Comme de coutume, la poste tchèque clôt l'année 2016 avec sa splendide série gravée intitulée "Œuvres d'art sur timbres-poste" avec cette année trois oeuvres des peintres Jaroslav Král et František Tichý et du sculpteur Bedřich Stefan.
Un grand merci Bret pour ces jolis FDC (tirage : 3500 chacun), avec TAD de Prague du 9 novembre 2016, incluant chacun un timbre de cette série !
Le 1er timbre ci-dessous (27 CZK, gravure : Václav Fajt) reproduit l'œuvre "Deux Femmes" (1929, galerie d'art moderne de Roudnice nad Labem) par l'un des plus grandes artistes tchèques de la 1ère moitié du 20ème siècle, Jaroslav Král (1883-1942).
La gravure à gauche sur cette enveloppe évoque une autre œuvre de Král, "Paysage avec poissons".
As usual, the Czech Post closed the year 2016 with its beautiful engraved "Works of Art on Postage Stamps" stamp series, with this year three works of art by painters Jaroslav Král and František Tichý and sculptor Bedřich Stefan.

The first stamp below (27 CZK, engraving : Václav Fajt) reproduces the work "Two women" (1929, Modern Art Gallery of Roudnice nad Labem) by one of the greatest Czech artists of the first half of the 20th century, Jaroslav Král (1883-1942).
The engraving to the left on this envelope evokes another Král's work, "A landscape with fish".
Le 2ème timbre ci-dessous (30 CZK, gravure : Jaroslav Tvrdoň) est consacré à une sculpture polychrome en terre cuite intitulée "Fille à l'absinthe" (1924, Galerie nationale de Prague) par Bedřich Stefan (1896-1982), sculpteur, concepteur de médailles et professeur à l'académie des arts et architecture de Prague.
Après de nombreux séjours en France, Stefan créa des œuvres sculptées pour de nombreux édifices de Prague dans les années 1930, en particulier un chemin de croix pour l'église Saint-Wenceslas située dans le quartier de Vršovice (exemple sur la gravure à gauche sur cette enveloppe).
The second stamp below (30 CZK, engraving : Jaroslav Tvrdoň) is devoted to a polychrome baked clay sculpture entitled "Girl with absinth" (1924, National Gallery of Prague) by Bedřich Stefan (1896-1982), sculptor, medal designer and professor at the Academy of Arts and Architecture in Prague.
After many stays in France, Stefan created sculptures for many Prague buildings in the 1930s, in particular a Way of the Cross relief sculpture in St. Wenceslas Church in the district of Vršovice (example on the engraving on the left on this envelope).
Le dernier timbre de cette série ci-dessous (38 CZK, gravure : Václav Fajt) représente une œuvre intitulée "Clown avec un singe" (1933, Galerie nationale de Prague) par le peintre et artiste graphique František Tichý (1896-1961).
František Tichý est considéré comme une personnalité de premier plan parmi les artistes avant-gardistes tchèques des années 1940.
Comme en exemple sur ce timbre, il consacra de nombreuses œuvres à l'univers du cirque mais fut également créateur de costumes et décors pour le théâtre.
La gravure à gauche sur cette enveloppe est inspirée d'un autoportrait de František Tichý datant de 1944.
The last stamp of this series below (38 CZK, engraving : Václav Fajt) depicts a work entitled "Clown with Monkey" (1933, National Gallery of Prague) by the painter and graphic artist František Tichý (1896-1961).
František Tichý is considered as a leading figure among Czech avant-garde artists of the 1940s.
As the example on that stamp, he devoted many works to the world of circus but was also creator of costumes and designs for the theater.
The engraving to the left on this FDC is inspired by a self-portrait of František Tichý dating from 1944.
