans le sens d'un secteur du tourisme plus durable contribuant aux objectifs de développement durable.
Plusieurs administrations postales ont émis des timbres sur ce thème en 2017 : Espagne, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, Moldavie, Pakistan, Chypre, Tonga, îles Cook...
Le 28 août 2017, la poste bulgare a mis en circulation un splendide bloc-feuillet (timbre à 2,10 leva) sur ce même thème, conçu par Tetyana Uzunova (tirage : 10500).
As already mentioned on this blog, the United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 2017 as the International Year for Sustainable Tourism for Development in the context of the universal 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 
This International Year aims to support a change in policies, business practices and consumer behavior towards a more sustainable tourism sector that contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals. 
Several postal administrations have issued stamps on this topic in 2017: Spain, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Moldova, Pakistan, Tonga, Cook Islands...
On August 28, 2017, the Bulgarian Post issued a splendid souvenir sheet (stamp with a value of 2.10 leva) on the same theme, designed by Tetyana Uzunova (print run: 10,500).

Ce bloc-feuillet figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus, avec TAD de Sofia (que représente-t-il exactement ?), envoyé en recommandé (à noter l'empreinte "taxe perçue" avec valeur de 3,40 leva). Merci beaucoup Borislav !
Le logo de cette année internationale ainsi qu'une partie des fresques de la tombe thrace de Kazanlak, sont représentés sur le timbre.
Inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1979, ce tombeau (découvert en 1944) date de la fin du 4ème siècle av. JC et fait partie d’une grande nécropole thrace, avec ces peintures murales représentant les rites funéraires et la culture thrace (chefs-d'œuvre les mieux préservés de la période hellénistique en Bulgarie).
La marge à gauche est consacré à une des fresques (Christ ici) du monastère de Rila, un site également inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO (en 1983).
Fondé au 10ème siècle, cet ensemble monastique a tenu un rôle important dans la vie spirituelle et sociale de la Bulgarie médiévale. Ravagé par un incendie au début du 19ème siècle, il a été rebâti entre 1834 et 1862.
A noter enfin la présence (dans la marge en bas à gauche) de l'emblème de l'office du tourisme bulgare, "Bulgarie" surmonté d'une rose, un des symboles du pays.

The logo of this international year as well as a part of the frescoes of the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, are represented on the stamp.
Inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1979, this tomb (discovered in 1944) dates from the end of the 4th century BC and is part of a large Thracian necropolis, with these murals depicting funerary rites and Thracian culture (best-preserved masterpieces of the Hellenistic period in Bulgaria).
The margin on the left is devoted to one of the frescoes (Christ here) of the Rila Monastery, also a UNESCO World Heritage site (from 1983).
Founded in the 10th century, this monastic complex played an important role in the spiritual and social life of medieval Bulgaria. Ravaged by a fire in the early 19th century, it was rebuilt between 1834 and 1862.
Finally, to note the presence (in the margin, at the bottom left) of the Bulgarian tourist office's emblem, the word "Bulgaria" topped by a rose, one of the symbols of the country.

Un grand merci Edna pour cette jolie surprise chypriote, envoyée le 24 août 2017 depuis le bureau postal de l'aéroport de Larnaca !
Heureux d'ajouter cette lettre à ma liste des plis reçus cette année et affranchis avec les timbres ou séries de timbres EUROPA 2017 dont le thème cette année est consacré aux châteaux.
Les 2 timbres à droite constituent donc cette série EUROPA (conception : Ioanna Kalli) émise par la poste Chypriote le 4 mai 2017, représentant respectivement le château de Larnaca (0,41€, tirage : 275000) et le fort de Paphos (0,64€, tirage : 110000).
Comme les années précédentes, ces 2 timbres ont été imprimés chacun en feuillet de 8 timbres (avec marges illustrées) ainsi que dans un même carnet (tirage : 10000 carnets) composé de 8 timbres (4 de chaque) non dentelés sur un côté.

