Hommage à Wiesław Chrzanowski en Pologne - FDC

Tribute to Wiesław Chrzanowski in Poland - FDC

On April 16, 2013, the Polish Post has issued a stamp to pay tribute to Wiesław Chrzanowski (1923-2012), lawyer, politician and prominent figure of the restoration of democracy in the country in the late 1990s.
Thank you very much Kazimierz for this official FDC below regarding that stamp (design : Marzanna Dąbrowska, print run : 300,000), with a postmark from Warsaw :-)
A portrait of Wiesław Chrzanowski is featured on this stamp as well as his name (in red and white, the colors of the Polish flag) and his most important office, Marshal of the Sejm.

The illustration on the left shows probably Wiesław Chrzanowski during his inauguration speech as Speaker (Marshal) of the Sejm ("Sejm Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej"), the lower house of the Polish parliament in, 1991. Born in Warsaw 90 years ago, Chrzanowski was a member of the "Armia Krajowa" ("Home Army"), a resistance movement against the Nazis during the second world war.
He was then active in the opposition to the dictatorship, participated in determining the status of the Solidarność trade union and founded the political party "Christian National Union" (ZChN) in 1989.
He became the first Speaker of the Sejm of the third Polish Republic, between 1991 and 1993, under the presidency of Lech Wałęsa.
I guess that the words in Latin "Ordo Caritatis" ("Order of Charity") on the FDC cancellation refer to the Augustinian religious order o which he was a member ?
