Ainsi s'exprimait le comité norvégien pour expliquer l'attribution du Prix Nobel de la paix au polonais Lech Wałęsa en octobre 1983.
La poste polonaise a célébré les 25 ans de ce Prix Nobel en émettant en 2008 (à quelle date ?) une carte postale avec un timbre pré-imprimé reproduisant une photographie récente du fondateur du syndicat Solidarność. Le tirage de cette carte est de 50000 exemplaires.

La photographie en haut à gauche montre sans doute Lech Wałęsa au début des années 80 lors d'une des nombreuses grèves d'ouvriers sur les chantiers de Gdansk pour dénoncer la dictature communiste.
Pour rappel, Lech Wałęsa a encore été à l'honneur cette année avec l'émission le 30 mai 2009 d'un bloc-feuillet consacré aux 20ème anniversaire des 1ères élections législatives partiellement libres en Pologne remportées par les candidats du syndicat Solidarność. Lech Wałęsa sera élu président de la république un an plus tard...
Here is what said the Norwegian committee to explain the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Lech Wałęsa in October 1983.
The Post of Poland has celebrated the 25th anniversary of this Nobel Prize by issuing in 2008 (when exactly ?) a postcard with a pre-printed stamp reproducing a recent photograph of the famous founder of the "Solidarność" union. The print run of this card is 50,000 copies.

The photograph at the top left shows without doubt Lech Wałęsa in the early 80's during one of the many strikes of workers in the Gdansk shipyards to denounce the communist dictatorship.
As a reminder, Lech Wałęsa has already been in the spotlight this year with the issue of a souvenir sheet on May 30th 2009 devoted to the 20th anniversary of the first partly free general elections in Poland won by the candidates of the "Solidarność" union. Lech Wałęsa was elected president of Poland one year later...