Happy to add this letter to my list of covers received this year and franked with the EUROPA 2017 stamps or series of stamps whose theme this year is devoted to Castles.
The two stamps on the right constitute this EUROPA series (design: Ioanna Kalli) issued by the Cyprus Post on May 4, 2017, respectively featuring the Larnaca Castle (€ 0.41, print run: 275,000) and the Paphos Castle (€ 0.64, print run: 110,000).
As in previous years, these two stamps were each printed in a sheetlet of 8 stamps (with illustrated margins) as well as in the same booklet (print run: 10,000 booklets) consisting of 8 stamps (4 of each) unperforated on one side.

Le fort de Paphos, situé sur le bord du port de la cité de Paphos (côte sud-ouest de l'île), capitale européenne de la culture 2017, a été construit au 13ème siècle par la maison française de Lusignan, avant d'être démantelé en 1570 par les Vénitiens puis d'être pris par les Ottomans qui le restaurent et le renforcent à partir de 1589.
Le château de Larnaca, situé sur la côte sud de Chypre, a été construit par les Ottomans en 1625, remplaçant également une construction précédente initiée par les Lusignan. Ce site, un musée aujourd'hui, fut transformé en prison lorsque l'île était sous domination britannique, entre 1878 et 1960.
A noter enfin ce 3ème timbre (0,02€, émission de 2015) avec mention "Refugee Fund" (en grec, anglais et turc), réémis régulièrement, apposé en complément sur toutes les lettres et cartes postales postées sur l'île afin de financer ce fond pour les réfugiés grecs ayant fui le nord de l'île après l'invasion turque de 1974.
Paphos Castle, located on the edge of the port of the city of Paphos (south-west coast of the island), European capital of culture 2017, was built in the 13th century by the French house of Lusignan, being dismantled in 1570 by the Venetians and then taken by the Ottomans who restored and strengthened it from 1589.
The Castle of Larnaca, located on the southern coast of Cyprus, was built by the Ottomans in 1625, replacing also a previous construction initiated by the Lusignans. This site, a museum today, was transformed into a prison when the island was under British rule, between 1878 and 1960.
To note this 3rd stamp (€ 0.02, issue of 2015) with "Refugee Fund" mention (in Greek, English and Turkish), reissued regularly, affixed in complement on all the letters and postcards mailed from the island in order to finance this fund for the Greek refugees who fled the north after the Turkish invasion in 1974.

100 years of the death of poet and theologian Alexei Mateevici - special postmark from Moldova

100 ans de la mort du poète et théologien Alexei Mateevici - TAD spécial en Moldavie

Poète, écrivain, activiste, professeur et théologien, Alexei Mateevici (1888-1917) est considéré comme un des plus grands poètes de Bessarabie avec de nombreuses œuvres comme Ţăranii ("Paysans"), Eu cânt ("Je chante") ou Ţara ("Le pays") ainsi que des articles concernant la religion ou le folklore moldave.
Mais Alexei Mateevici est surtout célèbre pour son poème romantique "Limba noastră" ("Notre langue") écrit un mois avant sa mort, dont 5 des 12 strophes ont été choisies pour devenir l'hymne national de la Moldavie en 1994 (musique composée par Alexandru Cristea).
Le 15 août 2017,  la poste moldave a mis en circulation un TAD spécial consacré au 100ème anniversaire de sa disparition.
Poet, writer, activist, teacher and theologian, Alexei Mateevici (1888-1917) is considered as one of the greatest Bessarabian poets with many works such as Ţăranii ("Peasants"), Eu cânt ("I sing") or Ţara ("The Country") as well as articles published about religion or Moldovan folklore. 
But Alexei Mateevici is best known for his romantic poem "Limba noastră" ("Our Language") written one month before his death, of which 5 of the 12 stanzas were chosen to become the national anthem of Moldova in 1994 (music composed by Alexandru Cristea).
On August 15, 2017, the Post of Moldova put into circulation a special postmark devoted to the 100th anniversary of his death.

C'est ce TAD de Chișinău (MD-2012), représentant son portrait ainsi qu'une plume dans un encrier et une feuille de papier, qui a été appliqué sur la carte postale ci-dessus (n° 13/2013, conception : Vitalie Leca, tirage inconnu). Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
La poste moldave a déjà émis des timbres (1998) ou entiers postaux (2 en 2008) dans le passé consacrés à Alexei Mateevici, en particulier le bloc-feuillet (5,75 L) ci-dessus émis le 28 août 2013 à l'occasion du 125ème anniversaire de sa naissance. La vignette incluse sur ce bloc-feuillet évoque son poème romantique "Limba noastră".
Nicolae a utilisé 2 autres timbres dont un (1,75 L) faisant partie d'une série de 3 timbres émise le 22 novembre 2014, consacrée à de hauts responsables militaires, originaires de Bessarabie, qui se sont illustrés pendant la 1ère guerre mondiale, Dimitrie Bogos (1889-1946) ici, associé à la création de la République Démocratique Moldave (RDM), le nom pris par la Bessarabie autonome après la Révolution russe de 1917.

The Post of Moldova already issued stamps (1998) or postal stationeries (2 in 2008) in the past devoted to Alexei Mateevici, in particular the souvenir sheet (L 5.75) above issued on August 28, 2013 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of his birth.
The label included on this souvenir sheet evokes his romantic poem "Limba noastră".
Nicolae used two other stamps, one of which (L 1.75) being part of a series of 3 stamps issued on November 22, 2014, dedicated to military officials, native from Bessarabia, having played an important role during WW1, Dimitrie Bogos (1889-1946) here, associated with the creation of the Moldavian Democratic Republic (MDR), the name taken by the autonomous Bessarabia after the Russian Revolution of 1917.

Le 19 août 2017 (prévente à Gembloux), la poste belge bpost a mis en circulation un intéressant bloc-feuillet composé de 5 timbres consacré à différentes espèces de mammifères marins considérées comme menacées, observées sur la côte de la Mer du Nord.
Conçu par Kris Maes, ce bloc-feuillet intitulé "La vie marine en danger" a été imprimé à 65393 exemplaires.
Un des timbres (tarif Europe "1" pour un envoi normalisé jusqu'à 50g - 1,13€ actuellement) de ce bloc-feuillet figure sur le pli spécial ci-dessous, avec TAD Premier Jour de Bruxelles du 21 août 2017. Merci beaucoup Johan !
On August 19, 2017 (preview sale in Gembloux), the Belgian Post bpost put into circulation an interesting sheetlet composed of 5 stamps devoted to different species of marine mammals considered as threatened, living on the North Sea coastline.
Designed by Kris Maes, this sheetlet entitled "Endangered marine life" was printed at 65,393 copies.
One of the stamps (rate "Europe 1" for a standardized letter up to 50g - € 1.13 currently) of this sheetlet was used on the special cover below, with FDC cancellation from Brussels of August 21, 2017. Thank you very much Johan!

Ce bloc-feuillet succède à une série précédente émise en 2016 consacrée à des mammifères terrestres en danger.
Parmi les 5 espèces à l'honneur sur ce nouveau bloc-feuillet, celui ci-dessus (timbre conçu à partir d'une photographie de Rudolf Svensen) représentant un dauphin à bec blanc (Lagenorhynchus albirostris) avec son petit.
Cette espèce est abondante en Mer du Nord et fait l'objet d'observations régulières dans les eaux territoriales du Royaume-Uni, de France, de Belgique, du Pays-Bas, du Danemark et d'Allemagne.
Espèce endémique de l'Atlantique Nord, il y aurait au moins 100000 individus recensés sur l'ensemble de cette aire de répartition.
This sheetlet follows a previous series issued in 2016 devoted to endangered terrestrial mammals.
Among the five species in the spotlight on this new series, the one above (a stamp designed from a photograph by Rudolf Svensen) depicting a white-beaked dolphin (Lagenorhynchus albirostris) with its young.
This species is abundant in the North Sea and is the subject of regular observations in the territorial waters of the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany.
As an endemic species in the North Atlantic, there are at least 100,000 individuals throughout the range.

Les 5 autres espèces représentées ici sont le dauphin souffleur, la baleine à bosse, le phoque gris et phoque veau marin (sur le même timbre) et la marsouin.
I really like this complete sheetlet above, especially the double rectangular perforations for each of the 5 stamps and the very discreet presence of the name of the country (Belgique - België)...
The 5 other species featured here are the common bottlenose dolphin, the humpback whale, the gray seal and harbour seal (on the same stamp) and the harbour porpoise.

L'édition 2017 des championnats du monde de course en ligne de canoë-kayak avait lieu du 23 au 27 août 2017 en République Tchèque, dans le village de Račice (40 km au nord de Prague).
A cette occasion, une nouvelle flamme postale a été mise en circulation par le bureau principal de Prague 1 le 23 août 2017.
C'est cette flamme qui a été appliquée sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Slavek !
Le nom de cette compétition en tchèque ("Mistrovství světa v rychlostní kanoistice") ainsi qu'une illustration mêlant une épreuve de canoë et de kayak en ligne, figurent sur cette flamme.
The 2017 edition of the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships took place from 23 to 27 August 2017 in Czech Republic, in the village of Račice (40 km north of Prague).
On this occasion a new slogan cancellation was put into circulation by the main post office of Prague 1 on August 23, 2017.

The name of this competition in Czech ("Mistrovství světa v rychlostní kanoistice") as well as an illustration mixing a canoe and a kayak sprint event, are featured on this cancellation.

Lors de ces championnats, les différentes courses concernaient des épreuves masculines et féminines à bord de canoës ou de kayak (embarquant 1, 2 ou 4 athlètes), sur des distances entre 200 et 5000 mètres.
L'Allemagne a dominé ces championnats avec 12 médailles (dont 6 en or), devant la Hongrie, la Russie et la République Tchèque (6 médailles). La France est rentrée bredouille...
Le timbre (10 CZK) à été émis le 4 septembre 2013 à l'occasion des 35èmes championnats du monde de canoë-kayak (slalom) organisés à Prague du 11 au 15 septembre 2013.
A noter cette vignette de complément (22 CZK) pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur (32 CZK) pour un envoi prioritaire jusqu'à 50g vers les pays européens.
During these championships, the different races involved men's and women's events in canoes or kayaks (with 1, 2 or 4 athletes), over distances between 200 and 5000 meters.
Germany dominated these championships with 12 medals (including 6 gold medals), ahead of Hungary, Russia and Czech Republic (6 medals). France did not win any medal...
The stamp (10 CZK) was issued on September 4, 2013 on the occasion of the 35th ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships held in Prague from 11 to 15 September 2013.
To note this additional label (22 CZK) to reach the current tariff (32 CZK) for a priority shipment up to 50g to European countries.

A la découverte des îles Matsu - FDC de Taïwan

Après 2 blocs-feuillets émis en 2016 et en mars 2017 consacrés respectivement au comté de Taitung et à la municipalité spéciale de Tainan, la Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a mis en circulation le 9 août 2017, une 3ème série (4 timbres), avec un focus cette fois sur les îles Matsu, d'une série conçue pour inciter les taïwanais (et les touristes étrangers aussi je suppose) à découvrir les splendides paysages ou sites de leur île.
Cet archipel des Matsu, composé de 36 îles et îlots dans le détroit de Taïwan, à moins de 20 km du continent au nord-ouest de l'île de Taïwan, est administré par la République de Chine sous le nom de comté de Lienchang (le plus petit comté du pays).
After two miniature sheets issued in 2016 and March 2017, respectively devoted to Taitung County and Tainan Special Municipality, the Chunghwa Post of Taiwan issued a 3rd series (4 stamps) on August 9, 2017, with a focus this time on the Matsu Islands, of a series designed to encourage Taiwanese people (and foreign tourists also I suppose) to discover the splendid landscapes or sites of their island. 
This Matsu archipelago, consisting of 36 islands and islets in the Taiwan Strait, less than 20 km from Mainland China to the northwest of the island of Taiwan, is administered by the Republic of China as Lienchang County (the smallest county in the country).

Le 1er timbre (5 NT$) montre le phare de Tungyin Tao, érigé en 1904 sur une crête qui se jette dans la mer sur l'île de Dongyin. Ce monument historique est le site situé le plus au nord du pays.
Le village de Qinbi (9 NT$), situé sur la côte nord de l'île de Beigan, est considéré comme le village de pierre traditionnel le mieux conservé des îles Matsu.
Le timbre suivant (10 NT$) est consacré à une espèce d'oiseau menacée, la sterne d'orient (Thalasseus bernsteini), endémique à l'archipel des Matsu, considérée un moment comme espèce éteinte, redécouverte récemment.
Le dernier timbre (20 NT$) évoque le phénomène appelé "Blue Tears" ("Larmes bleues") lorsque la mer brille la nuit, à la fin du printemps, à cause de la présence d'un phytoplancton bioluminescent.

The first stamp (NT $ 5) shows the Tungyin Tao lighthouse, erected in 1904 on a ridge jutting into the sea on Dongyin Island. This historic monument is the northernmost place of the country.
Qinbi village (NT $ 9), located on the north coast of Beigan Island, is considered as the best-preserved traditional stone village of the Matsu Islands.
The next stamp (NT $ 10) is devoted to a species of endangered bird, the Chinese crested tern (Thalasseus bernsteini), endemic to the Matsu Archipelago, considered for a moment as extinct, recently rediscovered.
The last stamp (NT $ 20) evokes the phenomenon called "Blue Tears" when the sea shines at night in late spring because of the presence of a bioluminescent phytoplankton.

Sauf erreur, à ce jour, seulement 10 administrations postales (sur les 20 pays membres de l'Union Postale pour la Méditerranée - PUMed) ont émis un timbre ou une série de timbres "Euromed Postal" cette année : Slovénie, Grèce, Chypre, Liban, Malte, Croatie, France, Portugal, Maroc, Tunisie (sans mentionner le logo officiel).
Pour rappel, depuis 2014, certains pays membres émettent chaque année un timbre consacré à un thème méditerranéen commun.
La poste slovène participe depuis 2014 et a mis en circulation le 10 juillet 2017 un 4ème joli timbre Euromed Postal (conception : Robert Žvokelj) illustrant le thème de cette année, les arbres de la Méditerranée ("Drevesa Sredozemlja" en slovène).
Until now if I'm not mistaken, only 10 postal administrations (out of the 20 member countries of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean - PUMed) have issued a "Euromed Postal" stamp or series of stamps this year: Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, Malta, Croatia, France, Portugal, Morocco, Tunisia (without the official logo).
As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries are issuing each year a stamp devoted to a common Mediterranean theme.
The Slovenian Post has been participating since 2014 and on July 10, 2017, issued a 4th Euromed Postal stamp (design: Robert Žvokelj) illustrating this year's theme: Trees in the Mediterranean ("Drevesa Sredozemlja" in Slovenian).

Ce timbre (1,26€) fait partie de l'affranchissement de la jolie lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 24 août 2017 de Ljubljana. Merci beaucoup Petra !
Ce timbre plutôt réussi est consacré à des feuilles, fleurs et fruits d'arbousier (Arbutus unedo), une espèce d'arbustes ou de petits arbres qui poussent dans l'ensemble du pourtour méditerranéen occidental.
A noter que cette même espèce figure sur le timbre Euromed Postal émis cette année par la France et sur un des 4 timbres de la série du Portugal.
Le 2ème timbre ci-dessus est le timbre Euromed Postal (0,64€, sardines), émis le 9 juillet 2016, dont le thème était consacré aux "poissons de la Méditerranée".
Le logo Euromed Postal (un oiseau stylisé avec la mention "Euromed Postal" également en arabe) est présent sur ces 2 timbres.

This rather successful stamp is devoted to leaves, flowers and fruits of strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo), a species of shrubs or small trees that grow throughout the western Mediterranean region.
To note that this same tree species is also featured on the Euromed Postal stamp issued this year by France and on one of the 4 stamps of the series from Portugal.
The second stamp above is the Euromed Postal stamp (€ 0.64, European pilchard), issued on July 9, 2016, whose theme this year was devoted to "Fish of the Mediterranean". 
The Euromed Postal logo (a stylized bird with the mention "Euromed Postal" also in Arabic) is present on these 2 stamps. 

"Centenary of Samba" souvenir sheet on FDC from Brazil

Bloc-feuillet "100 ans de samba" sur FDC du Brésil

Musique de fête par excellence, la samba peut être considérée comme l'incarnation de la musique brésilienne, universellement connue de par le monde, expression parfaite de l'exubérance d'un peuple métissé entre ses racines européennes et africaines où elle puise ses racines les plus profondes.
Historiquement, la samba est née au tout début du 20ème siècle sur les docks du port et dans les rues des quartiers pauvres de Rio de Janeiro, en particulier dans le quartier de Praça Onze.
Uniquement basée sur des percussions à l'origine, la samba fut progressivement enrichie par la guitare et le cavaquinho (une petite guitare du Portugal) puis devint dans les années 1930 la musique officielle du célèbre carnaval de Rio.
Le 23 juin 2017, la poste brésilienne a mis en circulation un très joli bloc-feuillet (timbre au tarif permanent "Lettre commerciale 1st Class", tirage : 90000) conçu par Daniel Effi dans un style Art Nouveau typique du début du 20ème siècle au Brésil.
Festive music par excellence, samba is considered as the embodiment of Brazilian music, universally known throughout the world, a perfect expression of the exuberance of mixed people between its European and African roots.
Historically, samba was born in the early 20th century on the docks of the port and in the streets of the poor neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, especially in the Praça Onze district.
Originally only based on percussion, samba was gradually enriched by guitar and cavaquinho (a small guitar from Portugal) and then became the official music of the famous Rio carnival in the 1930s.
On June 23, 2017, the Brazilian Post put into circulation a very nice souvenir sheet (with a permanent "Commercial letter 1st Class" stamp, print run: 90,000) designed by Daniel Effi in a typical Art Nouveau style from the early 20th century in Brazil.

Ce style Art Nouveau était en particulier utilisé pour la conception des pochettes ou étiquettes figurant au centre des disques vinyls concernant la samba (le 1er enregistrement officiel de samba date de 1916, intitulé "Pelo telefone", écrite par Mauro de Almeida et Ernesto Joaquim Maria dos Santos).
Le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet illustre une "Roda de Samba" à Rio de Janeiro, rassemblant de nombreuses personnes chantant ou dansant (les Baianas en particulier) autour d'une table où jouent des musiciens.
Sur ce timbre, la table fait référence à une étiquette de vinyl de cette époque.

This Art Nouveau style was used in particular for the design of vinyl samba LP's labels or jackets (the first official samba recording dates from 1916, entitled "Pelo telefone", written by Mauro de Almeida and Ernesto Joaquim Maria dos Santos).
The stamp of this souvenir sheet illustrates a "Roda de Samba" in Rio de Janeiro, gathering many people singing or dancing (the Baianas in particular) around a table where musicians play.
On that stamp, the table refers to a vinyl LP's label of that time.
